  1. Was messing around on Lego Ideas this morning and it looks like Crash Bandicoot has joined the elite and mysterious club of “License Conflict”. Looked a little further and it’s the same with Spyro, World of Warcraft, and the rest of Activision-Blizzard’s properties. So I guess Lego cut ties with the company entirely.
  2. Love this! If we never end up getting an official expansion you might have to make instructions.
  3. Still think it’s gotta be either a diorama of the Idol Temple from Raiders or some sort of buildable object/life-sized object collection. Either sounds amazing, and the only thing that sounds better is being totally surprised by something we weren’t expecting
  4. It also doesn't help that the character has something of an identity crisis. It's really difficult to grow a brand around a character that get's erased and rebooted every 5 or so years, which leaves someone like Lego in a weird position. Nintendo recognizes this, so in addition to pushing merch for whatever game is the most recent, they also keep Toon Link around since he's really merchandisable, fits in well with the other Nintendo mascots, and has kid appeal. More recently, they've even started using a generic Link that's sort of an amalgamation of all the other recent Links, but I could only see a Lego theme really working if they were willing to dip into the whole back catalogue of Zelda games.
  5. Wow, I didn't see until now that 76990 is $19.99 for 292 pieces. I guess we shouldn't be expecting any new molds in that one.
  6. I would’ve preferred Zelda, but Sonic is great too! It’s gonna be exciting to finally get the rest of the characters after all these years, and a $100 set definitely gets my imagination going as to what it could possibly be.
  7. Has Lego ever pushed forward a release before? They’re taking a pretty big risk by releasing Avatar 2 and Dial of Destiny sets a bit after the films release date, and if that doesn’t end up paying off for Avatar they might want to push forward the Indy 5 sets. I’m sure the odds of this happening are next to none though since these dates are locked in literal years in advance.
  8. Honestly it’s nuts that they haven’t put a Luma in one of these character packs yet. Like they’re super popular and memorable characters, but they just give us repeats and recolors instead.
  9. Love it, all you need now is the speaker on top! A Bluesmobile set has been on my wishlist ever since Speed Champions started doing movie cars, and this comes pretty close to what an official set would probably look like.
  10. That would be literally so funny yet so disappointing but I could totally see it happening
  11. Wow, after all this time Lego Games ended up being real. I'm gonna be a bit disappointed if it just ends up being based on sports (especially soccer since we just got that foosball table), but it's a start! As for the set numbers, these are the ones from this time last year. It'll be interesting if they end up being used since they're sandwiched between a canceled wave and a one-off set from half a year ago.
  12. Totally agree, I think Lego just loves hiding Adventures easter eggs in stuff. In the last few years alone we saw Johnny Thunder in a cmf, tons of references in the haunted house, that poster in the Atari set, some cameos in the various Lego movies, and two of the three ninjago city sets had Adventures easter eggs. And if every easter egg teased an upcoming set, we'd have Metal Gear Solid by now. Lol don't even joke about these things
  13. For the longest time they’ve been using that same inaccurate hair piece for Gamora, but in the new trailer her hair actually resembles the old hair piece pretty closely lol
  14. It wouldn't really fit into any of the sets from this upcoming wave, but never say never! If it moves sets, I'm sure Lego could find a way to make it work.
  15. Hey, that trailer looks really promising. I'm trying to keep expectations low since Lego has had a pretty shaky track record with movie tie-ins in recent years and we're only getting four sets, but here's my wishlist: A smaller set with the Tuk Tuks and maybe a couple market stalls A set based on Indy riding the horse in the parade with some period accurate cars or maybe some parade floats (we've never really gotten those in Lego aside from the Lunar New Year stuff) Something from that cool under water sequence (been feeling a little nostalgic for the old Atlantis sets lately) The train scene with young Mads and Indy in some form. Unfortunately, set photos show that it's absolutely plastered in swastikas and eagles so I don't know if that's all to likely I'm assuming we're still pretty far out from official pictures since we're just getting January reveals at this point, but here's to hoping Lego teases us with a minifigure or something by the end of the year
  16. That would be so in character of Lego to give us minifigure sets based on the movie before propper minifigure sets based on the games
  17. Pretty good video summarizing the Lego Ideas Zelda theory we were talking about last week.
  18. It would appear that Lego Ideas has cut off submissions for projects based on The Legend of Zelda due to “License Conflicts”. This either means that there’s zero chance of getting Lego Zelda in the foreseeable future, or Lego has finally read the room and secured the license. Not to give anyone false hope, but the same thing happened about a year before the announcement of Mario, Horizon, and Transformers.
  19. Not really a huge fan of any of the Jurassic World movies, but I'd probably buy a set based on the opening scene from the second one if it had the mosasaurs, the submarine, and the indo rex's skeleton. They could even throw in the helicopter to help reach their undersized chopper quota for the year.
  20. It's a lot of fun to think of all the sets they could make, but yeah if we ever end up getting mor Doctor Who it's probably just gonna be brickheadz
  21. If you asked me a year ago, I would’ve said there’s no way we’d ever get another Doctor Who set from Lego. However, Doctor Who is sort of in an Avatar situation right now where a brand with not a whole lot of current mainstream appeal suddenly gets a huge marketing push in conjunction with a reboot. They’re doing a similar thing with LOTR and Indiana Jones next year, so getting more Doctor Who might not be too far-fetched.
  22. He leaked the two biggest releases of last year then disappeared off the face of the planet. Absolute chad.
  23. I've had my eye on that one for a while too! Love all the oversized builds and the references to specific games, but I might have to wait for a sale
  24. Haven’t been on the Marvel board in a while, but just had to drop in to say I feel so sorry for you guys. Two in a row…geez
