Per the rules, it seems to be a matter of the size of the object in-question (Though I agree that there is too much overlap between the two Proficiencies (such that which one is used in a given situation is really entirely MM-dependent).).

Or coffee - Whichever you prefer." Yelana sets her rifle to stun and halfheartedly aims it towards Pierce. "Agh. . . Here we go again." Yelana made eye-contact with Pierce. "Pierce, contact Agent Su'un Yex - She'll vouch for me. This doesn't need to escalate any further!" "What, no! OK - IMO, we should play this quest with RAI, and the rules should be amended to specify that the ward drops after successful attacks. -
I had not considered mission-based respec-ing, as I was under the impression that PCs would retain their core skills throughout the game (with the exception of minor early reworks). Is swapping proficiencies before nearly every quest considered poor form, and can proficiencies above level 1 be swapped with others at the same level? 🤔

OK. 👍 If Zaria attacks Pierce, would Kinto only need to roll one success to bring the ward down (or does damage need to be dealt during the attack)? -
I am putting this here, since it fits better with post-quest discussion, IMO: I actually did not realise that Yelana is the most powerful member of the party! Since I am not completely familiar with the rules/battle system yet, and since this mission has been very RP/Proficiency-focused, I had not paid much attention to Zaria's and Soren's stats. Character-wise, Zaria feels like the party's heavy-hitter, while I have been playing Yelana in more of an ancillary support role (the only reason that she has a Calibrated weapon is because she built and customised it herself, using the advanced technology at her disposal).

@Waterbrick Down: I am not quite clear on exactly how Warding Bond works. Per the rules, it adds a +5 armour bonus "For next attack" - Does this mean that it lasts less than one turn, if the target with the ward up is attacked mid-turn? -

Yelana Fennix, by the way - And you are?"

" "Alright, and speaking of hair, I like yours - Looks good." Yelana smirked. "Not yet. . . Soren, hand me my ticket." Yelana stepped forward to address the team's leader. "About that - I'm actually wondering if we're all on the same job, and this is just one big misunderstanding. Does the name 'Leopold Irgonstead' mean anything to you? He hired us for a job involving. . . unique energy signatures, and I spotted - 'Slice'? - at the station in Parous right before we found out our tickets had already been claimed - Would you happen to know anything about that?"
