  1. I'd like to contradict myself: This gear would be better for the looks and easier on the finger to operate then the spur gear:
  2. Really cool little set! Perfect usage of the parts. @msk6003 Totally agreed. Would at least swap the 20T in tan for the dark azure version of the spur gear.
  3. An inversed setup would work way better: Driving through the gears and a steering axle in between them. I'm pretty sure, I've already seen this setup in other Lego models, but not sure in which one exactly.
  4. Maybe the small machines are there due to the complaints from the technic designers to management: Designers: "Please no more cars! Let us design some construction machines again!" Managment: "Ok you can design 8 of any kind. Just get em below 50 pieces for each one...." Designers: "Wait, what...?"
  5. Just tested it and same here. I think it's not the 7L beam but the red 16t gear pressing on the driving axle passing through it. If you turn hard enough you can even stop the rear wheels by the amount of friction loaded onto this axle.
  6. Exactly my thoughts. But while looking at the off-brands construction machinery, most of the things are very dull, ugly or overcomplicated (big models for the sake of being big with no real additional features). There is really a lack of models within 1000...2500 parts that have just the right amount of functions for their sizes.
  7. On a side note: I find it very amusing that this set was so harshly critiqued not only for the price and the looks but also the PU-play functions and now seems to gain interest again after seeing the failure of 2026 Technic lineup :D Maybe in a few years, we will have the 42215 highly praised as the last real construction technic set before the downfall and overtake of the technic cars...
  8. I am slowly beginning to think, that Lego is mocking the Technic community... Leaked June release from City Theme: 60480 - Yellow Backhoe Loader - 301 pieces 60494 - Dump Truck and Front Loader - 1132 Pieces
  9. Maybe a celebration of 50 Technic cars in 2027... I'm a complete optimist, but looking at the current list for 2026 makes me shake my head in disbelieve. It's like a bad fever dream... a not even one of the cars is truly unique... At least Lego should have the decency to create a new car transporter for all these.
  10. Would have been too strange looking at the known list, which was missing 11 models... 42228 (March wave Mclaren F1) Summer wave: 42232 42241 42242 Even though it's still a car, it is actually a very interesting one.
  11. My god, what a beast it is! Not pretty but big, very big. As I am a sucker for internals and axle routing, can you give us a glimpse of the insides?
  12. Then let's do 500 g for a Winter theme :D
  13. I am with @JoKo with 300 g. Original, we had models in mind with about 150...250 pieces. The 500 g would be models with 500+ pieces. The 42167 for example has 503 pieces.
  14. The 42167 Garbage Truck weighs nearly 400 g, the 42139 ATV about 630 g. Don't have any other official models in that scale right now.
  15. This would be very cool. 250 g without tires would fullfill most of the plans I guess :-) Would be too heavy I think, better without any such pieces... Yeah, would be better.
  16. Pretty much sums this up. Actually it is a self-fullfilling prophecy: --> Lego brings out more cars and less "real" Technic models --> EB community reacts in saying the line-up is less interesting --> die-hard fans will buy less new models and focus on second-hand market --> EB community has less impact on the sales figures --> repeat from the beginning I'm pretty sure there will be some models, maybe even in 2026, that will be highly praised by the community. But I don't really expect a technic prime year like e.g. 2016. Still I have high hopes for 2027. An 50th anniversary "technic" year with just cars would be a disaster.
  17. Ah you are right... so 9 out of 11 ... still a miserable rate.
  18. Hmm pretty sure in the leaked pic it's this 43.2 rim, also counting the chevrons: 18 on medium, 20 on big tractor tire. But the proportions to the liftarm above is indeed strange. Maybe perspective?
  19. So we are currently at the level that 10 out of 11 sets are cars... the only real technic set is the 10€ John Deere Harvester... The summer wave better be good.
  20. Would have been strange that this leak was faked since the medium tractor tires weren't around that time. There were many speculation in the forum while the third axle has been left out. Could be just cutting costs, but maybe had more to do with traction, since Lego advertised the vehicle with it's climbing ability (at least on wood or other flat surfaces, not on dirt). Also the Zetros got a facelift at that time and the outer shape of the grill changed.
  21. That's true, we are still missing a convertable since the 8448 from 1999! Also where are the FWD cars, which make the majority of streets vehicles? A big plus for more sets each year are the new pieces they bring us. Especially new suspension components, gears and panels. The latter in multiple colours.
  22. The first leaked pics in 2021 were in 6x6 configuration, looked way better imho ;-)
  23. It really comes down to this I think: Most Technic fanatics don't mind that cars are making the majority of new entries, if: - the number of non-car technic models is still sufficient (lets say 10 cars per year and 10 other models, or even 12 / 8 would be fine for me) - the quality of the non-car models is still consistently high (looking down at you and spitting out, 42215) - a decent mix of Heavy Machinery / Trucks / Agriculture / ... is maintained - a decent mix of small / medium / big models is maintained - a decent mix of non-electric, electric, RC and pneumatic models is maintained, focus is on non-electric. In the video of @kbalage at min 1:00, the graph shows that the sum of non-heavy and other machines are very consistent over the years with 7...11 models.
