  1. *Your entry has earned 9 XP* Farantros narrative: Well as I continued to gather evidence, more and more I came back to the native Snogar. I was able to put it off no longer, so I arranged a meeting with the chief at a Triumvirate mining colony right on the edge of their holy lands. Once the Triumvirate had found Agrocite on the planet we had sent in the elites to protect it. And so I found myself in the middle of the bleak tundra of Ota in the company of the legendary Triumvirate Super Commandos and a potentially murderous savage. http://Murder on the Frozen World part 3 - Meeting with the Snogar by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Murder on the Frozen World part 3 - Meeting with the Snogar by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Murder on the Frozen World part 3 - Meeting with the Snogar by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Murder on the Frozen World part 3 - Meeting with the Snogar by marvelBoy123, on Flickr The chief seemed on edge throughout our entire conversation (whether that was due to the presence of one of the galaxies most elite fighting forces or the fact he was hiding something I do not know). He could confirm that the statue was a native symbol of ritualist sacrifice of an enemy but denied any involvement. Besides, his alibi didn't hold up well - he claimed that to the Snogar time has little importance and that he often spent days hunting alone in the tundra. What made me even more suspicious was his motive, at the first mention of the mining plans he became agitated and that quickly turned to anger. I couldn't say how he did it but he was certainly my prime suspect. I don't have two of the white Mando helmets but I've done my best to show the two individuals in the build. This has certainly been one of my favourite builds that I have done, I wanted to give a strong sense of the layers of the snow landscape and I experimented with SNOT landscaping on hinges to give a more rounded base. In the machinery etc I took quite a lot of inspiration from Kessel which gave me an excuse to rewatch Solo. This will be my last build on Ota as part of the murder mystery but look out for @Tariq j's builds coming soon. As ever I appreciate your feedback.
  2. I'll add an in-depth suspect list over the next couple of days.
  3. Awesome, the star destroyers are perfect!
  4. Thanks, I just wanted to break up the black floor in the centre - I didn't have anything in specific in mind - but a trap door is a really good idea, I can just see some junior officer falling down there as punishment for wasting time. As for an imperial logo, I really need to get my hands on the Endor Action Battle when my budget allows. Ooh @Ross Fisher interesting to see a first guess. There are still a few more characters who we are yet to meet in person but I'd be interested to see how and why you think he did it. Of course, throughout the story we will build on the motives of those involved so it will be interesting to see if your thoughts change!
  5. *Your entry has earned 3 XP* Farantos narrative: Finally I would get some more information. An autopsy had been performed and the results, alongside other matters, would be discussed at the inquest. The whole of the staff at the station had been gathered for the inquest with Sergeant Major Coomar and Deputy Administrator Marcburk (the second in command) standing at the front alongside some Chiss governing fella who would be in charge of the inquest. http://Murder on the frozen world: The inquest (part ii) by marvelBoy123, on Flickr The results began: 'At some time between 9PM and 7AM on Monday, Administrator Lantpenn, who was in charge of the Triumvirate's operations on Ota, died. The body was found in sector E below the watch platform. After performing an Autopsy, we can confirm that the cause of death was a plasma shot wound that went through his heart. Death would have been instantaneous. While difficult to tell the weapon used it is most probably a A-280 blaster rifle or similar based upon the shape and size of the wound. Given that no gun was found by the body and the fact that it would be impossible for a human to shoot themselves at that angle, we can conclude that this was not suicide, but an act of murder by being/ beings unknown. All those who wish to give evidence....' http://Murder on the frozen world: The inquest (part ii) by marvelBoy123, on Flickr That was the useful information. The rest was spent by panicked support and maintenance personnel claiming to have seen all manner of things. Oh for the days of the old empire when justice was so much simpler. Now we had to have trials and public inquests and the like. http://Murder on the frozen world: The inquest (part ii) by marvelBoy123, on Flickr It happened after the inquest that I was able to speak with Coomar. I'd been meaning to for a couple of days - at the leadership will reading, he had been named as the successor as administrator of the station which he would assume once the investigation was cleared up. Farantros: 'Coomar, I meant to talk to you after the will reading, you're going to take over as administrator once this whole business has cleared up, right?' Coomar: 'I guess so, that is what Lantpenn wanted.' Farantros: 'Why not Marcburk? He was second in command and - no offence - had more experience.' Coomar: 'I don't know, Lantpenn was like a father to me, he was my mentor and I guess he wanted me to take up his legacy' Farantros: 'Did Lantpenn and Marcburk get on well?' Coomar: 'They did, but they had a disagreement about a mining station. It was in the native Snogar's sacred land, Lantpenn said we shouldn't be pushed around by such a primitive species, but Marcburk was adamant that we respect them. I don't know much about it, you'd be better to ask Marcburk.' Farantros: 'Does anyone here own a A-280?' Coomar: 'Station personnel, no. But there is an old rebellion cell on the planet. We captured their leader after we caught him spying on us but the others are still active. There are some rumours that they are working with the Snogar so I guess they could have got access to an A-280. Is that all?' Farantros: 'One last thing. You found the body, right? When was the last time you saw Lantpenn?' Coomar: 'Yes I found the body and before you get any idea that I might have done it, I was on a station on the other side of the planet at the time. The shuttle time between the two locations is about 9 hours so there is no way I could have killed him. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go to an urgent briefing.' Farantros: 'Thank you for your time, Sergeant Major.' I will update the case file later with the new evidence and suspects. Feedback is welcome as ever!
