  1. I love this idea! Up the price a bit and you could add some others like the advanced or defender. A Lot of these prequel options have sounded like a stretch to me, but these three make alot of sense from lego's view as well as ours. Clearly they've at least thought about it, we know prototypes of the monsters of pentaki and the AT-UT existed, but they all would make good set not just for the fans but for the population. Pentaki could be an MBS set, it fits that mold perfectly, and is best made at a large scale with a boatload of figures. Lego loves their walker/tank types, so while probably not in the same wave the AT-UT and SPHAT would sell at least as well as the AT-M6 or AT-TE. Just because I'm at s5e18 in my clone wars rewatch, here's a set of the shock troopers in the vein of the 501st set. Shock troopers: 2x shock trooper, 1x commander fox, and 1 of those ARF-looking troops with a dog using the corellian hound mold, and a new mold for the helmet. also 1x ahsoka. Build is a prison cell and command area, $29.99
  2. That's a good point, or maybe there's more than the AAT. There was a period of time where the only thing we knew about the 501st set was "BARC speeder", and I guarantee the reception to a large BARC with 1 or 2 figures would be VERY different than the almost completely positive reception of the 501st set. I'm sorry, but you clearly for got the Gonk droid . Realistically, and ironically since we get the system scale one every few years, there is still Luke's Landspeeder, I guess. #wewantaUCSgonkdroid, anyone? I can't decide between that and the gonk droid battle pack, which would have 18 gonks (with red lightsabers taped to the sides, of course) At least in the US, it's $10 more than anakin's delta-7 from 2018 and $5 more than our last interceptor, in 2016 i think. Unfortunately, this is the most likely. It's not a big deal in terms of the set itself, but I don't get why angry clone still exists. It's got to be more expensive than just using a blank black head to look like their body glove, so you don't have flesh being visible when they're in armor, and it's a lot less accurate for at least the stormtroopers. (I would say the clones too, as Temuera Morrison has a darker skin tone than light flesh)
  3. I'm pretty sure it comes with Iron man, rescue, and 2 agents. The inclusion of rescue is what sells it for me, I never bought the helicopter set.
  4. Especially when that 501st pack gets to toilet-paper levels of scarcity and we can only find it for $500 on ebay . In all seriousness I agree about the smaller sets being great this year, there's some from themes I never buy from (like DC's wonder woman set), that I'm planning on getting. The marvel sets seem great this year too, like the black widow set and hulkbuster (though at $40 it's not exactly a small set), but the real good ones are looking to be the helicarrier and avengers tower, which unfortunately are both pretty expensive. At least for marvel. Honestly even though it's seemingly going to be a great wave I might just end up buying the hulkbuster and bricklinking war machine.
  5. But think about this. No one's going to decide whether or not they're going to buy an x-wing because of the ladder. However, a giant lizard, were it to be included in the set, would be of significantly more value were it to be in the set, which I personally doubt in the first place. It would be something that would make at least the people here decide it's at least worth a bit more (though probably not $80). It's not something they'd want to omit from the front of the box, as the front of the box, being the front, is generally seen alot more than the back. And as @SillySeeker points out, so there's ways to fit everything on the box easily. The price per piece is weird here. I already mentioned the 501st set, a minifigure-heavy set, having 1 less part than a set that's not only $10 more expensive but probably not a large battle pack like this is.
  6. Don't bet on it, I only buy SW and some Marvel and I'm already too close to "a lot" for comfort, especially with allocating money for one or 8000 of those 501st sets. Disappointed all the releases were pushed back, but I guess it's better than releasing them in a pandemic. With the way it's all going, the U.S. at least for sure won't be in a state for people to safely go to theatres in late april, and from what I've heard probably much of europe as well. From the aforementioned 501st set announced yesterday we can assume that they're continuing to sell lego in general at the normal release dates, so the comic/game marvel sets are fine. (For all I know the game's been delayed yet again but that didn't make lego delay the january sets.)
  7. I think ahsoka's more likely, but I don't think we have too good of a chance of seeing either of them. ironic, as this season was described by Dave Filoni as Rex's arc, than ahsoka's arc, then they come together for the final one. If they gave 3 figures in a $30 star wars set arm printing, much less that set being a 501st army builder, I think pigs would start flying and hell would freeze over. There's a difference between omitting a ladder or little support thingie and omitting a giant lizard...they're of vastly different values to consumers.
  8. hence some older fans like me won't get it unless they throw in some exclusive third figure. (even then it'd have to be rex or ahsoka for me to pick it up)
  9. It's got more green, at least. The LOTR piece looks alot better to me than the thing they gave him for the 2012 sets, but you're right, he's holding it backwards. june, I think.
