Just look in the threads of previous years. Last year, for example: - late october some pics of the polybag models - late november, we got the first leaked pics of January wave - early december some prelim pics of the line-up from Stonewars/Promobricks of Januar/March - early/mid december the names of the Summer wave

Technic General Discussion
Jundis replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Same here, we need a change. But I think TLG doesn't really know how to do it properly, as there is the Speed Champions series and some "fast things" in the Creaters series. Another Racers series would mean another splitting of themes... maybe include Technic cars in Speed Champions? As always, even with the horrible 2026 line-up in mind, I am somewhat hopeful (the Lego Box is always half full for me). We are nearing the 50 year anniversary in 2027, maybe we see a recollection of what Technic makes Technic once again. -

Thanks, man :-) I really like this one, too. Here is the first test of the erecting mechanism for the crane. It's only 1 PF M-motor and a winch. The only big downside right now is the orange "security" pin. If the boom isn't held in place, it would instantly trigger the telescope mechanism first instead of the lifting the main boom. Also no weights are added, but it still functions very nice, gotta change the batteries, though :D

Oh man completely overlooked the beautiful boat! And the simplicity and compact form of the axle is really cool, too :D -

You mean this one for sure ;-) Sadly not mine... :D -
Didn't want to start a new thread about this, so here we go: As I came out of the dark ages in 2016/17, I have to catch up with older model. So just this weekend I built the 42024 container truck from 2014 and always thought as this to be one of these models which ticks all boxes for me: - midsized - model with real functions - good looks Even during the building process I was kinda stunned at some building solutions. They were neither that stable nor that "good". Especially the small gearbox for the actuation with a strange half-step offset really wasn't pleasant at all to built. In pictures, this model looks better than in real life. The cab is just a hollow shell, in contrast to e.g. 42175. The container is way too small and still the actuation mechanism struggles with it, which is really strange as the two LAs should manage this load easily. The option for PU is really nice, though. This brings me back to a statement I made ealier: As we all grow grumpy (don't deny it... ;-) ), is it maybe some heavy nostalgia influencing our perception of newer models? Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of the car-heavy line-up we are facing currently (2026 line-up looks horrible imho), but from a purely objective standpoint: I think we exaggerate a little bit how good the models were in the "good" years.

This is what the 42203 should have been like! Packed with functions and nice look in this scale. The front is instandly recognisable without any stickers. Also modularity is always a plus for a truck ;-) Great work, Kyle! On a side note: I recently built the 42024 and was a little bit disappointed about the speed of the action in manual mode. You showed that a smaller scale it might work better for these functions. With an extra axle, there should be enough room for same functionality as 42024. -
@gyenesvi explained my thoughts very well. Also black tracks maybe work better here. But .... I just dropped my jaw realizing the part in the middle of the upper structure isn't DBG but also dark blue! It's only the reflection of the light from the wooden table playing tricks on me :D Can you please make a pic on another surface? On the screen of my phone it is much better visible.

It's hard to put it in word but I think the colours don't "flow" to my taste, can't really tell actually.... Maybe the DBG in the mix? The shape itself is really nice, as street excavators need a short (or better non) overhang at all to not disturb any obstacles. The 3x11 curved panel on the first boom is great, the second one also looks nice, only the third one seems a little thin imho. Really care for your response about my humble opinion :)

I don't like the looks of it. This is where my critics end, the whole build is such a great package of functions! :D You squeezed in all the essential in such a tight form, its fascinating , let alone the range of motion of the arm! Great work, Appie!

Thank you! I try to follow the rule to make models only as big as they need to be, so the "formal normal" Arocs scale for trucks wouldn't have add others functions than what we get with this smaller scale. Progress right now on the crane is the mechanism for the outriggers, actuated with a small LA, pushing 2 gear racks engaged in 12 t gears. Still unsure, if I will go with full motorization on this crane, maybe the erecting would be too much manual work otherwise.

Hi guys+gals, finally I came up with a solution for the front I am satisfied with, so I can present the final model of the truck. It is unbranded but inspired by an MAN, especially the fenders. Sadly, there are no 7 stud flip-flop-beams in blue so far, so there is a black beam on the cab visible next to the grill. @1gor Please excuse my choice of the front wheel cover, but it makes the model "special" :D Thanks to the idea of @Divitis it now has a workable steering wheel additional to the HOG on the warning light on the cab. It also has an fake inline 6 with the small yellow cylinders. The whole model can easily be stripped down to sub-assamblies. So it is easy to switch out the cab or have other attachments or rebuild the model into a tractor truck. I already have another version in mind: Long-timber truck :-) To finish this up: The truck actually was the easy part, now the challenge begins with the fast erecting crane... :D

What a cool build, the chassis looks so clean and no unuseful additional part to see :-) How well does the 20t half bevel gear mesh with the 16t? Never thought of using this solution for narrow builds... -

Really interesting and indeed would be cool to see this in action in an upcoming Technic car. At least Lego now has multiple models coming up to at least use some of this interesting new techniques :D -
Grum's Shed

Your persistence is really impressive, Grum! The story of the struggle with 15100 is really bugging me as this is a very useful part but my oh my is it a pain to insert two of them at the same time. My nephew once asked for help especially for placing this part on set 42147... he thought he made some mistake on windscreen or the piece was wrongly molded... -
RC Wheel loader
Jundis replied to ludov's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi ludov! Glad to help, at least a bit :D I really like the configuration of the tires and the bucket you used. This really is a perfect scale for motorized set, where all the electronics are hidden away. Did you try to use the medium LA for the bucket tilt instead of the small one? I think there should be enough space available in you model. Would love to see a small video of this machine in movement ;-)
