  1. Thank you. I think both side's arguments have become clear now, and since the only real thing that can "prove" either side is the upcoming sets including or not including deadpool, we should move on. I already explained multiple times that Joker's film design is very different from his design in every other film and the comics, whereas the only real difference with deadpool is the shade of red, can we please move on? There's about 100% probability he won't show up in 2020 anyway, so it's not even relevent. @Falconfan1414 That's great to hear, I could see this figure being the best WM yet. Do you know if his shoulder cannon attaches to an existing neck bracket or if it's one mold of the cannon and neck bracket?
  2. The most recent luke we've had is Farmboy Luke, and usually these are characters from recent, previous non-advant calendar sets. I'd love a Bespin Luke as I never bought Cloud City, but since there have been more recent lukes and the exclusive figure this year is sweater vader, I've got to say I think it'll be an overused variant like farmboy or Pilot. That would be a great figure, both the zombie-looking one and the revitalized one. I completely forgot about this think, I'm hoping for another TCW set or something for ESB but I'd guess a resistance B-wing is most likely. What are you talking about, $40 for a few figures from rapidly different eras? My army of battle droids is most efficiantly built this way, instead of that one $40 set with 12 of them that came out back in 2015. I don't think ever for your normal minifigures, there have been figures like "bb-8 but with a santa hat", "porg but with a santa hat", "gonk droid in green and red", and "R2-D2 with reindeer horns on top", but the only time I can think of exclusive prints on 2 figures is the christmas tree astromech+santa C-3PO in 2015 and the U-3PO+Snowy Chewbacca in 2016, and even then U-3PO came in a book too. @Sneakguest What do you mean by "new figures for army building"? Most army-building figures (I'm assuming here that you mean characters like stormtroopers, death troopers, and sith troopers, as people rarely want armies of Rowan or Final Duel Luke) appear in cheaper sets in larger numbers by the time they're in an advent calendar.
  3. You do make a good point about carnage in the upcoming venom film, but I did want to mention that Once Upon A Deadpool is about as close to R as you can get still being Pg-13, which I unfortunately learned when I watched it with some younger relatives. Exactly. Though I do wish we get another one, it's unlikely.
  4. Dang, it was unlikely, but a lego silver surfer would have been cool. Exactly. This is much more well-worded than my attempts, hopefully this helps people understand why he won't show up. I don't think you understand. Yes, he's a degenerate, and the fact that he's doing it for comedic effect rather than in a villainous way like vader or is what makes him so inappropriate for a CHILDREN'S TOY. @BigGuy4U I think the difference is in the films at least, nothing that bad happens with those characters. Vader in the films only kills combatants with a glowing sword, and he's very much a villian. Sure, it's implied he kills children in ROTS, but even then it's not shown, and it's honestly not nearly as bad as most of what deadpool does. The only film where Joker's a true sicko is Joker (2019), and we've already covered how that drastically different looking character won't get a figure. The big things with deadpool is that: A: he's not just violent, he's excessively lewd, disgusting, etc. There's a difference between vader chopping a guy with a glowing sword or choking out someone from 20 ft away than Deadpool doing some of the things he's done. Lego doesn't shy away from violence as much as they used to, but they sure don't have any hint of anything lewd like many things done by deadpool. B: like you said, he does those terrible acts for comedic effect. Most parents are ok with vader killing the rebel troopers or Joker shooting someone because they're the bad guys. Vader is in-universe terrifying as all heck, and Joker is the antithesis of batman. In the deadpool films (which I think are hilarious but definately not for kids), his henious acts are played as funny moments. (and usually are pretty funny). That's why he's different. Great! I'm glad to hear the new-type iron man helmet looks good on WM, and that he doesn indeed have a new helmet at all.
  5. Yeah, same here, if there's one problem it's lack of new vehicles (this is of course pretending Holdo and Canto Bight don't exist). With the ghosts, I think the biggest thing is a transparent blue torso, which is the thing I think they don't have down yet. Medium azure hands and hips are fine, and we know the limbs and head can already be made in translucent colors (though I'm not sure about hair or the yoda head mold). I think the problem is translucent plastic that they use isn't strong enough to be used for torsos, and normal tan/blue ones would look kinda bad IMO. It's the empire, what'd you expect?
