Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, it's much more likely any CMF would be MCU. I think ashnflash made a stan lee CMF, one for each cameo. But yeah, stan lee should be the chase figure if there's a marvel CMF, maybe with amazing fantasy #15 as his accesory. -

And I guarantee a fair few of these "it's the end times" people are among them. Honestly, though the sets don't appeal to me personally, I think it's a cool idea and I'm glad the pre-order bundle sold out. -
DC Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Exactly, and just look at the amount of themes lego has. Sure, some are one-offs, but there's so many ongoing themes that aren't the best selling themes of the year. One target isn't really close to definitive proof of the theme dying. And batman sells, so he gets the most sets (although batman sets aren't the "only" DC sets of the past few years.) And not to minimod, but you should probably refrain from calling people "absolute idiots" because you disagree with them. early 2018 was two years ago.... -

Yeah, amazon's got to triage here, given what's going on. And yeah, it's more omissions than mistakes in that video (though there are apparently plenty of mistakes, too). -

I think the black panther ears turned around and in red would be better daredevil horns. But to be honest any daredevil would be fine by me -
I like the idea of a sort of reimagining of the original imperial inspection set. @ArrowBricks I don't even like TPM, but a trade federation landing craft set would be pretty tempting to purchase!

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Mandalorianknight replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I wish we could pre-order the 501st legion set, I find it weird that it's on the site this early. I've got VIP and can't pre-order, so I'd assume it's by country. I don't anticipate it selling out though, so you should be fine @Bbafett -
Like the turntable things in the more recent duel sets? Good idea. I might make a stud.io moc of it if I have the time later. More "duel" sets, separated by cost: Duel on the death star (ANH): Obi-wan and Vader, build is that death star corridor with the sliding door, $20 Duel on Bespin: Luke and Vader, build is the catwalk at the end of their duel ("No, I am your father" scene). $20 Duel on Kijimi: Rey and Kylo, build is half kijimi and half the artifact room on the destroyer orbiting it. $20 Final Duel: Smaller than 2015 set. Luke, Vader, Palpatine Essentially just the throne, shafts for emperor to be thrown down, and stairway. $30 Duel on Geonosis: Obi-wan, anakin, Dooku. Geonosis hanger area with pillar things for him to knock down, primarily based on the part where anakin dual-wields the lightsabers. $30 Duel of the Fates: Maul, Obi-wan, Qui-gon, naboo guard and b1. Larger than 2017 set, by far. Focus is the final area, with catwalks, the hole for maul to be chopped down into, etc. $70 Senate Duel: Yoda, Sideous, 2 shock troopers, Mas Amedda. Senate chamber area, small palpatine's office. $70 Exogol duel: Ben, Palpatine, Rey, 2 knights of ren. Comes with Palpatine's ommin harness, throne, etc. $70 And now "duel" doesn't even look like a word anymore, I need to go lie down!

People were talking about an invisible hand duel set (just as an idea to get a good anakin, not as anything rumored) on the discussion thread, so I thought I'd come up with one. Invisible hand duel: Comes with Dooku, Anakin, Palpatine, Obi-wan. Build includes the balcony with stairs on either side, collapsible section to knock out Obi-Wan, and an area with palptine's throne-looking chair. $60

Why dont Moc builders build capital Ships as playsets
Mandalorianknight replied to Alifeoflegos's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Welcome to eurobricks! I've only ever made one MOC of a large ship (ironically it was playscale, but it's not an actual canonical ship), but I'll try my best to answer this. It's not really a question of scale, as many playscale, UCS, and even micro/polybags are all very much out of scale of other sets within the same subtheme. For why the ships aren't playsets, most MOC builders tend to focus on making accurate models of ships instead of children's toys like lego's playscale sets mainly are. As is the result, most of them don't have play features, though I've seen a fair few with minifigure-scale interiors. If you're asking if there's ships that come at a size comparable to the playscale star destroyers, combat frigate, etc, then I think there's a fair amount. I don't remember the specific links, but searching for the ship you're looking for on this forum should give you results of MOCS of all different sizes, from some massive UCS style builds to starfighters built smaller than polybags. I hope this helps. -

Wouldn't that have been nice. maybe then he wouldn't be so expensive on bricklink! I find it funny that the book even exists, given that at this point even most children are able to use the internet and find brickset/bricklink/etc, all of which contain more information and are more accurate than the book, if it wasn't for the figures they wouldn't sell at all. Thanks. -
Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to MandyNeko's topic in LEGO Licensed
If you look at it that way it all makes sense. The INTERACTIONS are exclusive, not mario, so it makes sense that he's also in the castle. Poorly worded press release, but I think you're right in that he'll be in the castle too. I can barely get on the site, but I don't believe you'll get the easter GWPs, but instead whatever other GWP you qualify for at the time of shipping, if any. Only about 70% sure, but I think that's how it works. Plus the mario one of course. -

Due to that I just bit the bullet and pre-ordered it. I was holding off because if they did end up shutting things down due to the virus I didn't want a huge hassle to get my $130 back. Where did you find it discounted and for how much? I like that maul figure alot but it's not worth $20 to me, but if there's a discount... -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

It's definitely June, which bodes well for getting images of the marvel sets soon. -
All great ideas! I'll have to order some 4697bs and 11090s to make double cannons, and I'll definitely make bunks part of the cockpit. I have some rudimentary landing gear, it's stable but it can't fold, it's basically just This piece with a technic brick and some plates added on, four landing gear "legs" in total. mini starfighters sound like a great idea, I'll try making some mini a,u, and y-wings tomorrow!

