  1. Yeah, agreed - the blood looks really realistic and the mining machine is nice too!
  2. *Your entry has earned 8 XP* Farantros narrative: Of the entire itinerary of my boring hunting trip, this was the part I was looking forward to the most - the dragon slug. To almost any other being a dragon slug is terrifying - a twenty metre long, fire breathing dragon with almost impenetrable skin. And yet of all the beasts that I have fought on this trip, to a Devaronian this monster is no challenge at all. And so it began... That sleemo of a neimoidian was once again fighting from the safety of a vehicle, this time from the comfort of a three seater micro-barge fitted with a number of weapons. The rest of the party however had to fight the beast on foot. It had been released in the caverns of the volcanic northern wastelands and now reared up its ugly head. First, some idiot had brought along spears to the fight and through a couple at it, the first two bounced off but the second lodged in drawing a small amount of blood. This enraged the creature which sprayed a torrent of fire down upon us. As everyone panicked, I simply climbed up the beast's body, using the spear lodged in it as a handhold. Then I got to its head. As I looked down I saw that the Mayor's barge had been hit by the fire and was on fire. It looked like it was in a bad way, if I didn't act in a minute then the flames would probably blow the thing up soon. As much as I would have liked for the Mayor to not survive the encounter I had a job to do. Anyway, I stood on the creatures lower lip and raise my hands to the roof of its mouth, taking the full force of the flames that came at me. Then I pushed upwards with all my might. There was a resounding snap and the creatures upper jaw came clean off. I jumped from its mouth as it fell to the ground dead. Well, the Mayor realised that I had saved his life and pledged full support to the Triumvirate on Deysum, he awarded me the Order of Klerint and gave the Triumvirate permission to build a major base in Klerint to house both land forces and a sizeable fleet. Well, I still wasn't fond of the guy but I'd say the mission was a resounding success - perhaps now I'd be able to get back to the tropical paradise of Rishi. http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Fighting the Dragon Slug by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Fighting the Dragon Slug by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Fighting the Dragon Slug by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Fighting the Dragon Slug by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://20200426_170711-01 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Fighting the Dragon Slug by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Well a couple of notes about this build. First the Dragon Slug was pretty hard to get right, it is really quite round and yet the majority of the body is made with rectangular plates. The body is made of a number of modules which can be disconnected and reconfigured. I also tried to get the spots along the dragons back and I'm pretty happy with the result. The eyes were a big problem, the only reference images are from a comic which has quite a 'cartoon' style, this was the best solution that I had (lever bases on minifig heads) but it isn't quite perfect (from the wrong angle there is some resemblance to Elmo). The idea for how my character fought the creature came after watching episode 6 of The Mandalorian, after I saw that devaronians are very strong, near indestructible and fire resistant (I actually didn't know this at the time I chose for my character to be a devaronian). I'd also like to announce that the next set of builds I'm working on will be a murder mystery on Ota with @Tariq j, I'll explain more on how it will work as things go along but I think it will be quite a lot of fun, so keep an eye out.
  3. From my experience of fighting it in the game, that thing is terrifying and you have really captured that - love it! The arms maybe narrow a little too much near the end but you have captured the head fantastically and I think that is the most important feature of the creature.
  4. Thanks, it was something that I had seen other builders use and I felt like wires and pipes broke up the rocks with something more industrial, keeping the urban location.
  5. An updated version: this is currently the final version for judging: http://Deysum - Into the Darkness by marvelBoy123, on Flickr It is still 16x16 with just a little overhang in width.
  6. The dragon looks nice and the storyline is good too, looking forward to seeing what will happen to your character next!
  7. Agreed. Both dragons are effective, though I think the brown one is better as the larger eyes give it a bit more personality.
  8. Sounds cool, maybe you could find some ancient relic or something that might involve a connection to Darth Malgus?
  9. Really nice, the transition from snow to water looks really good!
  10. Nice, you've captured the shape well and the seating capacity is impressive!
  11. Amazing work, something very different from you but equally as great!
  12. Yeah, thats a good idea, I'll have a go with that!
  13. Added a little more ground at the top of the cliff to make the overhang smaller and I think it looks better. http://20200406_173058-01 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr
  14. Thanks, the wall technique was certainly fun. Yeah the dark tan/ brown bit was a bit of a problem. I wanted to add something on top but it being 4x4 makes very difficult dimensions to work with and I don't want it to extend too much detail on the front and risk making the street seem too cluttered. I'll probably redo it but right now the improvements on my other two builds are my main focus. Glad you guys like it!
  15. *Your entry has earned 6 XP* Farantros narrative: The Lylek are terrifying creatures but still better than that cowardly little sleemo of a neimoidian who was my host. We had been hunting a number of Lylek over the past few days and Charlie and I had been quite successful in exterminating the beasts. That was when the idea came to me. The venom on the barb of a Lylek is a mild poison that can disable its victims but is not lethal. For this reason it sees use in traditional Pacithhip medicines for pain relief and is hallucinogenic when taken in larger quantities resulting in it often being mixed with Spice. Well anyway, the stuff is perfectly legal but difficult to get hold of especially on a dump such as Deysum and here was one of the places that it was in high demand. We had been told that after our host had taken his pickings, we were each allowed to collect whatever trophies we wished from the corpses so I took a speeder and removed the barbs from each Lylek. The venom then had to be collected and distilled before bottling, it was a difficult and time consuming process but that helped drive the price up so I wasn't complaining. Well I found a guy in Dragnoor who would give me a good price for it and that was settled. Before I continue, I guess I should explain my motives. Some would say it was questionable to sell such things and I could hardly disagree but you see I needed the money. I could live quite comfortably on my allowance, it wasn't a lavish lifestyle, but I didn't have to watch every credit. Then Charlie came along. Karius had been quite clear with me, I could keep her working for me, but the Triumvirate wouldn't pay her - she was my responsibility and her wage would have to come out of my pocket. Add a second person into the mix and things start to get expensive. With the credits I could get from this, the problems would be sorted for a while. Besides, the money from the sale should be able to sustain us until I got a pay rise. And speaking of pay rises, I had been getting a few hints that I might be given some high position in the administration of Deysum once we had fully occupied it... Anyway back to the story. I ended up in one of the roughest neighbourhoods in Dragnoor in the middle of the night - not my smartest move. Luckily, I had a death trooper escort. As we approached the address, there was a Togruta standing outside. 'Down the alley, first door on the right, second story, your guard stays out here.' she told me. http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Into the Darkness by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Into the Darkness by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Into the Darkness by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Well the transaction went smoothly from there and all seemed fine... I would love you feedback!