  6. I get it, and yeah it's a terrible book, honestly they could probably profit more by selling the figure alone for half the price. Figure list sounds must better than previous years. We haven't had a luke in awhile, so I'm interested to see what variant it is, and of course I'm glad I didn't buy the y-wing now we know Poe is in the calender.
  7. First off, I would love for deadpool to be in a set, I just think it's unlikely. Yes, he appeared in a set before, but just like the TV-PG show appearence, it was Before the R-rated film causing most parents to see deadpool as vulgar. The fact is they cancelled a set because of the film. And the reason they're having all these talks about how to bring deadpool into the MCU is because they can't just plop him in like they would any other character, given the family friendly image the mouse house strives so hard to keep. Having an image of him on a website is a far cry from him having a figure in a children's toy. And I think you're missing the point here with that "disney can do whatever they want with him whether you like it or not". I want him to be in a set, it certainly sounds like you really want him in a set as well. but disney and Lego don't. But as I said, this is getting off topic.
  8. Are you sure it hadn't been opened? Based on your description I'd say either you just got a defect figure or the guy you bought it from might have resealed a used figure.
  9. Probably pretty expensive :(. And yeah, besides the cannon and the BARC and already-oversized AT-RT that appear, there aren't any republic ground vehicles smaller than the AT-AP. But they do have more than most factions, I was going to make that type of set for the resistance and first order but the only thing I could think of was a first order AT-ST. Even for the resistance, everything else is too big. Rogue one sets all sound great, the saw's hideout set is really creative. I agree it's unlikely we'll see force ghosts, but with Jek-14 and some ninjago characters having had translucent limbs in the past, and now all these patronuses for harry potter, I'm hoping we're not too far off from them being able to make torsos and hips out of translucent plastic.
  10. Yes, I worded that poorly. My point is we now know baby yoda exists, they don't want to skimp out on the merchandise again. Yeah, I think there was some translation-type error there, like you pointed out he also says maul is female. THE DARK LORD OF KILLSTREAKS
  11. The problem isn't whether or not you think that Deadpool is ok to be in a set, it's whether or not LEGO thinks that, and they don't. The difference is pheonix's joker is very different looking from the normal jokers, but the biggest between the deadpool outfits is the shade of red on the suit. This is starting to get off-topic, but I feel the need to mention that this would never, ever happen. The closest he's had is appearing in a TV-PG show for an episode or two.
  12. These all (well, all but a sound brick for yub nub but not victory celebration ) sound great, especially the endor bunker. We. need. A. New. Endor. Bunker. And that rebel fleet in the vein of TIE fighter collection would be cool. That would certainly be controversial, but if they could do that I agree it's the best thing they could do short of reviving chrome silver as a color. Some random battle packs: Rebel fleet battle pack: y-wing pilot, rebel ground crew, rebel officer, fleet trooper. Build is a maintenance/refueling vehicle. $14.99 Death star battle pack: TIE pilot, imperial officer, naval trooper, death star gunner. Build is a turbolaser. $14.99 Clone specialists: 1x ARC trooper (red), 1x ARC trooper (blue), 1x clone commando, 1x AT-RT driver (501st). Build is an accurately sized AT-RT and some terrain. $14.99 Droid specialists: 3x bx commandos, 3x b2 droids, build is a dwarf spider droid and a smaller crab droid. $14.99 And trying something new, basically sizing up the idea of the 501st set, would probably never happen: Might of the empire: AT-ST, 2 speeder bikes, E-web, turbolaser. 2x AT-ST driver, 1x scout trooper, 4x stormtrooper, 1x Darth Vader, 1x Palpatine. $69.99 Hope of the rebellion: T-47 snowspeeder, PT-tower turret, speeder bike, some Yavin Temple fortress-type build. 2x rebel pilot, 4x rebel fleet trooper, 1x Luke Skywalker (yavin jacket, no medal print), 1x Leia, 1x Han. $69.99 Valor of the Republic: Av-7 cannon, 2x correctly scaled at-rts, 2x BARC speeder. 2x AT-RT drivers, 4x p2 shinies, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano (S7), ARC trooper. $69.99 Oppression of the separatists: Spider droid, crab droid, 2x droidika, 4x b1, 4x b2, 2x bx commando, 1x Count Dooku, 1x General Grevious. $69.99
  13. Looks very nice, combining the more accurate scale of the 2015 set with the separatist color scheme of the 2009 set, except your design is superior to both.
