LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
My only disappointment is that I was hoping for a forest explorers subtheme with ancient castle ruins and hidden treasure. At least it would give us some closure with castle and pirates. Though closure with the latter can be done in Divers, which is supposed to return in the summer. -
Yup! Bother! My cover has been blown. Well....it was inevitable that it would come out someday. It'll be up soon enough. Right now, I'd have to give you the dreaded response.......its on my desk. So I haven't enough room at the moment. When I get my Lego room, it'll come up much faster. Yup! City is probably THE best Lego theme out there for town planners. Modulars are good too. But that's for serious Lego town planners. I'm just a rookie. What's your City like?

I'm starting to regret proposing City 13+. If you look at the age range, you'll see that's basically what the modulars are. If you ask me, they should make more than one a year. But I do understand why they don't as it does take a while to plan those out. -

How about City XL? Bad joke back there. But that's something I can agree on too. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Personally, when I buy a set, I buy it to build what's on THAT box and I mod it if need be. But I don't buy sets just for that parts. I have Bricklink for that. When I MOC, I build my buildings from the bottom up with loose bricks that I get from the classic brick boxes. If I don't like it, I'm going to speak. Tbh, I am sick of people saying that I complain. I'm simply making my observations about a set or a group of sets in an honest and straightforward manner. -

I say Divers because it's more straightforward and much easier for single digit children to understand. Ocean Exploration is too much of an advanced term. Divers is simpler. -
German Toy Fair – LEGO To Increase Focus On AFOLs

Hey! I agree with you 100%. Someone has to be civil on the internet for once. There are too many people who get bent out of shape online over something small when we've got bigger crap on our shoulders (i.e. the death of Kobe or the Coronavirus). This is a small matter and it shall be treated as such. Let's just say that some of the best Lego waves came from "He wants-She wants" arguments at both board meetings and on forums like this. Take the 2020 City wave for example. Obviously some boys wanted to be cops while others wanted to be mechanics. Thus why we got one of the best winter waves since 2017. However, we should keep our wishlists reasonable. By reasonable, I mean in line with what Lego wants to push. That's why instead of my initial plan, I proposed a AFOL extension (City 13+) to an already made theme (City). One that I would consider THE most popular theme made by Lego. Heck! If it weren't for the town related themes, Lego wouldn't be as successful as it is today. -

It does kinda feel like that. Better it sound like a board meeting than a war of words. -

@TeriXeri @HereWeGoAgain I hope the new submarine looks like this, but bigger. Overall, I'm glad to see Divers make a return this summer. Though I think it would've been better if it were to stay called Divers instead of being called Ocean Exploration. Well....I'm calling it Divers. So there! -

Yeah! But the only issue is......its roof was hard to remove. They could've easily put on an easy to remove roof like they did with the 2018 bus. Well if they use that logo for the transit system, they'd have to change the logo on the cargo train because transit systems don't have cargo trains. I've always thought they should've put this symbol on the cargo train, since its already green and it would be pretty cool if the cargo train was owned by the same company that handles cargo by road and air. Maybe it would be possible for a special edition re-release or something.

German Toy Fair – LEGO To Increase Focus On AFOLs

I actually didn't have modulars in mind when I gave the proposal. I actually had something that is a step above the regular City sets - but more focused on town planning than vehicles. Buildings would be more detailed both in and out. Instead of fronts, buildings could have removable roofs. Printed pieces would be used instead of stickers. Unless stickers is just the better option. -

I can say that about a lot of things Lego does. It's not a product line. Lego is the product line. City is just a theme under the product line. I'm actually a business major. I study these things. I see potential in a 13+ spin off of Lego City. -

Yeah! But what about adults who want to build a city, but don't want to use modulars or the buildings that City or Creator offers? Maybe City should add a line of 13+ sets to its roster. How about City 13+. I mean.....12 is the usual age limit for their sets. -
That's for the railroad industry. Yes, they did use that on the bus from 2017, but it wasn't really original. Making the bus blue instead of yellow and calling it "City Transit" or something like that would be original. I'm thinking a blue body with orange wheels to make it stand out. I've got a Matchbox bus like that. Its actually my favorite vehicle.
