  1. You should embed the video into your first post, it's really cool!
  2. But who'd let their kids play with their Lego?! So irresponsible....
  3. I'm kinda disappointed about the choice of renderings accompanying the different build sections. Expand the spoiler to see what I mean. It starts so well. For bags 1, 2, and 3 we get nice renderings of the salient part of what's about to be built. Especially the 3rd image is cool, as it shows the frame alone. But then for bags 4, 5, 6, and 7 they drop the ball and just show the finished car from different angles. What gives?
  4. I really don't wanna promote any different model here, but just wanted to show you what "click-brrrr" would look like, especially in case of a high-speed motor (or 2). I think the difference in gear ratio would actually need to be exaggerated more, because honestly, the spinning difference is hardly noticeable like this... (But yes, while driving the difference is in fact clear.)
  5. Possibly. But you need a construction that can be yanked and pushed, as well as rotated. There might've been a discussion about this in the corresponding paddle shifter thread, perhaps it's worth digging up.
  6. But it says so right on page 34... in English and German...
  7. Has there actually been ANY noticeable change to BrickLink since the acquisition? (apart from firming up on tax compliance)
  8. It seems to me a UCS Technic set offers 2 kinds of value: building experience and display value. Here I count the premium packaging and unboxing experience as part of the building experience. The technical features, including gearbox, are also part of the building experience, not the display value. The fact that you can occasionally pick up the model and go through the gears is not 'playing'; it's merely a way of re-living part of the building experience. Thus, the technical features need not be practical to operate (no HOG) and their effect need not be easy to observe (pistons covered). The above is just my interpretation of the UCS Technic line... not my desire as to how it should be....
  9. They should allow you to upload a csv wishlist, that'd solve browsing. I made a script that takes my wishlist from Rebrickable and clicks through PaB to find all available items. Problem is, I can't actually place an order after the script has created a shopping cart, as the website (correctly) identifies me as a bot.
  10. I once consider cutting longer pins too, but then I figured I could just get them by the bucketload from aliexpress....
  11. As we say in my mother tongue: an item is worth whatever the fool will pay for it....
  12. @shroomzofdoom Thanks for contracting them and sharing the information. I got nothing else positive to say...
  13. @thekoRngear Indeed, I meant the stock Ferrari gearbox should be different from the stock Sian gearbox. I'm fine with copying the pimped Sian gearbox. But I'm also harboring hope some novel improvements may be found. I'm no gearbox expert though, so I'll humbly accept anything...
  14. But the model has only been out since 2 days... I understand this is a community effort, give them a chance... I'm honestly impressed they already have one of the new panels done!
  15. Are LDraw parts of any use to you? If yes you may want to keep an eye on https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptlist.cgi. For example they already have the new 3x2x5 panel.
  16. Haha we are even more I agreement then. I was just editing my post to say the gearbox shouldn't feel like a copy from the Sian. Then I read your reply saying the same.
  17. Here's my top wishlist: Spring-loaded doors Spring-loaded engine cover See if we can fit some transparent parts for the main headlights HOG steering and shifting Make the pistons in the engine easier to see Put steering wheel at an incline Maybe change the gearbox so that it doesn't just feel like a copy of the Sian's...
  18. So the previous Technic wave was 1 March 2022. We're now 3 months further. But the new parts from the mentioned wave are not in PaB yet. So I guess the 3-month thing was another cynical lie?
  19. It can be argued that black is in fact not a color, so my point still stands. Yes I'm fun at parties...
  20. Spoke too soon... The leftmost panel is coming in Red in set 42145 (Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter). Red seems by far the most "complete" color now. Last year it looked like Lime was getting ahead, but Red is back in force!
  21. I think we're in need of a mods & improvements thread already...
  22. There are really plenty errors... Another example: when placing the engine cover, a sub-assembly thereof disappears... Actually it doesn't disappear -- it's rotated 90 degrees forward if you look carefully.