  10. I like the Minecraft simile here, it's a good example of what's going on. The white is more accurate, but it just looks off because lego minifigures themselves aren't perfectly human shaped. I'm thinking this right here is great for increasing the popularity of the 501st set and nothing else, at least among children. Children tend to be A: broke and B: (as with many adults) Primarily want figures and (unlike adults) Playable vehicles with features like stud shooters. So between a set with anakin, r2, MAYBE another figure and his interceptor, or a set with more parts, 4 501st, 2 vehicles, and 2 droids, 99% of children are going to pick the 501st set. When you factor in us collectors and AFOLS, the 501st set will be selling very well, and the interceptor probably won't. Note that is has literally 1 more part than the 501st set, but is $10 more. I don't think it's disney, but I am scratching my head here.
  11. I think one of the youtubers reporting it said that in his video, and the kashyyyk at-rt was $30, so it would make sense. As someone who owned the 2013 set I do have to say that it was garbage compared to this one. And speaking of the kashyyk set, can we talk about how much better value this one is? You're essentially swapping out the figures for 501st troopers, then adding a jet trooper and another b1, with a barc instead of the dwarf droid and little barricade. The AT-RT is certainly too big, but I think that's inevitable at this point. And you are correct, the helmet is the p2 clone helmet Gree uses.
  12. Not since they cancelled the falcon and winter soldier bird mech and mechanical arm motorcycle sets due to covid-19, I can't display the sword mech only alongside the vision helicopter and scarlet witch mech!!! I could see the film making some moria-troll sized ones, that could be cool. Hopefully we don't have too many repeats.
  13. I hope we get another ARC, he's so expensive on bricklink, and a 501st one would be nice. Yeah, it's just evidence of how much detail they added to this thing. They pulled out all the stops. Stud guns adults hate? Not on the figures, at least. Printing is absolutely exceptional, and to be honest I think it's less that it's TCW style and more that (sans gree and the kashyyyk troops) it's our first P2 clones in a looong time. As others have mentioned, the builds, while oversized, are pretty good-looking. I think there might be some rendering issues, similar to how they don't have a boxart image, that might be attributing to them looking a bit...off. Personally the white pieces look kind of yellowed to me, but that might just be me. $20. But a $10 price increase combined with 2 more 501st troopers, a jet trooper, 2 b1s and a BARC seems while worth it, even with the loss of yoda and the droidika.
  14. I thought deviants were human sized? A giant brick-built celestial would definitely make me more interested in the sets, at least.
  15. I didn't pick up on the cato nemodia thing. That, combined with the jet trooper means that if this is based on any one "thing", it's the start of the Ahsoka/temple bombing arc in season 5. I'm not at all saying you shouldn't have an opinion, nor am I "attacking you on a personal level", I'm sorry if that's how it came across. I was poking fun at the community in general and how no matter what comes out, people will complain. I see what you mean about the trooper designs, I just find it funny that no matter what lego does they'll end up getting people mad. Same here, set is great but the campaign got excessive. And 100% right about the new piece. as @Guyon2002 points out, it's two small pre-existing pieces molded together as one element. nice!
  16. We're supposed to get a new one for the helicarrier, but it is starting to seem less likely.
  17. For some reason it won't let me directly qoute you but @cookiemonster, you would be correct. Generic jet trooper from battlefront 2 and the clone wars. Run for it, he's gone supernova! Good on him though, I'm sure this was at least partially due to his campaign. I predicted it, within an hour or so of the reveal we get the whining . This kind of reads like sarcasm, i hope it is. Looks great to me, BARC has a new piece, both builds look great even though the AT-RT is inevitably too big, and the figures are insanely detailed, just wow! Good value too, especially when compared to the $20 set from 2013 it's well worth the price increase.
  18. Completely understand that we may not see instructions for awhile. Stay safe, and thank you for continuing to do your job and help people in this pandemic.
  19. They can't do that to us! There'll be more time spent putting on stickers than building the set itself! Yeah, this bodes well for the marvel sets if this is how they're handling the theme that didn't even sell as well. Same here, all I've bought is a few batman figures off bricklink, But I'll probably get this for the parts alone, not to mention the outstanding wonder woman figure. only problem is maxwell lord, who is at a FFH happy hogan figure level of detail, and looks nothing like pedro pascal. Would've been a great opportunity to get a face print for the mandalorian, seeing as he plays him, too.
  20. Yup, and it's a good figure, too. Not really too much more detail than a normal pilot, but there's really not much you could add, anyway.
  21. I agree, logically it just makes sense even if we don't have confirmation. And true about the light-on-dark printing. You either get the suntan cap from 2015-2016 or the vampire cap from 2019.
  22. So it stands to reason then that that's our iron man for the wave? The avengers game suit but with the MCU style helmet? Makes me even more sad there's no captain america, the boxart figure would be great, with the chinstrap but blue head.
  23. Dropship's a nice army builder (although you end up with a ton of han solos), and welcome back to lego!
  24. I agree, some people just want to complain about everything, this helmet is a million times better than anything we would have gotten years ago.
