LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

The Rebels vs. Imperials set actually has a new female Fleet Trooper head, but it unfortunately also reuses Captain Antilles' head (I would honestly prefer two identical troopers over one with a named character's head). The Imperial dropship looks bad, with an unclear silhouette and lots of gaps and jarring brown pieces; the Rebel speeder, on the other hand, looks amazing! The size is nice, but it can also be extended a bit quite easily, and in addition to being a faithful update of the OG battle pack build, it looks straight out of an old Battlefront game! -

A version of the TIE/D called an “auto-fighter” was used by Visler Korda’s remnant, so they do exist and could be used by Thrawn. Additionally, Thrawn had contact with the Republic during the Clone Wars, so he would have seen the utility of Separatist droid fighters for swarm tactics - Maybe the bulk of his starfighters will be drones, with a few skilled pilots in shielded craft similar to the Defender. 🤔 I am curious as to how Thrawn will acquire resources and navigate the Imperial remnants; obviously, he will want to be in charge, but equally obviously so will everyone else! Pitting warlords against each other in open conflict would waste their resources, so maybe he will try to undermine weaker factions by outing them to the NR (perhaps what we see in TMaG?), then steal their confiscated equipment and hardware. I am not convinced that we have not already seen Spaarti clones. The Kaminoan model had clones born as children who then quickly aged into adulthood, but Moff Gideon’s clones were adults “before they could take their first breath”. That plot went nowhere (unless Moff is back in TMaG as a clone/a clone was the one who died on Mandalore), but it being an introduction to Spaarti cloning before we see Thrawn use it would be a good payoff. As for wrapping things up, we already know that Kaminoan clones have a roughly halved lifespan when compared to normal Humans, and that clone bodies can degrade over time (see Palpatine), so Spaarti clones may only live for a couple of years. -

I would say later, since if Thrawn starts building new TIE Defenders, they would probably debut in the HttE 2.0 movie. I actually doubt that we will see the Defender come back; it was a large and expensive project under the Empire, and Thrawn has only a fraction of those resources at his disposal now. I personally wonder if his starfighters will be Chiss clawcraft - They use a standard TIE cockpit ball as the base, but also have shields. -

The Pegasus is just a recolour of exiting white parts, and it has the same brickbuilt wing attachment that we have seen multiple times before; the goat is just the original piece with the brown spots swapped for black. There is nothing to indicate that either creature is planned to appear in a future set (though a pink Pegasus could definitely show up in Dreamzzz, however entirely brickbuilt is more likely than moulded IMO).- 5,876 replies

Vader’s TIE Advanced is long overdue for a remake, so that would be my top pick. A R1 TIE Reaper or scaled-down TIE Striker would both be good choices, though their screen time has been far more limited; I would put them below Vader’s TIE in order of likelihood. The TIE Defender, while significant from a plot standpoint, has only appeared in Rebels, and the TIE Avenger is almost certainly a prototype that gets destroyed in Andor S2 (as we never see it again!), so those are the least likely to appear (unless we get a decent number of Andor sets). I know that LEGO is weird about anniversaries, so it is really a toss-up as to whether we will get R1 sets in 2026, but that feels to be a more likely year for things like the TIE Striker and TIE Reaper. My Credits are on a Vader’s TIE Advanced vs. Rebel Y-wing set in 2025 (LEGO likes their two-ship sets, and it is a nice little throwback combo), and maybe a TIE Avenger set for Andor. Alternatively, as we do not know what Rebel starfighters will appear in Andor S2 aside from the U-wing (the Alliance was using A-wings during this time, for instance), we could get Vader’s TIE on its own and a TIE Avenger vs. a Rebel starfighter set for Andor. -
I actually have a theory as to why we did not get a Classic Space 18+ capstone set for the Year of Space. First, LEGO wanted to get the MTS out while the LKC was still available (as the latter is clearly a companion piece to the former), and pushing the LKC’s retirement out by another 1-2 years would potentially interfere with future 18+ throwback offerings. Second, and more significantly IMO, LEGO wanted to drive up sales of other sets in the Space megatheme. The 2024 City and Friends Space offerings are excellent, but a classic 18+ set would have absolutely stolen the spotlight (especially if it were as affordable as the GE!) and could potentially have decreased sales of the other sets. By waiting until 2025 to drop a classic remake, LEGO would maximise overall sales from Space/classic themes fans.

No; BAM pieces are exclusive, and do not appear on PAB (sadly!). Your options for getting BAM parts are to either go to a LEGO store, or buy the pieces from a seller on BrickLink.