  6. Really nice build, some great shaping throughout the building and the scene is definitely reminiscent of The Mandalorian. Great build!
  7. I'd attach a picture of the concept art that you based the build on, you did a great job of replicating something so detailed and once you see the atmosphere of the picture it really shows how clever the design choices were!
  8. Really nice, I love the little details of the heads in jars and tanks. The tool rack and piping really helps give the feel of an industrial lab, Great build!
  9. Awesome, a great idea and well executed. The mural is really good and it is nice to see a wall at an angle. The bacta tank and pools look great and the minifigure posing is excellent. Great build!
  10. Awesome, my favourite build from you yet (though I do also love your 'flight of the aryx' build). The colour transitions look great, the Muun is perfect and the detailing on the walls is a nice touch!
  11. Yeah, the statue might be better in bronze so that there is more contrast to the uniform, I'll update that later.
  12. All information to the murder on the frozen world will be collected here, including evidence, suspect files, scenes outside the builds and links to the builds themselves. As the builds go on, if you want to have a guess at who the killer is then feel free to PM me your thoughts. I'd love your feedback on the builds and the murder mystery itself as our idea develops.
  13. *Your entry has earned 4 XP* Farantros narrative: I never thought that I would be sad to see the back of Deysum, then again, I didn't realise that in the very same sector was a planet that was even worse - Ota. I was sent in the most unfortunate of circumstances - a murder. Administrator Lantpenn who was in charge of the Triumvirate's operations on Ota had been found dead. As the nearest impartial official who was not involved in key management I was sent from Deysum alongside Tariq J, a stormtrooper who knew many of the unit stationed on Ota. Our task was to catch the killer and I'll be honest, I have got no experience of this kind of thing. Anyway, I was escorted by Sergeant Major Coomar who on arrival gave me a quick brief of the situation. Then I was taken out to the scene of the crime. There was a small platform above the corpse with a good view point. The victim had been found dead at 7AM this morning by Coomar and a couple of troopers on a regular patrol. The crime scene had remained undisturbed until my arrival with only a small hovering medical droid sent out to check him. In these cold environments, establishing a time of death was impossible but the victim was last seen the previous evening at about 9PM. Only one set of footprints led to the victim, standard imperial boots. Given that they did not return, it was almost certainly the victim himself. Yet beside the body there was a small native statue. It looked like a ritual killing but it was hard to tell - the statue had been gently placed beside the body yet there were no footprints or disturbances in snow patterns - the body couldn't have been reached by foot or speeder. That's all I can gather for now until the inquest and autopsy. http://Murder on the Frozen World by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Murder on the Frozen World by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://20200601_153742-01 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Not my best work but more an introduction to what myself and @Tariq j are planning. I took a lot of influence from @Darth Bjorn's earlier build on Ota with the platform etc.
  14. Many people forget that criminal ventures employ too. Agrocite mining on Khorm was conducted by a number of gangsters over the years and there was never a shortage of jobs, though pay rates were low and many did not survive the cold... http://{Economy] Mining on Ota by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://{Economy] Mining on Ota by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://{Economy] Mining on Ota by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://{Economy] Mining on Ota by marvelBoy123, on Flickr One of my favourite builds that I have made and certainly among the most technically challenging, there is a lot of landscaping including the use of SNOT techniques at angles which creates the unusually shaped base. I took a lot of inspiration from Kessel and in fact rewatched Solo to get the feel for a mine such as this. This is a change from the original build, but I was surprised to get this completed in time, so I switched to this better build once complete.
  15. Great build, so many nice details as always!
  16. Really clever idea and well executed!
  17. Awesome build with so many little details! Nice to see a range of classic star wars insults too.
  18. Yeah, that and a couple of other cyberpunk builds definitely inspired a number of the techniques I used for the build!
  19. Nice platform! I like all the little details like the grey line and the curved corners. They give it a nice modern aesthetic that fits well with Byblos.
  20. Really nice idea and well executed, good job.
  21. *Your entry has earned 8 XP* Many forget the short time that the republic occupied Uogo'cor during the clone wars. Due to unrest at the occupation and frequent pirate attacks, clone AT-RT patrols were a common sight throughout the many levels of the planet's cities. http://Clone wars Cyberpunk city on Uogo'cor by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Clone wars Cyberpunk city on Uogo'cor by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Clone wars Cyberpunk city on Uogo'cor by marvelBoy123, on Flickrhttp://Clone wars Cyberpunk city on Uogo'cor by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Custom Lego AT-RT design by marvelBoy123, on Flickr The AT-RT is a custom build and one of the smallest AT-RT mocs that I have seen. The angles on the front are achieved by the new clear parts from the DC CMF. My other favourite detail is the blast door on the lowest level. The angled line is originally a technique for tudor half timbered buildings but I think that it is pretty effective. This is my third real take on a 'cyberpunk' style city and by far my favourite. I would love your feedback.
  22. Awesome action scene with great minifigure posing!
