  1. Thank ye for the kind words! Only trouble I found with the head is that it doesn't have a stubble, other than that it works the best out of all the options. At first, I did consider using a single plate for the base but ever since nowadays LEGO loves to use multiple smaller plates to create the shape, i thought it wouldn't look too bad at all, but I see yer point. I added the torch as a lovely new addition, while giving the build a little colour contrast. Thank ye for the feedback!
  2. Ahoy there! After the mini set category opened for this magnificent contest, I convinced meself to try my hand at designing a remake of a classic set. So, out of many small sets that were released during the original line up of Classic Pirates, I chose 6232 Skeleton Crew (released in 1996), as that is the first Classic Pirates set I obtained (out of the two Classic Pirates sets I own ). Here be the original set: And here be my own modern take on this not so well known classic set: (Thanks to @Yperio_Bricks for the edited background! ) I recreated the box art shot of this set, though left out the barrel, but for a good reason. At first I tried to add background art to this picture through Photoshop. Alas, I failed to do so, instead keeping it as it is. And here is the build without its supporting minifigures. The build consists of exactly 50 pieces (including minifigures, which, I believe are also part of the piece count). This new version of the beloved build has an additional feature and a torch to it. And a frog is included too, which is one of LEGO's most common addition to sets these days. There is also a handle on the edge of a rock, that indicates that a play feature is present. Grabbing the handle and moving the rock reveals a secret treasure, hidden underneath the rocks. Perhaps that be the skeleton's gold. And here be the back of this build, not too imposing, but a sloped rock is present so that the skeleton may rest from the burning sun. And that be all to this remake! Thank ye for yer time viewing my entry. Hope to hear helpful advice for improving this build, should it be needed. Jack Sassy
  3. I could imagine LEGO doing a pirate pub set.
  4. He seems to add a like to every comment.
  5. Aye, I shall! By the time I am done there won't be a single pirate pub in sight.
  6. Most of me brick collection is already being used for other creations of mine... But, I shall indeed play around with what I have and perhaps an idea will emerge.
  7. Seems tempting, but I be not sure that I am up for the task. Will have to think on it for few days.
  8. Would love to see this lad in some future aventures. He is a talented young designer. Great LEGO MOC designing future awaits him under yer guidance.
  9. A fine MOC yer nephew, Master Black has created. In all seriousness, I love all the little details included and having just the right amount to make this seem as an actual set (especially the brothel ). An astounding job has been done here, praise to ye both! (I appreciate the story line that ties in with the Barracuda Bay. ) Also, if I recall correctly, torn sleeves was a sign of betrayal among the ranks of Imperial soldiers. So, Sergeant Laquay has some explaining to do. Oh no, yer welcome!
  10. I be not a critic but I hope me comments here are not verboten. Ye have created a cute little MOC. Looks like a geniune LEGO set, if LEGO released full Pirates waves. Good job! Aye, one can never have too many of them.
  11. Truly a beautiful looking vessel, especially at the bow. I appreciate that she comes with three full decks. An astounding job!
  12. They look magnificent. Now we shall wait until LEGO releases a set with redcoats.
  13. That would be lovely. Such potential for so many new characters.
  14. Ah, I didn't know that. Thank ye for the information!
  15. Ah, I see. Haven't noticed the pattern before, thank ye! Indeed, but let us keep that conversation in the Indy topic.
  16. Perhaps it will be the flagship set of the theme (like with the Indy revival ) with multiple smaller ones being revealed later.
  17. I believe Palace Cinema fits that criteria too.
  18. Seems to be a recurring problem as of late. It all started out with pearl gold elements. Perhaps it has been this way always, just not as much as now?
  19. Copy the picture's link over here and it will appear. If ye wish to display it only as a link then click on ''Display as a link instead'' at the black box below the picture. Hope this helps!
  20. A wonderful MOC! Love all those details ye added, rock face is beautiful, just as the house. Outstanding work!
  21. 1) Green Grocer: Such a beautiful building with a lovely minifigure selection. While interior might not be its strong suit, the exterior certainly is. I have far too many fond memories of looking at this set as a teenager. 2) Detective's Office: In my opinion, it has the best play features and story out of all of them. The buildings are pleasing and go well with that 1940s detective story look. 3) Assembly Square: The only one out of these three that I own . Biggest of the entire bunch and has so many possibilities, three buildings with so many rooms and businesses. And of course, the beautiful square itself.
  22. A lovely design, I do appreciate that your interiors are (more or less ) in line with the time period of 2007 and 2008. Good job! @Berthil yer designs are also lovely! I like the modern take on the interiors.
  23. Aye, that be a good idea indeed. I shall eagerly await the final product.