We have been getting 1-2 standard release 18+ throwback sets each year since 2020, so I can absolutely see us getting something in 2025. Also, since Castle (4 sets) and Pirates (2 sets) currently outnumber Space (1 set), that seems to be the most likely option for 2025. 2020: PoBB 2021: Blacksmith 2022: LKC, Galaxy Explorer 2023: Eldorado Fortress, Viking Village 2024: MTS

Oh, right! Dark blue are appearing in BAM.

The purple torsos came in the CMF snailien (Series 22 Space Creature). Correct. 👍 There are definitely Classic Space fans among the LEGO designers!

I like that it seems they are committing to this plot point, at least if only for a single season. I feel like the temptation to resolve it at the beginning would be high, so I appreciate them sticking with it. That said, I am not sure what the exact dynamic will be, since we have multiple villain factions in play, and none of them like each other! I also have doubts about a Ras-Ninja alliance, though I can see maybe a begrudging team-up for at least the first half of S3. Maybe I am curious about where Jay fits into all of this, since the storm theme works with him, but he seemed to be out on his own by the end of S2. 🤔 Maybe Ras decides to pick him back up, since his plans failed spectacularly after he cut him loose! That could also give us a cool little I can also see him picking up Zeatrix (since she has a grudge against the Ninja), as well as potentially Dr. LaRow (who just disappeared in S1), since he is out a scientist now!

$40 mech two-pack with Venomized Carnage mech vs. Carnageized Venom mech confirmed! Minifigs include Venomized Carnage and Carnageized Venom (standard Venom and Carnage with swappable parts), Anti-Venom (reused), and an exclusive Venomized Anti-Venom figure! Earth-928 NYC, home of Spider-Man 2099 and location of the Spider Society’s headquarters in AtSV. Also, yes, it exists in the comics as well. -
Zoey should have the dark blue legs (I knew they felt familiar!), while Oz should get sand blue. Additionally, the same legs can work for both Oz and Cooper, since both characters wear sand blue jeans; the piece in the BAM lineup is not fully accurate to either’s show appearance, but the overall style and colour are correct (and more accurate than Cooper’s official design, ironically!).

They are the build-a-Minifig bins/packed boxes (depending on the store) found in LEGO stores. You can either buy directly from the store, or through BrickLink if you do not have a store near you (which is how I got the City Space BAM parts). Just so that we are all clear, Mr. Oswald wears a dark blue CS shirt under his lab coat in the Dreamzzz show, so this is not an indication one way or another about the prize machine Spaceman colour. LEGO just took the opportunity to give us a new CS torso instead of just a CS reference on a lab coat torso. I also personally suspect that we will get a helmet and airtanks in dark blue in a random set at some point in the near future, as we did with purple and green.

Characters included in the BAM lineup, and how to build them (based on the image found on Reddit): - Daytime Mateo: Fifth head down, reddish brown hair in the top cluster, third torso from the left on the bottom row, first legs from the left on the top row. The legs are the only non-exclusive piece; also, his torso print is missing the backpack strap and art supplies from his show design. - Daytime Izzie: Seventh head down, dark brown hair in the top row, second torso from the left on the top row, first legs from the left on the bottom row. Only the torso is BAM-exclusive, and the legs are inaccurate to her show appearance (also, the head is a reuse, so not an exact match either). - Daytime Zoey: Sixth head down, black hair third from the left in the bottom row, first torso from the left in the bottom row, third legs from the left in the top row. Torso and hair (specifically this recolour) are BAM-exclusive; I am not sure about the legs, but they are inaccurate to her show appearance. - Daytime Mr. Oswald: First head down, light grey hair/beard in the top cluster, dark blue Classic Space torso, second legs from the left in the top row. Torso and head are the only BAM-exclusives, and the combination is somewhat inaccurate (he has a different leg design in the show, as well as a lab coat over the CS shirt). - Daytime Cooper: Third head down, second hair from the left in the bottom row, second torso from the left in the bottom row, second legs from the left in the top row. No parts are exclusive, as Cooper is the only character to have gotten a daytime variant in the sets; also, the set version has dark blue legs, but the legs here are more accurate to his show design (though not completely). - Pyjamas Nova: Fourth head down, dark red hair in the top cluster, third torso from the left in the top row, fourth legs from the left in the top row. No parts are exclusive (this Minifig has appeared in sets). - Pyjamas Jayden: Second head down, black hair first from the left in the bottom row, first torso from the left in the top row, fifth legs from the left in the top row. No parts are exclusive, as this Minifig has appeared in sets. Additional notes: Daytime Logan is missing from the lineup, and the white short legs do not correspond to any of the characters.

