  1. In her new build The Count Subverts The Council, Eurobricks forum member Kai NRG explores Eslandolan colonial council politics, including the necessary sneaky wheeling and dealing! Come join the Enlightenment-era politics on the Brethren of the Brick Seas forum
  2. When I saw this on Instagram I was wondering what the accompanying story would - and it doesn't disappoint! Nice job. The GIMP-ified sunbeams are great The stadium seating is really cool
  3. Here are various examples from some of my past builds. Fun to use clear tiles and put different colors under them, or use different color trans tiles and put different colors under them
  4. Thanks @blackdeathgr! Wanted to recreate the feeling I get when I walk up on mountain trails
  5. Thanks - the roof is 322 dark brown, brown/reddish brown (all of my 1x1 round bricks in these colors are mixed together ), dark orange, and dark red barrel bricks
  6. Thanks! Speaking of slab of brick... Thanks for the kind words @NOD, @Ross Fisher, @Justsomebrix, @Jeff of Clubs, @Ayrlego, @Spud The Viking !
  7. Thanks @Ayrlego! Do normal monthly build licensing limits apply to this initiative?
  8. Thanks that's good feedback. It looked a little flat to me, too, so I added the lions (out) and indented windows (in) on the top to try to counter the flatness. But the section between the left windows still looks pretty flat. Perhaps moving the flag that is the left of the doorway to that space between the left windows would have both balanced it a bit better and distracted from the flatness. And like you pointed out, the building is pretty long and that light bley demarcation line is very straight the whole way across. I wonder if putting a few round 1x1 studs in the light bley line would have helped break that up a little. Will have to build more Havana-esque Queenston buildings to try it out
  9. Just noticed the monkey poking out of the tree!
  10. Impressive group of soldiers @NOD! A thought on the tricornes:
  11. Town Hall, medium Art and Culture licensed for Corrington
  12. Townsfolk gather at the town hall in Queenston to hear privateer captain Edward Scarver read a report containing recent news of the war against the Lotii. The main meeting chamber of the town hall is below grade with a tall ceiling and high windows, keeping temperatures cooler during the hottest months. While entering the town hall feels a bit like descending into a crypt, the design of the room encourages discourse and has a moderating effect on tempers during gatherings. --------------- OOO: Wanted to try using the white Vidiyo case pieces as a facade for the building. Attempting a rural Havana / New Orleans vibe @Ayrlego - To be licensed by Corrington as a medium Art and Culture build for Queenston
  13. Thanks! I remember always having to use my imagination for what the landscape setting would be for the MTron sets since they didn't come with baseplates, so figured it'd be fun to focus on the landscape here
  14. Nice use of nougats and dark orange - looks muddy! The color palette reminds me of all of those Star Wars builds on other planets, but works well for this purpose. Fun to see Allcock in fleshie
  15. @Ross Fisher I'm interested too
  16. Thanks! The monster jaws (two sets!) used here are actually from Power Miners set 8962. The giant trans-neon green teeth were too good to pass up! The fun wedges with trans-neon green facets are also from that set.
  17. "The Motherlode" 'Come in M:Tron Central - this is Odette' 'Johnson was right, we just needed to follow the local flora back to the source. Setting up forward mining operations now. I think we've hit the motherlode!'
  18. I second the use of DUPLO. In the US you can usually find big bags of DUPLO in thrift shops for very cheap prices. Here is a recent build I made on DUPLO: I've tried using stacks or arches of system bricks on the interior and it just isn't as strong! If you stick with system bricks, the sturdiest thing I've found is mixing large plates with shorter stacks of the brick - the large plates and shorter stacks help with the lateral forces.
  19. Thanks! Will have to check that out the next time Im in a brick & mortar LEGO shop!
  20. These torsos were pad-printed by https://brickguild.ca @quiriacus
  21. Yes, they are printed like that - I think from a recent Frozen (Friends) set: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=41164-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0}
  22. Thanks! Thanks! Wanted to make sure the claw grass was visible, and a more realistic team or 3 - 4 would have filled the space! Thanks! Thanks!
  23. Oh I'm wrong about the armor! It's by brickwarriors: https://www.brickwarriors.com/city-watch-armor/
  24. Yep! The tail is from speedy gonzales, the chest plate is from newer figure (i'll have to look!), and the torso underneath is from PoTC Thanks!
  25. Nice job capturing the hustle and bustle!
