  1. -Fortnite is about as relevant now as Overwatch was when the 2019 sets released -$250 is further out of the price range of the game's largest demographic than the $80 Sonic set is -Not being minifigure-focused is the same flub that consistently lands Mario course builder sets on the clearance shelf -Being a single large set like the Horizon Tallneck ruins any momentum a potential theme could've had and generally leaves fans disappointed I'm sure this set will end up having a wonderful build and will certainly make a lot of Fortnite fans very happy (assuming it's real), but with all this in mind it's looking like it'll be just another example of Lego not learning from their mistakes.
  2. We probably would've heard about it by now, but it's anyone's guess. Lego has done a competent job at keeping stuff from this theme from leaking (relatively speaking), so it's not totally out of the question.
  3. I'm pretty sure that set was just a collective hallucination caused by a gas leak or something. In fact, this whole theme probably was.
  4. It's currently in stock on the American Shop at Home store, but I've literally never seen it on shelves You might get a better answer if you ask the videogame topic though:
  5. Haha no way we just got an Atari minifigure before we got a Mario minifigure.
  6. It’s been a long week, this is just the news I wanted to hear. I wonder if that $150 one will end up being an 18+ set. Indy’s got plenary of MacGuffins that would work great as buildable objects.
  7. That office set is pretty great. My only complaint with the set itself is that having a studded floor rather than a tiled one makes it look like a MOC, but that's jus personal preference. Also, did anyone else notice that Jim and Ryan are using the same torso? It's not the biggest deal or anything since there are so many figs, but still a bit of a shame that they cheaped out on what's supposed to be a premium set.
  8. The next round of results is coming tomorrow, anyone wanna get in some last minute guesses? I think the Rubix Cube has a pretty strong chance since it doesn't require any specialized parts/prints, it's right in the $20-30 sweet spot, and is probably one of the single most instantly recognizable toys out there. Gremlins also might have a chance too, but I'm not sure if the Dimensions pack sales scared them off. Otherwise, none of the other licenses seem all too likely. Lego clearly has no interest in doing Ghibli or Zelda on Ideas (both have been rejected multiple times), Brooklyn Nine-Nine isn't popular anymore and would have to compete with The Office, Naruto seems a bit out of Lego's wheelhouse, Asterix and Moomin would be doomed to fail like Doctor Who, Stargate has fallen out of relevance, and nobody knows who Johnny 5 is anymore. Maybe Hocus Pocus is popular enough to get a set (the new trailer got a surprising amount of attention), but sadly that set is just to darn big. Regardless, this is a super strong lineup. I'd really love it if Lego picked one of the wildcards like Asterix or Johnny 5 and surprised everyone.
  9. This is gonna sound weird, but did anyone briefly see a couple super low quality images of the sanctum last night? I was working a bit late and checked the usual place just past midnight (west coast of the United States time) and there were a couple accounts posting the same image with a few super crappy shots of the sanctum, but this morning they're gone and nobody is talking about them.
  10. Check out right above the stones, there's a pearl gold recolor of the messenger bag piece sort of wedged there
  11. Looks great, I’m glad it’s not just a recolor of the Infinity Gauntlet. There are definitely some neat techniques that set the two apart. So I guess this means a reveal for the Infinity Saga Collection is imminent then too?
  12. A new Iron Man helmet mold is actually pretty interesting. Honestly between the two molds we have, they've basically covered all their bases unless they're making it for one of the weird one-off suits like the Igor.
  13. Mario movie got pushed back, curious to see what this means for any tie-in sets.
  14. Geeze that’s almost twice as many pieces as the NES, I wonder what it could be. Every time a new wave of rumors starts circulating I tell myself not to get too hyped, but that would rock and I might have already gotten my hopes up already
  15. I honestly don’t really care about Overwatch anymore, but I genuinely hope we end up seeing these sets just because of the mythical status they’ve gained in the almost 3 years since they first started being rumored. I know TLG checks in on theses forums from time to time so if you’re reading this Lego, release the sets. It’d be funny.
  16. A UPC for set 71412 just popped up for $39.99 and a fall release date. Seems weird that they’d hold back on revealing a single set like that unless it was something special and wasn’t associated with the rest of the wave. The numbering is a bit weird too, since it comes numerically after the D2C (which is 71412). Did anything ever become of that minifigure pack rumor or did it just turn out to be hoax?
  17. Robots/mechs like the villains have in Avatar are Lego's bread and butter, I doubt they could resist lol
  18. Oh neat, does this confirm any other rumors by proxy? Who was the first one to leak this Avatar theme, I can't remember
  19. Looks great! I got my hopes up for a Jaws set a while back when TLG ran that brickheadz poll and Jaws was one of the options, but now that it doesn't seem like we're getting anything from them officially, I'm really rooting for this to make it to 10k!
  20. I think this is close to a perfect set aside from the shoe printing on the Marty minifigure. I wonder if the original intention was for him to have dual molded legs, but for whatever reason they decided to go with normal ones midway through the process and forgot to add the additional white printing to the front? That’s the only explanation I can think of, because it looks pretty incomplete. But honestly this is just nitpicking in what’s essentially a bonus. Still an amazing set.
  21. I’ve never bought any of the course building sets aside from a few of the character packs, but I seriously can’t pass up that Goomba boot. I’m sold.
  22. Lol happy to hear it
  23. I might be eating my words come fall, but I really have a hard time imagining them releasing three modular marvel buildings so close together. The only guess that I have that someone else hasn’t said already is a big Iron Man bust. He’s kind of been Lego’s cash cow lately (all those Hulkbusters, mechs, and hall of armors), plus a life size version of his helmet and upper torso with the arc-reactor would fit snugly into that ~$500 range.
  24. Well you never know, it’s Mar10 day next week Honestly though, I hope we’re just completely blindsided by whatever those four sets are. I’m probably setting myself up for disappointment, but it’s been a while since a new theme came out of nowhere and surprised everyone.
  25. Mar10 day is coming up next week, are we expecting any reveals? I remember they revealed the theme on Mar10 day back in 2020, but I can’t remember if they did anything last year.