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I know, it looks great! I've mentioned this before but this may be the first DC set I've ever bought (I have a CMF figure or two, but I don't think those count) WW84, 501st set, helicarrier with new war machine and captain marvel, a fair number of themes are pumping out unexpected gems. -
This one's still a WIP, but I'm satisfied enough with it that I thought I'd post it here. Thanks to @BEAVeR's advice, unlike my MLC-3 tank MOC, the images actually work on this one! I was thinking about how for ships bigger than the falcon/ghost, our only rebel ships we've had sets of are the Tantive V and the ship that's in literally two episodes of the Rebels cartoon. I don't think I could surpass any existing MOCS on the current roster, of ships (GR-74, MC-80, Nebuleon-b, etc), so I made my own design, essentially the CR-90 corvette's big brother. More armed and armored than it's predecessor, my design features large cannons towards the rear and a larger, more polygonal front section. My original goal here was to spend less than $20 on parts as to use mainly pieces from my own collection, which I have met at this point, but I think the orders I've currently got on the way bring my total costs past that number, by about double ! The greebling on the front is more detailing than I did on the other sections of the ship, I intend to add to the other sections once my bricklink orders arrive. As viewed from the back. I like how the engines turned out, with the radar dish elements on the back of them. The stickers don't align, but I wasn't about to order a sealed copy of the escape pod set, so the ones I got from bricklink will have to do. Front view. Front interior. Yes, they're resistance officers, but we don't have minifigures of rebel starship crew besides the ground crew. This area probably needs the most work. The crew also look a bit like clones since there aren't many options for faces with that headset design. Middle interior: Hallway, armory, and an engineering room. Interior is once again very plain, but there's not much room to work. Finally, the gunnery station for the primary cannons. Any feedback, especially suggestions, is welcome!

LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Good catch, I know the eta-2 starfighter with the platforms has his "normal" face as this creepy angry one with sunken eyes, and then of course the sith face. The one in the 2020 duel on mustafar is more of a neutral expression, I hadn't noticed that before and will probably buy either the figure or the set now. And this is evidence that despite it seeming weird, lego knows what sells. I guess kids want their landspeeders. I think that like you say, we'll see discounts on at least the starfighters come summer, probably small ones on the smaller sets too. (Exculding the mandalorian pack, between that and the 501st set lego's going to weather this pandemic just fine .) Seriously, they should let us pre-order that 501st set. -
Looks great! I like the use of parts, especially the way those shoulder armor parts connect the arms. At first I thought it was built at a larger scale than minifigure scale, but canonically they're over 3 feet (or 1 meter) taller than a clone trooper so I think this could work, though if it is meant to be minifigure scale it might be a bit big.

The helmets are already out? where'd you find them? I got a third mandalorian pack recently, but probably won't be buying much more until august. -

Maybe there really is a boga . I'm with you here, not sure at all what's up with the price for this one. I'm young enough that in 2010 my thoughts were more "grievous is in this one, I'll ask for it for christmas" , but looking at it it is larger and more complex than the 2007 set, but not $30 larger. I agree there, lots of starfighter sets are starting to seem overpriced (Poe's 2020 x-wing, anyone?). The TIES usually have the excuse of large panel parts, but in sets like Vonreg's TIE it's not nearly enough to justify the price. Actually, thinking of sets like snoke's throne room, it might just be sets in that price range in general. -

You're right, that mold is by far the worst. Another minor thing about angry clone, for these TIE pilots and other characters, at the point in time these sets are being made at, (5BBY-4ABY for at least the majority of rebellion era sets, not counting the 3 sets from solo that came with imperials), there are barely any clones left in the empire. So it's overwhelmingly likely that these troopers are not clones. Most of these sets seem priced fine for me, but I agree about the soulless one. there was a $50 set back in 2010 that had his ship, 3 figures, and a plate with a chair build and weapon rack. So very similar to this upcoming set, except as far as we know there's no chair build or weapon rack. $50 in 2010 would amount to a little over $60 in 2020, accounting for inflation, which is still almost $20 away. The 2010 set also had 33 less parts than this one, so it's not like there's a surprise extra build. I would say the TIE dagger wasn't as bad though, most of the parts were large angled plates that had been introduced only a few months prior, or smaller ones that were introduced in the set. -

They were first in the sets celebrating 80 years of batman, then in avengers sets, I think. -

I agree, in concept the 2012 heads were the best, though in execution the printing was off. I for one see them as pretty accurate to both, though they are clearly based on TCW season 7 as you say. @ToaDraco I agree about the visors, not sure about the 501st being dark blue. They're definately normal blue in TCW, and in ROTS it's more complicated. We only see them in the attack on the temple, as far as I remember, and they do look darker blue but they're also in darker surroundings. They seem the normal blue to me in images like this one. -

I think George Lucas actually encouraged the stormtroopers being faceless, but I mean I guess it's possible. It's definitely cheaper to just use blank black heads, so I honestly can't think of a better reason. Yeah, basically whenever they don't know what a character looks like under the helmet.
