Yikes… well at least it was a fun ride with you guys. It was always really refreshing to see the entire Lego community up in arms about this theme then come here to find actual civil discussion. At the very least it’ll be interesting to see if this is just a refresh (with minifigures or a broader range of Nintendo IPs) or if they’re calling it quits and replacing the line with Sonic.

LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
Portal Out replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I will admit, it’s a little suspicious that not a single set from that leak has even been rumored almost three months later. There’s a decent chance that this just means they’re all coming in 2024 and beyond, but it really feels like they’d want to release the at least the Sail Barge this year to coincide with the Return of the Jedi anniversary, the Snow White cottage to go along with all the other Disney 100 releases, and the X-Mansion alongside X-Men ‘97. The Deku Tree in particular had the type of renders we see on the Lego website (compared to the preliminary shots from some of the others), all the prints were designed, there was a description of the interior, and it generally looked ready to go. it almost makes me a bit worried that some of these sets got cancelled/replaced. We’ve already got a Venator rumored in place of the Sail Barge, the villains books released at the same price as the Maleficent Dragon, and the Ariel shell released at the same price as the Snow White Cottage (with that set’s evil queen fig appearing in the book set too) -
Slow down there bud, that’s a bit of a hot take. Just joking around, welcome to the forums :)

I'm super excited to share my newest project with you all: The Swordfish II It took so many iterations of trial and error to get just right, but I had a ton of fun designing this model and hope I can count on your support! Also, let me know if you have any ideas for how I can improve this project. You guys are really knowledgeable and I want to make this set as good as I can! Here's that project link again, and thanks in advance! SEE YOU SPACE COWBOY... -

Lego and specially this aspect of Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most natural fits I think I’ve ever seen aside from maybe Lego Minecraft …but Lego is still gonna miss the boat and give it to use years late if we even get it at all. -
MOC concept art for Multiverse vacation mansion.
Portal Out replied to Mistresspaige7120's topic in LEGO Licensed
Welcome to the forum, that sketch looks great! Since you asked, I’ve got couple questions/suggestions. First off, are you planning on making this minifigure scale? If you are, a giant mansion for your first MOC is pretty ambitious (not to mention that big MOCs like this usually end up being more expensive than you think!) Also, since it sounds like you’re planning on adding a full interior, I might also recommend leaving the back wall open or at least plan from the start how you can make it removable. Lastly, the modular system might be a tiny bit more trouble than it’s worth. Connecting things like furniture with minimal studs sort of like a lot of official sets do might be your best bet if you want to be able to easily move things around. Otherwise, baseplates and large plates supported by technic beams are always going to be stronger and more efficient. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out! Keep on posting progress pics! P.S. here’s one more tip since you’re new here: you can imbed images by just pasting their address directly into the body of your post. -

Looks like that rumored Pac-Man set is actually an arcade machine! With 2651 pieces, I’m super excited to see what kind of functionality they’re able to pull off. Fingers crossed we’re not gonna have to deal with giant stickers for the sides though 🤞 -

Never underestimate Lego’s poor planning! It’s very possible they wanted to release it as a tie in and just weren’t able to get it on shelves in time (I’d be willing to bet this is why the Tallneck release six months after the Horizon sequel). -

Ok the Just2Good review totally turned me around, that Indy fig looks great. It’s crazy how much if an impact first impressions have. I probably wasn’t going to get the Lost Tomb set, but high quality photos and video totally convinced me -
Bummer, it really looked like this was going to be the year we get minifigures. See you guys next year when we do this same thing over again.

Wow this has to be one of the roughest launches in recent memory This line had multiple rounds of leaks, uncertainty on the nearly ever aspect of the launch, and some of the most mean-spirited fan discourse I’ve ever seen. -

Lol yeah Lego needs to hire a tree consultant or something, some of their recent trees have been a bit iffy. -

Yeah, TT games did not have to go as hard as they did with those designs. Almost 8 years down the line and the coloring on their T-Rex is still the best coloring we’ve seen in my opinion. Their Jeep and Explorer builds both got way closer to minifig scale and had way more brick built details too. -

Looking into it, maybe not as much as I thought. The only one I could remember off the top of my head was a Speed Racer set reusing the exact same 200 piece build in two separate sets. -

These are a big swing and a miss for me. Maybe I just set my expectations for the builds too high after the descriptions and from getting spoiled by the 18+ T-Rex paddock last year. Alan Grant not getting a recolor of the new Indy hair hat combo was a huge missed opportunity. Those Indiana Jones sets were allegedly completed and ready for release last summer before the movie got delayed, so this had to have just been an internal communication issue. Also it's a shame to see Lego return to the practice of reusing builds. The Explorer gets a pass since the diorama is a bit pricier, aimed at a different audience, and will be off shelves sooner, but the Jeep appearing nearly unchanged in two separate sets is kinda crappy. There are some glaring omissions for the minifigures too. I get the 4+ set is made for kids, but I think for 35 bucks they could've at least included one of those workers with the red hardhat. Same goes for the triceratops set, at that price point adding Dr. Harding is the least they could've done. I like the cool 90s looking box art though, even if clashes a bit with the modern looking T-Rex. Honestly call me out if I'm being a bit overly critical. I get these are made for kids, but I genuinely think all these cut corners would've bothered me when I was a kid too. -
First time in a while I’ve been excited for something Lego Mario related. Have they ever done a special presentation like this devoted to an already existing theme?

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I wasn’t too heart broken when the cancellation rumors first started because I wasn’t really a fan of the leaked sets, but now that we have good pics, it’s a pretty big loss. These are some of the most detailed sets we’ve gotten from a play theme in years, and only getting three of the eight that were designed would be a massive fumble on Lego’s end. I get where they’re coming from with the Temple of Doom cancellation situation and it looks like that’s gonna be the case, but the rumors about canceling the DoD wave are just plain sad. -

Sent you a link to their profile. That would be such a disappointing anticlimax, but it’s really starting to look like that might just be the case. -

Somebody crack open the champagne! It’s been a long road, and I’m happy that it sounds like a lot of people are satisfied with what we got -
It's gonna be real weird if this line ends without us ever getting Wario, Waluigi, Daisy, or Rosalina. Those four would be huge draws for any set they're in, so the only explanation I could think of for why they've held off on doing them for this long would be that they were probably keeping them on reserve for digi-figs/starter packs somewhere down the line. Now that there are rumblings of this theme either transitioning to minifigures or ending altogether, I really hope that they'll just bite the bullet and give us all the cool stuff they were saving.

We've already got fig leaks from September's Star Wars Advent Calendar, so we might even get more that just names! Personally, I'm excited just to find out what the heck these sets even are. Did we ever get any clarification about those transparent ball rumors? -

Ooooh…sadly not a fan of this fig. The new fedora ended up way too big, it looks a cowboy hat now. Hopefully the proportions will look better when he has the satchel on too (or it’s just a bad angle). Also, I agree that it’s a weird choice to give this gruff, serious character a cutesy pouting face in an 18+ collectors set. Maybe I’m just nitpicking though. I will say that aside from the creative choices made with the face, the actual design and quality of the prints is excellent! -

Yup, I think our only shots at getting Gennaro were this wave and last year's T-Rex paddock set. At least this theme isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so maybe we'll get him when they start doing remakes of these sets years down the line.
