I enjoyed the vid but it would've helped if you'd insert pictures of the sets being talked about at the moment they're mentioned, there's plenty room on the sides.

[MOC] Ferrari LaFerrari 1:8

Correct. It's possible to modify things a bit and use a 3L liftarm. I did that at the time, as wasn't yet available in Red. -
[TIP] A perfect fit
astyanax replied to Didumos69's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Another perfect fit: The inner angle of the bent liftarms is such that they can be stacked with half-module offset, maintaining the same alignment on the 'upward' side: -

Those 'specialized' lattice frames may in fact hugely improve the building experience for the 'average' builder. I've seen reviews of a certain enormous crane sold by Mouldy King, and common complaints are that building the booms from many standard parts is 'super boring' and even 'like hell'. -
My kids do, but we live in a Swiss banking city... Especially the Urus is popular here, it seems to be considered as a nice family car...

Evidently there's been a material change in Technic connectors over the past 1-2 years. Nowadays they're much softer to the touch, and in some scenarios they have ways less clutch power. For example try this: Take a and push the studs of a 1x2 plate into the pinholes. Super tight fit! Now take the new version and push the same 1x2 plate's studs into the pinholes. The plate almost falls out by itself... (Of course: YMMV. But this is my experience with many Technic connectors!) -

Just noticed that you went for those barrel-based exhausts like me! In my build, I placed them at a 1-plate offset, like so (this is the right-side exhaust): (And yes they stayed on securely...) -

@n2kar_jw I like the solution with the rigid hose! At the time when I built her, also did not yet exist in Red, so I remodeled this area quite a bit, in order to fit instead. See my video embedded on the first page for the result. Edit: can also be seen on these photos: https://bricksafe.com/pages/astyanax/laferrari_t-lego -

Both those part usages were my idea, happy to see they got incorporated! [[insert sound of triumphant chest-beating]] -

That'd be the first ever usage in a Technic set for this Technic connector.... -

Perhaps we'll see this Pearl Dark Gray axle-pin used a lot in MOCs where a Blue axle-pin would otherwise be too visible and distracting -- provided the friction isn't needed.- 5,507 replies

Perhaps you possess additional information, but from the pictures it's not clear to me that the 'red thing' can't be just part 72008. -

Finally I was able to dig up my old building instructions. They came with an additional loose 2-sided page to 'correct' steps 18 and 19. Specifically, the White wheel hubs are replaced by Light Gray ones, and the Light Gray towball-axles are replaced by Black ones. I do not know the reason for these replacements. Perhaps there was a weakness in the White wheel hubs. To be clear: my set 8880 contained all parts for either step 18. Following the corrected step 18, I was left at the end with 4 White wheel hubs and 4 Light Gray towball-axles. The new step 19 only contains some clarifications:- 5,507 replies

Ah yes, in the same way, I have 4 of in Black, which came with 8880 Super Car when I bought it in 1994. But Rebrickable vehemently denies this part exists in Black...- 5,507 replies
