  1. Thanks @NOD! Thought it would be fun to knock out a little build in a few hours Quite blocky flowers, right? Thanks! Thanks! I grabbed a PAB cup of those clip tiles in sand green a while back and figured they would have a use! Thanks! Hoping to repurpose the base for a Native American build at a show this weekend.
  2. Thanks! Actually, fewer! I used DUPLO in the base and there are a bunch of 8x16 LEGO bricks on top of the DUPLO, which greatly reduced the piece count. Maybe 100 DUPLO bricks, 20 of the big LEGO bricks. The backdrop is maybe 500 bricks. The wagon another 150? Thanks. Yeah definitely was not designed with IDEAS in mind. It is at a museum for the summer, so can't make any tweaks until I get it back in September.
  3. I've submitted this build to LEGO IDEAS. Please consider supporting! Thanks https://ideas.lego.com/projects/00074d0e-51fc-4486-a0e5-1247fa8ad19f

  5. As the 6th Maine headed south away from Gettysburg, Corporal Breckinridge spotted a huge blasted tree trunk that must have caught artillery fire. He smiled and thought to himself, “That must have been a big tree!”. It was the first time he had smiled since the battle had ended.
  6. Nice work, @Spud The Viking! A GoC from me. Love seeing the year built into the front face of the building. I like the light bley bits poking out of the orange, which itself is a fun and unusual color that adds an interesting element to the build. The brick-built windows are fun, too, though I wonder how the children inside feel about being kept behind bars! Good use of clips/bars in the angles around the central roof. Does that hold the roof plates in place? The ground looks very clean and proper, which seems strange to me because I often try to make the ground look weathered. But makes sense for a new building! Overall, nice addition to the education builds of the Brick Seas!
  7. Not at BrickWorld this year due to a crazy work and kid summer camp schedule, but hoping to make it to future ones. Looking forward to seeing your biggest-yet BOBS project!
  8. That stone lion is cool! Fun way to get those cavalry torsos into BoBS!
  9. Haha had to fit on a 32x baseplate for the LUG build! Thanks! Yeah the slanted walls are super fun. Will have to try a larger fort with that technique once Corrington finances can support such things again Would love to see that palm tree technique get used some more
  10. Thanks @blackdeathgr, @Thomas Waagenaar, @Jeff of Clubs, @NOD, @Brickwolf, @Kai NRG, @Khorne!
  11. Welcome @DeathCap! Nice work on the ship! Most users of the forums host images on free Flickr accounts so they automatically embed on the forums. Alternatively, I can hook you up with some webserver hosting if you want to host images for embedding that way (if so, send me a PM!).
  12. To save you the trouble: if you thought about experimenting with belts and sashes mixed with boot pants… it doesn’t look very good! Maybe the coattails one on the right is salvageable
  13. Major Brickleton had seen it with his own eyes - Seawatch was besieged! The settlement was in desperate straits and was terribly close to being taken by Lotii forces. After successfully recording enemy numbers and positions, he had stealthily retreated away from the encircled city with his company of cavalry. While Brickleton believed they had escaped unnoticed, this time they headed to Fort Arltrees by way of the temperate central mountains of the island to hopefully scout out a second route allied forces could use to reach Seawatch. As night fell, he sat by a small campfire writing a dispatch to be sent to Colonel Wolf. "Forbes, toss a few more branches on the fire please. This dispatch will contain somber news and I mustn't mince words. Our forces must learn of the tenuous situation in Seawatch." -------------------- OOC: Just a quick build to play with a brick-built night sky and some funny trees
  14. Fun build, @Captain Roger! I'll echo some of the other replies and say that the white wall parts are a little plain. The shape of the fort is just fine, but I think the flat white parts are what make it seem plain. I created this tutorial a few years ago that shows a few ways to use pieces to add texture to the walls. Would love to see a combination of a few different textures in the build! The 1x3 arches are fun - they remind me of little gutters to let the water run off the flat roof. If you raised them up by another brick or so like in this build it might provide more for the defenders to hide behind!
  15. Perhaps rather than linking to Flickr/Instagram for builds we link to EB?
  16. Looking good! Those roan horses would be fearful to encounter
  17. Nice job! Like I mentioned on Flickr, I think that technique you used to get the rifles leaning against each other is genius!
  18. I am hopeful the discord can help generate traffic for the forums. There are many folks I've spoken to who will never create EB accounts because forums seem outdated to them, but they are present on Discord. Hoping we can still drive (guest) traffic to EB!
  19. Hello, maties! @Spud The Viking and I have made a Lego Pirates Discord server. Not to take away from these Forums, but to have a more relaxed and informal way for chatting and showing MOCs and inspiration etc. If you'd be interested, even just to join and see, use this link. Hope to see you there!
  20. Thanks! Thanks! Haha I see where the blue/red animosity mentioned in KPA is coming from I made sure to use yellow figs! Thanks! Yes, it fits on top of a 32x baseplate because it will be part of a CoWLUG display this summer
  21. Eurobricks member evancelt returns to fort building with his new creation Allied Intelligence Office, Spudkirk. Come build your own fortress in the Brethren of the Brick Seas forum!
  22. Cool story and series of builds! I like the diagonally placed roof
  23. Thanks guys! This build is going to be displayed in Denver at FanExpo with CoWLUG. Here are some behind the scenes shots of the base, walls, and tree taken from my Instagram story (hence the goofy messages on some of the pictures and unfortunate portrait orientation!). The wall technique was inspired by @CapOnBOBS 's sloped wall forts. My first experimentation with the tree technique was in this Seawatch recon build. Base (MILs to connect to other LUG members builds): Walls: Tree: (ended up using 3 octagonal bar plates)
