  1. Nice showing of troops on both sides. Who is ambushing who?
  2. CoWLUG is holding our white elephant gift exchange tomorrow (delayed until now due to COVID). Hopefully whoever receives this gift is a pirates fan! It looks a little goofy, but modeled my badge bling for the meeting on @Ayrlego's Port Woodhouse style. Luckily has strong magnets on the back.
  3. Yes and no They are official LEGO torsos that have been stripped of their original print and pad-printed with the classic imperial soldier print instead
  4. I really like the little outdoor porch/deck area on the stern. Fun to think about little minifigs hanging out back there
  5. Awesome job!
  6. So awesome @Wellesley! Exceptional work with the rigging and all of the diverse flags
  7. Thanks @Ayrlego & @Kai NRG! The dark orange was inspired by ground colors I see here in Colorado a bunch. The ground is pretty tan/orange/red and arid / sandy, but then it snows quite a bit on top! Also thanks for the minifig lightbox tips @Ayrlego - they helped get a white background on the figbarf pic! Thanks @Khorne! I have a few more ideas to expand on the brick-built saddle so I'll post those soon in another figbarf Haha thanks @Thomas Waagenaar! Please do use the technique Thanks @NOD! Thanks. My thinking with the clear angled piece was people could see it and ignore it, so the brown below would be the stirrup under the fig's feet. With LBG it would be harder to ignore! Thanks! Thanks for the kind words @Jeff of Clubs! Like I mentioned on Flickr, here are some tutorial links so you can try out the base yourself. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! Thanks @blackdeathgr! Like Ayrlego said, it's from the new Horse Transporter set. That set also comes with a horse trailer that includes lots of curved white pieces I am thinking will come in handy for making western covered wagons. I think the horse is also available individually on Bricks and Pieces on lego.com, though not in Greece unfortunately!
  8. Massive ship Nod! Incredible galleon
  9. To remove that formatting you can highlight the text and use the 'Tx' tool in the WYSIWYG editor - it should remove the white background! Thanks for adding the new NPC info!
  10. I opted to use the torso for some Germanic dragoons!
  11. On patrol in the snowy mountains near the Altonian capital of Ulric, a grenadier plays catch with a lighthearted dog that ran down to the path from a cabin. A group of dragoners (dragoons) draw their sabers in salute for grenadiere Major Steiner as they attempt to weave their way through the game of fetch. ---------------------- OOC: Wanted to use the new hotel bellhop torso and dark orange horse for some cavalry. It's been snowing a bunch here in Colorado so I also wanted to take a stab at a snowy landscape. @Ayrlego's recent Altonia figbarf inspired me to try my hand at some NPC troops! Thought it'd be fun to play around with the legs on the cavalry to make a brick-built "saddle" Altonian grenadiere (grenadiers) and dragoner (dragoons)
  12. Yes the muskets are dual-molded limited release series from BrickArms - they are super sturdy and look great! The are also pretty expensive so I think you'll see the solid brown versions in any larger army builds from me The bayonets are from BrickForge. I like them better than the ones offered by BrickArms No, I don't have a steady enough handy to paint such small things or I would have tried! As mentioned above, they are overmolded muskets specially made by BrickArms
  13. Yes, an outtake because I was just trying out the lightbox for the first time and the lighting setup is uneven. I had a nice bright daylight bulb on the right but dimmer LED ring lights on the left. Will use bright lights on both sides next time! Similar but not identical soldiers will be appearing in a BoBS MOC shortly!
  14. Sergeant Kilherby eyed Private Upperton, who was lock-kneed and apparently daydreaming. "Private, I said 'Fix Bayonets!'" ----------------------- An outtake shot while testing out a new lightbox - thought it was salvageable
  15. Thanks @Ayrlego!
  16. Great job Spud! That curved SNOT arched roof for the subterranean vaults is super cool
  17. Good eye! Mates on arriving ships often mistake it for pink, but they are quickly corrected by seasoned sailors who know that Wullham has a lavender-colored mineral found in nearby rocks. Not that this is a mineral-built house! They were just inspired by the lavender color Thanks! Hadn't used sand green in awhile and thought it would be fun. Figured it would be fun to try different SNOT rock techniques there Thanks! Had to get this one made before the 1/31 deadline! Thanks @Spud The Viking! I think Wullham is only a few commerce and factory builds away from being a large town. Tried a few different things to make a little pier and this was one of the smaller ways I could come up with to keep the pier to 2 studs wide!
  18. Haha feel free to go for it with any on BL I ordered mine last week, supposed to arrive yesterday but they are still on their way through the mail! I think they have left and returned to Chicago 3 or 4 times on their way to Colorado - taking the long way here!
  19. Dockmaster's Office in Wullham, medium commerce, evancelt
  20. Less than a minute's stroll from the bustling piers and factories that dot the coast of downtown Wullham lies the dockmaster's office. Here the dockmaster manages the comings and goings of ships in port, and makes sure all goods entering the town are recorded in official manifests. A personal dock is used when ships' captains want to call on the dockmaster. ------------- OOC: Built as my free microprize from the Oktoberfest 621 competition. Licensed as a medium commerce in Wullham
  21. Yes word is TLG is combining Bricks and Pieces and the online version of 'Pick a Brick' into a joint ordering platform, and it is scheduled to go live Feb 1. Orders placed to BaP in the last few months are held up because of that reorganization. I found a few of the sand green torsos on Bricklink for cheap (cheaper than BaP), but am waiting on BaP for some of those light nougat elements!
  22. Great concepts That moored ship is so cool! Do you have access to Photoshop? If you loaded that first picture into Photoshop and used a selection tool to select the bits on the left where you can see beyond the paper background into the "real world", you can right click and choose FILL --> CONTENT-AWARE and it would get rid of that! I think that would present the subject with fewer distractions.
  23. Cool! Mine are coming in the mail tomorrow. I'm thinking I may couple them with dual-molded boot pants.
