  1. I'm surprised we knew about the winter wave so early. LOL
  2. Didn't we already have wildlife rescue sets? But I do look forward to arctic.
  3. I wonder what the other four town related sets will be. I hope two of them are a post office and petrol station.
  4. As far aa police vehicles are concerned, at least Lego has an excuse now. City Adventures is pretty much how Chicago PD and The Rookie look in the Lego universe, only child friendly. It is a police show.
  5. Ok! So 60357, 60358, 60359, 60360, 60365, 60366, 60381 and 60383 are the ones I look forward to the most. For 60357, I hope its an actual money transporter owned by City Bank (like the one included in the 2018 Mountain Police subtheme) and not another red vehicle for the criminals. That would actually be pretty cool to use with my bank. 60358, I also look forward to because it sounds like a spiritual revival of the police pontoon plane fro 2008. I hope 60359 includes an actual museum. Good for my town. Please don't let 60360 just be a 4+ set. That would be sad. Same with 60365, which is supposed to be a tow truck, something we haven't seen since 2020. If that is a regular set and not a 4+, that will be an immediate buy for me. 60366 has to include a large haul and that one is one of the first sets I may buy given that it sounds as though the Cargo subtheme is trying to buck back. 60381 also sounds pretty promising as I haven't seen an actual 18 wheeler since 2010. 60383 will be one I look at too.
  6. I think it was removed. I tried finding it but it wasn't there. EDIT: I found it. But the thread was closed.
  7. So with this being said, I guess its time for the Lego City 2023 page to be put up.
  8. Ok! Forget everything else. I wanna see some more Octan merch. Speaking of Octan merch, I'm gonna get one of those Octan baseball caps.
  9. Ah yes! Gran Turismo; a game of my adolescents period. I had this car in my garage on GT3 and it was my fastest vehicle. I was winning races left and right with this thing. Your Lego MOC of it got everything just right by Lego standards. Great Job! 👍
  10. Nice job! I love what you did with the lights there and the back area.
  11. Ikr! Being surprised is why I consider the 2020s another golden age for City. That's always been my frustration with City during the 2010s. They were just that predictable. Every year, in winter, we had a surplus of police sets and some great vehicles - most of which weren't very interesting. Then during the summer, we'd have explorers and only two town sets - the only sets I really looked forward to then. We occasionally got surprise sets. But they're were so far in between that I began to give up hope. But then the 2021 came along and sorta messed that hopelessness up. Given that we've never gotten an apartment building in City before. Sorry but the house looks more like that than a house. Also instead of a specialized unit of police sets, Lego decided to actually use their heads and expand the classic police sets that we got the previous year (2020) by giving us what we didn't get (i.e. a prisoner transport and a police boat). Then came 2022; a school, an early released hospital (the past 3 had a 6 year waiting period), two buses (one came with the school and another comes with the train station) and a grocery store (which I had the honor of finally picking up from the Lego store last Thursday). A SCHOOL AND A GROCERY STORE!!!!!! First time ever in City. All those goodies made me forget about the police and fire. That's another reason why 2022 was so good. All three first responders (police officers, firefighters and doctors) were represented properly. Little side, we also got a Harley (the Touring Stunt Bike), which I have to say is my favorite vehicle this year. Sorry for all the babbling, but this year really excited me. With that being said, I really look forward to what 2023 holds for City.
  12. @TeriXeri So the hospital is still going to be around another year? Awesome!
  13. WOW!!!!!! As a former bus driver myself, I say you got the model spot on by Lego standards. I used to drive one of these for the DC Area transit system. They are some powerful vehicles, lemme tell ya. Now if Lego were do a more generic version of a bendy bus like this, it would be something I would pay for. To be honest, if not for the fact that it was my first love, its encouragement through creations like this that make me wanna go back to the transit system.
  14. 90s Town Theme Revival Idea: Paradisa So a theme that I kinda wish Lego would bring back under the City theme is Paradisa. The Paradisa subtheme would be a City-cannon alternative to Friends, but it's for girls who'd rather play with minifgures than race-oriented minidolls. Paradisa, like it did back in the 90s, would focus primarily on women's activity such as entertainment venues, fitness centers or other shops and restaurants. Most of the minifigs in these sets would be women. But the buildings and vehicles involved would be gender neutral. So boys can add them to their towns if they wanted to. Just an idea.
  15. Yeah! I never viewed City as catering to one gender though. When I said what I said, I was also talking about the town planning sets such as a doughnut shop and the capital. Then there was the female battalion from the 2019 fire station. I've always seen Lego's town set division as being the only one to cater to a unisex crowd. From the 90s to the present day, there was female presence. Especially in the Paradisa theme. Speaking of Paradisa. I wish they'd bring that one back. I'll speak more on that on this page.
  16. OK!!!!! I'm not sexist. But I think a lot of those sets were made to get girls into the theme. Think about it, which gender would more than likely play with a school, town home (which looked more like a condo) or supermarket before they play with a police station, fire station or a train (I would've said hospital - but that feels more unisex targeted)? Once again, I'm not sexist. But that's just something to think about.
  17. So guys! I have bad news. Remember that rumor about Lego flipping the kill switch on the school day set from City? Well.....Sadly that rumor is true. When I went to the Lego store to pick up my supermarket, I got confirmation from a worker there that they're discontinuing it early due to lack of sales. Matter of fact, the last four that were in that store were on the discount table. So with that being said, if you have plans to get that set, there is no time like the present to head to a Lego store or any of your local department stores that may have it and snag while you can. Ouch! Sales numbers must've been really terrible on that set. It's not even the end of the year yet and they're already making plans to throw that one into the lions den.
  18. People will prolly argue and say it's the high speed passenger train. But the school and supermarket are the best 2022 City sets in my book. Those are city related topics that have never been covered in the City theme before. I actually see hope for this theme. I wonder what they've got in store for next year.
  19. Hey guys! I finally got the grocery store set. Its a pretty amazing set. Had to build a roof for it of course. I also got the touring stunt bike as well as it is supposed to be the vehicle that the prime minister of my town uses. I did say he rode a Harley, which is what the touring stunt bike seems to resemble.