Code cylinders do not have any bearing on rank in Canon (unlike in Legends). We are severely lacking in single-line ranks, with the only ones we have being captains for Army, Navy, and Security/Stormtrooper Corps, colonel (Yularen), Praji’s rank*, and the mystery 3R/3Y with light grey tunic**! *Praji is referred to as “Commander”, but his insignia suggests a higher rank than that. Considering that “Commander” is also used as a title for ranking Stormtroopers (all pauldron colours, as well as no pauldron at all, have been addressed as “Commander”), my personal belief is that Vader is just addressing him by his title rather than his rank (“See to it personally, Commander”). **Thanks to Andor, we now know that light grey tunics are worn by ISB attendants (and possibly all junior ISB officers), but this guy’s rank is too high for him to be a junior officer. Additionally, his rank is structured unlike any other aside from Admiral Brom Titus (Red-Yellow). My theory for him is that he is Navy Operations (despite no direct source for that branch’s existence). Army Operations uses Yellow-Red ranks, and Army and Navy single-lines are reversed in colour (Army is Red-Blue, while Navy is Blue-Red), so Red-Yellow makes sense for a Navy Operations branch. Additionally, since the Imperial Department for Advanced Weapons Research (Krennic’s domain) is a subdivision of Imperial Intelligence (formerly Imperial Navy Intelligence), and since AWR officers wear white tunics just like ISB do, it is likely that they use the Navy rank structure (ISB uses Army or Security/Stormtrooper Corps), and that they have officers who wear light grey tunics. If light grey is specifically for attendants, and not all junior officers, then this mystery officer (likely a Navy Operations Commodore) could be an aide to a senior AWR officer (which also explains his presence on the Death Star!). As for Brom Titus, a Navy Operations admiral makes perfect sense as the commander of the experimental Interdictor-class Cruiser. Grand Admiral > Fleet Admiral > Admiral > Vice Admiral. Correct. 👍 We have the rank chart used by the production of Rogue One (which Andor and TBB stick to) for single-lines, and anything not on that chart can be extrapolated with the knowledge that red squares can replace a branch’s base colour depending on role (which is how we get a vice admiral’s plaque (Motti, Rampart) with more red than blue!). We do need a chart for double-lines, though, and a better explanation for the discrepancies than ranks being sector-specific. An ISD bridge diorama would more likely be “No disintegrations” than a bunch of Imperial officers, though a Death Star conference room (“I find your lack of faith disturbing”) would be a perfect choice for a set - Iconic scene, and an Imperial officer battle pack! -

The rank plaques are the same, though (unless you are referring to the single-line ranks). -

Did he say what Killian will look like? I would personally prefer the Extremis + dragon tattoos design from the end of the final battle, since his other outfits are fairly generic and relatively easy to cobble together (the original torso also holds up pretty well). -

Ghost looks really good from what I can see; definitely based on Ghost’s second design in the comics (AMatW version was more inspired by Ghost’s first costume). I look forward to those lights turning red! I also really like what I can see of Tasky, as well! I never had a problem with the silver mask that she wore in BW, but this design is more traditionally Taskmaster. The mask is giving General Grievous a bit, though not more than the comic design on which it is based, and I do like the creepiness of the dark sunken eyes. I am also expecting a personality shift to match her costume change, since Thunderbolts* takes place in the mid-to-late 2020’s, while Antonia was freed from Red Room control back in 2016 - Ten years is plenty of time for her to develop a more sarcastic and quippy personality (especially since that is kind of the MCU’s default anyway!). How legit is Unibricks? I am not familiar with them. As to whether this lineup is true, while it does make more sense than a random Endgame ‘fig in a more IM3-based set, the last Hall of Armor set had a mix of IM1 (MK.3 suit), IM2 (War Machine MK.1, Whiplash, Fury), IM3 (MK.25 suit), and Endgame (MK.85 suit)! I can absolutely see this HoA having a random mix of suits as well, so I am personally waiting for a more credible source to confirm the lineup. -

Ah! That works then, IMO. 👍 I was thinking of characters who can be swapped in with minimal new prints. They also have no way to make the suits in ancient Egypt (though an ancient Egyptian take on the Morrison suits would actually be pretty cool)! To be fair, LEGO had the Mansion (and Blackbird, obviously!) in development since before the show released (Mansion Storm even has her ‘92 hair!), so we will probably not see any spoiler/explicitly S1-based sets until at least mid-2025. I do expect more X-Men sets, though, given the popularity of the series!
