  1. Thanks @JopieK & @jtooker! Came into another dozen of the 6x6 round bricks from the new anniversary castle, so added them to the overall plan to help flesh out the multiple tiers of elevation Also had a chance to add some flextube to the proto-train You can see it in action here
  2. Got started with 2 of the front MILS modules. I cut some older green baseplates to attach edging to the front of the modules. These 8x edging modules could be removed to integrate the main layout into a larger LUG display (i.e., tracks wrapping around lots of builds). Rather than go with normal 1-brick-high MILS, I'm going to make most of the modules at least 2 bricks high (some will be 1 high along the edge). The edging modules transform the main modules down to baseplate height. Next up, it will be time to ballast under the track curves, and add tiles ties to the top of the track. Then 13 more modules to go! Cutting baseplates can cause nausea, so I've included photos of that in a spoiler: Here are some initial photos of the proto-train (think 1820's Stevenson's Rocket) that this display will feature. It still needs some flextube added to attach the stack to the furnace, and then it's on to the tender!
  3. I'm working on a 15 baseplate historical train MILS layout. As it will take me a while to complete, I figured I would post progress updates here. My overall goal with this build is to have a larger layout that is relatively easy to take to train shows. The overall plan will be to create something that is laid out like this (pictured here using quick Studio stand-ins), but with real elevation and detail
  4. A dairy farm, small plantation, Corrington (via evancelt)
  5. With storm clouds forming off to the east, Ebenezer Droll calls out to his man Benedict Thumber to return the cows to the milk barn. ----------------- OOC: To be licensed by Corrington as a small plantation in Wullham. If I'm not mistaken, this would yield 5DB per turn, @Ayrlego
  6. Like Ayrlego said, it is super immersive - nice work with that background image. I really like your brickbuilt windows and all of the textured masonry - great job! A from me for GoC
  7. Armory, medium artisan licensed by Corrington
  8. "Armory, Queenston" Royal Altonian Grenadier Guards receive new short swords from the quartermaster at the royal armory in Queenston. ---------------- Built as a collaboration with @Ayrlego. To be licensed by Corrington as a medium artisan in Queenston.
  9. Sir Harold had a penchant for pulling his sword out of his scabbard at the slightest sound. "Put that thing away, Sir Harold. It's just me."

  11. Thanks guys! Excited to show this one and the western banded mountain one this weekend at an in-person show in Estes Park, CO. I'll post some pics of them in their layout (they'll be surrounded by a running train!) Don't believe everything you see here I spent $5 on those goats The lanterns are all wired up to a USB hub behind the build. The central lantern wire runs in under the chimney of the rear building, and the wire for the right building runs out the back and into the side of the rear building. I tried to hide the wires under vegetation and distract with exploding cannons Then all three lantern wires exit the rear of the back building.
  12. Thanks guys! The geology is roughly based on the Painted Desert in Arizona. To make it a weird juxtaposition with the 24th century space person!
  13. Thanks! Yeah they are custom from AliExpress Thanks! Here are some behind the scenes shots from when I was making it

  16. Wullham residents stage a reenactment of a famous battle from the Juniper Wars. The actors fire muskets without shot and the artillery shoot painted watermelons. ----------------- To be licensed by Corrington as a large goat plantation in Wullham @Ayrlego This scene was built for a CoWLUG display at the 2022 Rails in the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado
  17. British and French forces face off on the outskirts of Toulouse. ----------------- This Napoleonic battle scene was built for a CoWLUG display at the 2022 Rails in the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado
  18. The starboard nacelle was acting up again. He'd have to set the shuttle down and run some diagnostics. Hopefully the inhabitants of this planet were friendly.
  19. Two traders for the East Terran Trading Company traverse the great wastelands that cover much of the Molokai Empire.
  20. That sounds like maybe its a DNS issue with your ISP. Have you tried in a different browser or internet connection?
  21. He caught one! Cool build and fun shot with the lights shining through the window. I really like that tower roof technique. My preference is for the photo you have in the spoiler accordion - better contrast and able to get a good view of the side of the building A for GoC from me