  14. They're from the lego star wars brickmaster, It's a book with instructions and parts for lots of different models.
  15. I don't know, I haven't played fortnite but I think it's rated teen, and kids just play it anyway, whereas lego sets are explicitly for children most of the time. Also deadpool's been in lego games and all sorts of games for forever, It's moreso a physical set with deadpool in it that's the problem. A classic hawkeye would be cool, but I'm not sure we'd get a classic scarlet witch, given the costume. A shame, a molded hairpiece with the red thing she has in her hair in the comics would be pretty cool.
  16. I belive you just see the figure from the book. And As @2lazeetomakeaname said, Maul's male. SOLO HYPERSLAYS THE COMPETITION @LEGOscum I see. In that case I'd argue that Disney doesn't want a repeat of Baby Yoda, (itself a repeat of the lack of ready merchandise for the first star wars film back in 1977), and will make sure all the merch for this season is happening, but I suppose the sets we already know we're getting are coming out close enough before S2 to be promotion. It's also interesting that Disney makes most of the decisions of that type.
  17. Not since the latest update Speaking of the games, with battlefront 2 it took them over a year from launch to get a set out, so I'm still holding out hope for a fallen order set in january 2021. THE HEROES CAN'T STOP THE MAUL STREAK It depends. We will probably see leaks for figures and such within a month or two, but actual pictures are most likely to come out about when you say. That said, I seem to remember the images for the january waves leaking in late november the last few years, so it might be more like late june.
  18. GCPD looks like a real building, unlike the avengers compound battle set, and I assume people hope it wouldn't be 4+. However, I still think a GCPD D2C wouldn't make a good set.
  19. Yeah, in-universe it's a color swap of cad bane's xanadu blood. Nice to hear you've already got the CW version on your list, same with the prison ship. The figure could be Matt Lanter's cameo!
  20. and of course it's from dimensions . If anyone truly despairs at the prospect of a batman dinosaur mech-less existence, light modifications to the venom dinosaur from the upcoming marvel set would work. But the GCPD police station itself isn't very iconic, which is the problem. I had to look it up, it really seems to be just a normal-looking building.
  21. Rumor is they cancelled a comic-based deadpool set, with the same set number as what became the doctor strange set, because they were worried parents wouldn't want the same character in an R-rated film as the one in their children's toys. It was in a just2good video, I think.
  22. I like this list. (nice callback to that origional geonosis troops set) I think the problem with AOTC is that you've got the airspeeder chase (which 100% deserves a remake, even the TIE bomber was more recent than it), geonosis (which you reflect pretty well in your sets, they all sound great), and then everything else becomes a bit problematic in lego's eyes. Jango's slave one is a colorswap of boba's, and most people know boba's better and prefer it, accounting for why we haven't had one in ages (I hope we get one soon, though, and like that you included a kaminoin in yours). The nubian yacht would be best made chrome, which lego doesn't do anymore, and have shown with the razorcrest that they won't even use metallic silver but LBG. I think your list works pretty well, as it brings the sets lego for whatever reason hasn't made, or stuff that's well overdue for a remake. Only thing I would add are the battle packs, of course. You've got a lot of sets, enough for multiple waves, so I'll do enough Battle packs for multiple waves. Clone trooper battle pack: 2 p1 shinies, p1 captain, p1 lieutenant. Build is a command center like in clone troopers v droidikas from 2013. $14.99 Republic battle pack: 3 random jedi, clone commander. parts of jedi can be swapped to make other jedi. Build is a Barc speeder and maybe some terrain. $14.99 Geonosis battle pack: 2 geonosians with guns, geonosian with pike thingie, b2 battle droid. Build is one of those things the geonosians ride on. $14.99 Geonosis droids battle pack: 4 geonosis b1s, 2 geonosis b2s. Build is 2 droidikas and a bit of terrain. $14.99
  23. I had forgetten about this ship, but after re-watching the scene it appears in, it looks great, very accurate to the source model. If you want to build another ship from the series, it could be interesting to make the bounty hunter ship from the end of episode 6, or the outland TIE, with the wing hinges. Agreed that there aren't many ships though, I think the only other ones we see are well known from the films or beyond the scale of starfighters.
  24. But we already got a good 4+ one last year, avengers compound battle. A police station could work, but I don't think it's nearly as iconic as something like Arkham.
  25. Marvel's only had 2 D2Cs, 2015's helicarrier and 2018's hulkbuster. They were the off years for DC, but DC gets twice as many as marvel.
