astyanax replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@1gor I recently found out about the existence of part 23922: one of very few 'small' parts featuring a towball socket. It might give some possibilities. But maybe not. I don't have it to experiment with.- 5,507 replies

In fact we had a discussion about this on the previous page (119).- 5,507 replies

Unfortunately no. The amount of (technic) parts with towball socket is annoyingly limited IMO.- 5,507 replies

@SNIPE This is exactly the version that spurred me to implement wheel arch panels myself, because I was disgusted by the way they were implemented on this knockoff. You can download the virtual model of my version here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-89859/astyanax/pimp-my-pista-ferrari-488-pista-by-brunojj1/ Photos:

Impossible LEGO
astyanax replied to Boxerlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If I'm not mistaken, even making a single node in the wall (connecting 6 beams with 6 blue 3L pins) is impossible... -
If the bar slides out without taking the pin with it, try using instead a bar in a transparent color -- those seem to have more friction.

@Igor1 lovely! So what's the verdict on the red half-pins? Do they have friction ridges?

I do not make, enforce, or endorse the site rules, but they can be found here: It appears quite clear that non-Lego stuff should only be discussed in the Community forum. Exceptions seem to be possible; see e.g. the topic about brunojj1's model of the Ferrari 488 Pista, which was for a while moved to the Community forum but then moved back to Technic. Not sure if these were different admins, nor what internal discussions led to the double move. So it seems, in case of grey zone stuff, some leeway is possible. It's not really on topic here though. Maybe a new thread is in order? I don't feel like starting this argument, but it seems to keep coming up. Oh well.- 5,507 replies

BrickLink catalogue even contains a 16L thin liftarm... Probably a prototype, and probably too fragile... https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=11003- 5,507 replies

I'd rather see much more diversity in small liftarms and connectors. For example, a 2x2 liftarm, or pin with perpendicular axle hole.- 5,507 replies

Right. Recently I got myself a ball socket in a tight space by pushing the studs of into the pinholes of such that the socket was between the axle holes. In that configuration, I could still run an axle through the axle holes. Perfect fit. :)- 5,507 replies
