  1. @MAB Actually there are subthemes. City's subthemes are similar to the way Creator does its thing: 3in1, Expert and Modular <<< though I think the last one goes into Creator Expert. So for City, we currently have Police, Fire, Great Vehicles, Turbo Wheels and Space. Just to name a few. (I'm going according to what we have as of 2020). Those are subthemes. Subthemes is just a saying that Lego and its fandom uses for the City theme (the theme itself) to organize the jobs that are showcased the most by groups. Standalone buildings, random vehicles, town planning sets and accessories don't get a subtheme and are sent into either Town or Great Vehicles. That's just how I see it. But it's ok if you don't see it that way. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree there.
  2. Why have them in separate subthemes under City when they can been all under the City Police subtheme? That's also a good question too. But noooooo! They have to be separate subthemes under City with 4 or more sets under the subtheme. They can't just do what they did with the two 2020 fire sets and just throw them out there subtheme free without a headquarters.
  3. City Set Ideas So I decided to rename my mini series "City Set Ideas" instead of "City Set Wishlists" as most of these aren't even likely to happen. Bus Barn - The office could be a similar size to the doughnut shop. You'll need a lift to repair buses. Inculudes and blue city bus, a school bus similar to the one from that Friends set and a two story bus similar to the one from 60200. Octan Auto Repair Shop - Yea we got the tuning workshop. I know. Vita Rush Juice Van - a food van just like the ice cream truck and pizza van. Police Academy People Pack - includes Wheeler, Duke DeTain, Rooky Partnur, Sam Grizzler and Tom Bennett Shopping District - A mega set idea. Includes a carry out pizza parlor, pet store, post office, convenience store and some vehicles.
  4. Yeah! It seems as though this year, City is basing some of their vehicles off of real cars like the Ford Mustang and Volkswagen van.
  5. Aye! Every morning, instead of bright blue skies, I'll be seeing more crime than you'd see in Lego City.
  6. The Lego community is so enormous that if Lego were to become extinct, the end of the world would come very quickly.
  7. I would've liked to have seen pictures. But then again, I do understand that Lego may not want to upset its City fans. They already did that with the first version of My City. Some guy fof the company once told me that some of the buildings you could put in your city in the first game were actually cancelled buildings. I could believe that in a way considering that Lego wouldn't just put buildings in a game without make toy versions unless they had to.
  8. @jonwil You know about cancelled City sets?
  9. I hope one of the people packs that's released this year is a downtown people pack with different works like the one that was released in 2005.
  10. I wonder if I can still find one of those basketball sets on Bricklink. In my opinion, any line of work that really appeals to boys (i.e. cops, firefighters, automotive, pilots, sailors, athletes, etc) deserves a subtheme under City. Perhaps the designers of City sets just doesn't know that there may be little boys that are interested in a sports subtheme. That's our job as older fans - to get the younger ones interested. However, considering that there wouldn't be any vehicles......it probably wouldn't fit what City wants to push. Don't forget that In/Out subthemes exist for a reason. They are one and done. If Lego can't keep it for City, then it could be a one year special.
  11. To be honest, the 60246 Police Station is starting to grow on me. I may have to make some modifications for it to fit my town. But they turned out to be minor after seeing a quick build and review video.
  12. Looks like something I could use in my town. My oldest daughter would love this. She's a Friends fan.
  13. I would agree. The cops, eskimos, astronauts, firefighters and criminals are what's normal for City. Except....I said the same about my line of work (the automotive industry). But look at what we've got now for City. We got an entire subtheme dedicated to the auto industry called Turbo Wheels. This is actually the second City subtheme focused on the automotive industry since 2009, that being the Garage subtheme. I'd think that a sports subtheme wouldn't be too far behind.
  14. You mean this one? I think they should too.
  15. ...and the kids who watch shows like Ninjago or my personal favorite......Lego City Adventures.
  16. Ok! I'm used to going on the official site. But let me try Bricklink out.
  17. Its for my service station. I'll think about Bricklink. Would they give you your money back if the part turns up damaged or anything like that?
  18. I would like to obtain that jack piece. Maybe I could find on ebay.
  19. Unless there are KFOLs who do that, that would kinda be unfair! Do you think?
  20. Hmmmm...... It would be nice to see a nod to the old motorcycle shop again. We did get the tuning workshop, but that set gives me more of a vibe to the this set more than the motorcycle shop. Though you consider the tuning workshop a cross between the two.
  21. There was a Plsymobil movie? Didn't know that.
  22. City Set Wishlist 4 Telephone Repair - I'm thinking of a present day version of Town Jr set number 6422. Light Repair Truck - a cross between 3179 and 60004. It would have to be six stud wide though to be within today's City standards. Windmill - If power functions has anything to do with this, get ready to save up your allowances kids or ask mom and dad to buy it for your birthday. This will not be cheap. Sorta reminds me of that wind turbine set from 2009. Only the windmill would be standalone with some type of 4x4. Barbed Wire Transport - Maybe with some of that string, Lego could make it work. These were actually part of a Power subtheme idea. I actually scrapped it. But I thought I'd share it with you guys anyway.
  23. Well thank goodness for that. I'm for making wishlist for things that have never been done by City before as long as they are reasonable. I only give ideas that are reasonable. If it's not reasonable to you, that means either one of two things. My ideas are not targeting your age range or you're just too narrow minded. I'm not talking about you as a person, I mean "you" as in people in general. Hey! This is from a car guy to another car guy. Why practically got four car past related subthemes in one. I'm all for them coming to for wishing too.
  24. @MAB Well sorry for the misunderstanding! I didn't comprehend that. Where I come from, when someone says "That's already happened!" that means "That's all you're gonna get! Now take your butt outta here!". Then again, I do live in DC where people aren't very welcoming to old ideas. So that's the issue. Overall....that's sorta what I had in mind - only with a little office to accommodate it. I was also thinking of an actual plumber's van that's about the size of the police van from set number 60245. As for the port-a-loo, one similar to that one in the service truck was in my head too. Though I was responding to another member's comment.
