Wow, if that’s how big ~200 pieces is with this scale, I find it hard to believe that some of the sets with 500+ pieces are going to be made for the board game system. I’m really starting to think that at least 71368 and 71369 will be minifigure scale.

A Target insider just stated that the starter set will cost $70.00 and confirmed an August release date. Source: https://gonintendo.com/stories/358512-target-internal-systems-list-the-lego-super-mario-starter-set-as

Wow, this is the most un-Lego thing that Lego has done in a long time. While the builds range from not great (the goombas) to pretty alright (Bowser Jr.), that Mario figure reminds me a bit too much of Galidor. This time yesterday, I was under the impression that Nintendo could be an evergreen theme to the likes of Star Wars or at least an annual theme like Harry Potter. Now I’m worried that we’ll never get minifigures. If all Lego has planned for Nintendo is electric non minifigure scale board games, I doubt we’ll get more that a single wave. Hopefully it’s not too late to save this theme.

Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

All I’m saying is that a Jeep or Explorer would’ve gone a long way, and might have actually motivated me to fork over the $200 or so to get this set. -

We seem to all be a bit divided here, so I made a couple polls out of curiosity. General Reaction Poll Build Opinion Poll -

Just saw the set. Not terrible by any means, but still disappointing. I feel like set would have my complete support if it had either the explorer or the Jeep. Nonetheless, the set just feels kinda empty, and Lego definitely made some surprising choices. I was waiting for this reveal to decide whether to buy the Jurassic D2C or Stranger Things D2C. Looks like I’m going for Stranger things... -

A leaked pic of some promo material featuring Dennis Nerdy just surfaced on #legoleaks. Looks like the went with the generic Han Solo hair piece for him. What do you guys think? -
They could use Qi’ra’s hair from Star Wars for Nancy. I think it’d work perfectly, even if it technically is a minidoll piece.

That’s awesome, the back section looks much better in this new version! Is there space for any figs inside?

Wow, this turned out to be a huge mess. I’ve never seen lego take a leak this seriously before. They’re even deleting posts from #legoleaks, which is almost unprecedented. I almost feel bad for Lego considering that they were less two weeks away from an official reveal , and there were barely any leaks. Then again, they should’ve learned their lesson from the Aston Martin failure. These midnight reveals just don’t work, and it’s not a great business practice either. At least the set looks pretty good this time around.

Well, we got sets for Indiana Jones, which features far more graphic depictions of violence and dead bodies than Stranger Things. Not to mention the fact that we got a few sets (including a d2c) based on the Christopher Nolan Batman Trilogy. Also don’t forget that we now have a full Lego theme based on a first person shooter video game. I think we all need to remember that Lego is still a business, and it will bend its rules slightly if it sees a potential new market.

That’s a great idea, I hadn’t even thought of that! I really hope they don’t hold back on this set because it might be our only chance to get these builds.

If the set does turn out to be Joyce’s house, I really hope we can get some side builds in the set too. I feel like Hopper’s cop car or Will’s fort in the woods could translate over to Lego amazingly.

Even though most of these sets are pretty good and have nice figs and dinos, I still feel like this whole sub-theme is a bit of a wasted opportunity. Just imagine if they used the time and budget from these four sets towards four sets from the original trilogy. It’s not that these sets are inherently bad, I just thing that many people would be happier if they’d chose to go a different route with them. -
Man, I though this was all one big troll or hoax up until this point. Glad this ended up being real, or else we’d have a lot of disappointed people (myself included).