  16. Thanks, I'm definitely going to change the colours on the base, I reckon I can get away with the lighter shades, but I agree the dark green is a little too stark. I also agree that it is a little more like a boat than I wanted but I don't think I'll change that because I would rather use that piece than try a different approach which I think equally might not work. The Silooth was certainly fun to build, but I stumbled upon it completely by mistake as Though that the praetorian guard helmets looked like mandibles and worked from there. Glad you like it!
  17. Map: F5 It was dusk and we were moving towards the border but not too near, our orders were to stay within Deland and avoid any threat or confrontation with Tosulese forces at the border. Alsarh's strongest military asset was its armour and so we have brought in one of our new Challenger 3 tanks. It had been difficult to get one across here, so we had paid an Alsarhian cargo ship to carry it for us alongside a secure guard. We had taken specialist troops and an Alkapba commander who had experience of fighting in arid climates and could blend in with the locals. It was still some distance to the border when it happened. We passed a small compound, our troop carrier parked up behind and the troops got out just to check the building. The road ahead had been weathered and covered by sand, luckily it would be passable in our tank. Then as the troops got out, we were ambushed. Two of them, poorly equipped but they could still do some damage to the vehicles. We cleared them out in no time. On searching the bodies we found GLA insignias on small badges that each of them had. We continued further North on the lookout for other insurgents using the same trail. http://GBW - AMBUSH by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://GBW - AMBUSH by marvelBoy123, on Flickr
  18. Nice, the hut and kayaks look really good! I wonder if the rocks could have done with a little more snow on the front/top just to be consistent with the building.

  20. *Your entry has earned 7 XP* "The silooth are mutated from beetles. Long ago, the Sith scattered them across the world of Kalsunor. The click of their mandible became a dire drumbeat. These tank-sized scavengers can still be found on the planet, melting its ruined cities with sprays of acid. The Sith keep swarms of them in reserve for another campaign." ―Sorzus Syn, Chronicle of Sorzus Syn Farantros narrative: I'm not much of a believer in playing God. The Lord Mayor of Klerint is. Though I could be mistaken, he probably just thinks that he is God. And that is why that crazy son of a bantha woke up one morning looked in the mirror and said to himself: 'You know what would be a really good idea? Lets find some ancient sith warbeast that spits acid, lays waste to cities and is covered in spikes, genetically engineer it to be even more dangerous, transport it halfway across the galaxy and then make a bunch of diplomats who want to win my favour come out into the toxic wastelands of Deysum and hunt it with me. What a kniffing little Stupa! Well at least me and Charlie aren't like the bunch of half-witted diplomats in our hunting party. We've got three casualties already. The Mayor had released four genetically engineered Silooth and between us we had to hunt and kill them. Luckily, the Triumvirate had supplied some credits in their budget for me and charlie to get some specialised outfits and weaponry. It wasn't too hard a hunt to be honest. I even took one of them out - a clean shot right between the eyes. While the rest of us are on the ground dodging acid spray and pincers, the Mayor flys around on a specialised hunting platform with a droid chauffeur. Seriously, he can't even be bothered to hunt properly. I have little patience for the bureaucrat, he's a means to an end but once the Triumvirate controls Deysum, I'll make sure that I won't have to hear his whiny voice ever again. http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Hunting the Silooth by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Hunting the Silooth by marvelBoy123, on Flickr My Silooth http://Star Wars Factions - Deysum - Hunting the Silooth by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Well this one has green landscaping, keeping up the interesting colours (though I do not like it as much as the blue). However, the main focus is clearly the silooth, which was not an easy task and features some really weird parts. For a little fun I will attach a list of unusual parts to find in the build - there are quite a few. If you would like to see more angles of the Silooth just ask! https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Silooth/Legends
  21. Really nice, so many great little details!
  22. Love the swamp concept and it is really nicely executed as is the maungur.
  23. Yeah, I kinda see Deysum as one massive experiment - chuck some colours together and see if it works and I think that it has with the last two. Its nice building on a place that has no reference imaging, it gives the freedom to make something really weird. The blue was a lot of fun because the colours compliment each other nicely and I managed to get two minifigure hats into my landscape. Expect many more weird uses of hats, hair and helmets throughout this episode! I will make the cliff a little larger then take a photo to see which looks best, I agree that there is one spot that should come out a little more.
  24. I'll do F5. What should we do following the Tosul forces raid? Is it genuine? Our best course of action is to continue the planned objectives and continue recon of Bahn Puor through our contacts in the resistance to see if Tosul really has acted as it claims.
