Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I wonder if updated versions of the Hogwarts Express and the Weasley Flying Car are in the works. -
German Toy Fair – LEGO To Increase Focus On AFOLs
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
City hit its golden age from 2006 to 2009 and I was still a kid then. The only difference is that I have more money on me than I did then back during the days when I was getting an allowance of $20. From my point of view, City hit its dark age in 2012. -
German Toy Fair – LEGO To Increase Focus On AFOLs
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm not taking sides here. But I think what he was saying was that....well.....10% is THE number of AFOLs. It probably won't get any higher than that. Most people outgrow Lego (and no LEGO hate here. Just telling it like it is) and don't stay fans until they're grown. Its only the dedicated fans that do that. As the years go by, new KFOLs come as old ones outgrow Lego. So as long as Lego exists, at least 90% will always be kids. As much as I agree with you and wish that Lego would take us seriously or listen to us, they're not going to do that. Especially not for its generic themes like City, Friends, Creator, etc. -

Whoa dude! Calm down. I wouldn't want one of our board meetings to turn ugly. -

[Poll] What's Your Favorite Modern Space Theme?

Well.....its not like Legos method for the City theme is leaving anytime soon. Might as well deal with it and have some fun. -
German Toy Fair – LEGO To Increase Focus On AFOLs

Just because they've been here for years doesn't mean that they know everything. I've collected things forever and have studied TLG's annoyingly repetitive patterns. But I just discovered this forum. See? If something like that were said..... I could respect that more than "Shaddup! TLG knows what they're doing." "They don't need you commenting on their work" "If you don't like, don't buy. But keep your mouth shut you prat!" ....or comments similar to those. Exactly! That's why I think being silenced or told "that will never work" without even giving it a chance, makes doing that less fun. For me personally, I'm sometimes afraid to put my ideas out there or when i do, i have to word it a certain way so people won't start tempering my ideas. When you're told that your ideas won't work, you can't help but feel disappointment or discouraged. Personally I hide my disappointment with rage or fury. -

That there has been my issue with this forum. It's because of responses like that which makes me wish I never joined this forum. Look at it from a business standpoint. If you are the CEO of a business and you want to push a certain type of product, of course that particular product you make is going to sell if that's almost the only thing you push. That's like rigging sales data. You've got to distribute your products in a method that's reasonable. You can't just push only one thing and pass that as your best seller. -

I also thought space police was pretty cool. Tbh I wouldn't mind if they revived that under City as the police wave for 2021. Having a plot twist for City that Vito from City Adventures is actually an alien from outer space? So much fun! -

I would too. I only had one set from the last Indiana Jones wave and that was the one with the boulder.- 438 replies

COVID-19 and will it impact Lego's profits?

I think it would just affect people there. Other places in the world, it won't affect. -
Should LEGO Bring Back Raised Base Plates
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I hated raised baseplates. They just looked a little off on City sets. -

I stand corrected on my statement then. If they add those things, then it would definately sell. -

Those are the ones I was mainly referring to. I think those are probably the best space sets to be released. Though the ones in 2011 and 2015 were awesome too! -

Hey Klaus! Long time and no see. Its me, Pooda! Yeah man! I totally agree. I personally thought airport was going to be next year, but this year is good too. Though the airport wave is disappointing as I did expect something much bigger. I personally would love to see a subtheme centered around the TV 6+ news company, though I'm not expecting more than three sets (such as a news station, news chopper that's about the same size as the helicopter from 60243 and a mobile weather unit). As for the explorers subthemes......come on Lego, surprise me with a wildlife exploration subtheme that has never been done before in City. What about the forest? What about the desert? I would also love to see a harbor too. It may not sell, but I would definately buy. Though I already have a MOC convenience store that was used from the body of the doughnut shop. -
@TeriXeri The houses from 3in1 are definately connected to City. Heartlake City is basically Lego City from a girl's perspective because in reality, city life for girls means things like shopping, hanging out, entertainment and things like that. To boys, city life is about danger and adrenaline. Creator is from the point of view of adults, thus why everything seems normal. I think that's why Lego does what they do with these three. I think City, Creator and Friends are tied for first place when it comes to the most popular Lego themes. That's just pure speculation. You'll have to research that for yourself.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I agree! I would love to see a Harbor! It'll bring some closure on where the darn harbors have been over the past years. It would definately work with the new divers sets coming out. That and coast guard is one of those guaranteed subthemes that comes every 4 years. So that is to be anticipated upon. -

The town subtheme of City. We're only getting one this year instead of the two we usually get.
