I got 3 Hermione and 5 Myrtle in my box. I thought it was supposed to be the other way around?

The postal system is buggered in Melbourne at the moment due to covid and a lot of our mail is being shipped up to sydney to be sorted. I ordered some bricks off someone about twenty minute drive from me but they have gone to Sydney. I've stopped checking the tracking, it will come when it comes. But yeah my Diagon alley is in the warehouse too. I hope it doesn't take weeks to get here.

I'm sure it will be included but just contact customer service and they will sort it out for you. Everyone ordering it should be getting the free gift.

Question, Is WWW lavender or medium lavender? And is QQS bright pink or dark pink?

Very good catch, its on my wish list of alterations. Nice to see it was planned at some stage. I'd love to see all the prototypes.

Where did this image come from?

Hard to tell with some of the lighting but you are also limited by lego window colours but Malkins is purple but there are no small purple windows. Eylops looks like the very pale pink like the wall of QQS but white might look better than the pink that lego do. Potages has black windows. Wiseacres has a blue tint and there are a few blue window colours. And maybe red for Magical Managerie. Check what colours the doors come in before you settle on a colour. Hope this helps.

Yeah I was looking at that option as well. Will do some photoshopping when I get better pictures to work up some ideas but will ready need the actual set to really figure it out. I think it was the random cobweb room above the daily prophet that got me thinking about making it bigger and that would solve the big pink wall issue. I may like it the way it is when I get it but I bet I mod it. i'll post pictures anyway just have to try and get it online next tuesday.

yeah definitely, this was just a quick photoshop image to see what it would look like smaller and with a bigger Daily Prophet. The image was such low quality there was no point trying to show all the small detail but when I get some better photos on monday I'll do a better version of it. And when I get the actual set i'll do before and after of it altered and probably a few other options to see what it can looks like.

Instagram took it down at the start of the week, I presume the went after certain # and cleared out all the diagon alley stuff. If you want to see it its on my flickr account but I didn't tag it with any links (micmacpadwac).

I mentioned it before and I know it is movie accurate but I think its the layout of Quality Quidditch supplies that is annoying everyone and the colour just amplifies it. The building is all out of balance with one window bigger than the other and then the right side of the building continues over the daily prophet. It give it large areas of wall that stand out. I've done a quick photoshop alteration on my instagram account, I don't think I can put the image up here but have a look and see what you think @micmacpadwac

How badly worded is this whole tease. "Get ready to experience......Coming 31/8' Seems like a release date. But then the next section says build this QR code to get first look, but that doesn't give us first look so does it work at the end of the countdown? Probably but its not clear. And then to annoy you even more VIP's get exclusive video of the twins asking questions of the design team. No sorry that doesn't give you anything either. I just don't get lego sometimes.

Don't get me wrong, I love the set. I just think I'm going to alter that building, nobody really knows what these buildings are supposed to look like anyway. I think that's the first time ever I've seen that image with the odd windows. They have changed them so many times in the movies and they new parks have different versions. I love mocing stuff anyway so I'm gonna shrink that building and create a bit of the daily prophet. It will be fun to do.

yeah I've seen a few versions but I like the even windows with the extra door, extra door optional if it makes it too big. Will have to see how that affects the stickers.

My first change to Diagon alley will be to fix the odd windows in QQS. It seems like one side has three middle vertical window elements (New part?) and the other side has one. Seems off, going to even them out and redesign the inside as the door will be in the middle then.

Interested to hear what people think a Gringotts add on would look like for this set going by the linear layout of the street. Each build is on a 16x32 plate so I presume Gringotts would have to fit in that area. It couldn't be built side on as it would face the wall of Olivanders, maybe have it on an angle so you get street down the side of Olivanders and street continuing along the front. So side of bank faces forward and door and pillars are on angle and then there is no other side as that's open like the rest of the street. They may also just build it as a stand alone set that doesn't connect?

Starting with the good stuff, Loving the buildings, I don't think we could have asked for more with the quality of these builds. They are stunning and seem to be very detailed inside too. Delighted we got some pavement as well to display figures properly outside. Not to sure how the building will look when placed facing each other, not sure there will be enough street between the buildings. The figures have good and bad points, love that we got some obscure characters. Ginny has a pink floor length cloak on in the Chamber of secrets scene in the bookshop. Not sure they have done a good job with that figure. The trio all have the same torso which is very disappointing as they are all wearing their school cloak in that scene but they all have different visible muggle clothes underneath. It's always shocking going from cmf quality characters back to lame limited printed characters that we get in sets. Still very happy with it, some better photos would be good now.

The window is curved so its like Olivanders shop window. The bus window is too big.

Do we think it will live for preorder on lego shop when it is revealed? This wait is torture. I've mocked the old Gringotts already to go with the new set and will probably add some of the missing shop. Can't find purple windows for Madam Malkins shop which is annoying, I can get lavender doors though so that's a start.

it can still work though, you only need one to fill the hollow back so used the orange one and then use 1x1 transparent round brick between the energy effects.

I just had the superhero bag so used that. Cool will have a look for the green ones. Steal away, we are all sharing designs and ideas. Its a snot but with the hollow back and i used a 1x1 round hollow transparent stud to fill the back. Think it came with the Quidittich set.

Just for reference this is what 102 cm looks like using some of my custom (dusty) Diagon Allay that I never finished. Gringots is 20cm tall so the Buildings are a lot taller in the new sets (9cm taller) and the old Olivanders is about 8.5 cm deep so some will go to 13cm deep in the new set. I hope there is a street section included and am still shocked that Gringotts isn't included but more sets for it next year i suppose. I'll just use the old one with it for now.
