DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
You can only vaguely discuss it if you change all the names, don't mention anything specific, and only talk in first-person. Nemo says: no it's fine, discuss on.- 8,446 replies

I've taken the pictures down. Long story short, the point is we are Lego's friend, and if we want to stay friends, we need to be respectful of their wishes.- 8,446 replies

I don't get the feeling that there's 2500+ pieces in this. The cave largely consists of columns, and overall it's rather hollow. But who knows. Batgirl would have made a better promo figure than Mr. Freeze I think--at least in regards to the importance of her character on the show. Maybe Lego didn't want to go through the cost of recoloring her headpiece.- 8,446 replies

Seems likely that it'll be priced around $159.99--$199.99 to me. It's comparable to Arkham in size and piece amount (The large panels make it big without adding tons of parts). For sure nothing like the cost of the GB Headquarters or anything. The Classic Mr. Freeze is most likely a polybag figure that will be released in conjunction with the Batcave VIP release.- 8,446 replies

I don't know... I've never seen a wall like that in a Lego set before--it honestly looks like something one of those 'other' companies would do. It's just an ugly block. Just off this image, I think too much was sacrificed to utilize the new fireman-pole element from the GB Headquarters. It's like the cave is way scaled down--but those are not. They're also on the wrong side, but whatever. Edit: I do however, very much appreciate the sound effects.- 8,446 replies

Although I understand the frustration at the lack of Lego on the storefront shelves (heck my Target start placing Nerf guns in the empty Lego isle! ), this is really not the place for that discussion. Let's focus on the sets themselves shall we? Incidentally in the meantime, let's not get too far into speculation either. Listing names is fun, but we can do that in the wishlist thread please.- 8,446 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Captain Nemo replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ooo! These sound interesting, if not to my wallet. I'm a huge fan of Rebels so I'm excited to see what the new sets will look like. The Vader & A-Wing set sounds promising, and judging by the source it should come with a blue colored A-Wing. I do wonder if they'll give Vader a unique helmet with red visor eyes--it's a very noticeable feature in the show because it's a design style that was lost in the movies after A New Hope. The AT-TE should be spectacular. It was very stunning in the show (although it's ridiculous to think it could have beat three early AT-AT in combat, that was stupid). The only downside would be the inclusion of the 'should be dead' Clones, who I absolutely hate. They had their own show already--get out of Rebels! -

I picked up Takodana from Target today for $49.99 too. Weirdly enough however, when I price checked it, the name shown on the scanner was "Lego Star Wars Hall of Mirrors $49.99" and not Battle on Takondana. Not sure what that was about... -

Clearly fake. He's not in shades of pink nor does he have a poorly hidden mustache. Incidentally, if it were real, we couldn't post it here anyways--remember everyone, watermarked images are a no no!- 8,446 replies

Shocker! Not expecting 66 Freeze to be included at all. I was only expecting the main four villains.- 8,446 replies

Great figures all around. I'm a bit disappointed in the builds however, the Harley set seems a bit lackluster on that end. Iffy on Deadshot's legs too, but that set is an instant buy regardless. And +1 for the Win on Mighty Micro's--got ourselves a great torso for a version of Batman from Batman: The Animated Series.- 8,446 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Captain Nemo replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Impressive sets all around on the Marvel side. They all have really nice builds and really desirable figures. Kudos too for Lego getting many female and new characters in the cheaper more accessible sets. New parts abound too--is that a new windshield? New wings for someone finally too. Really pleased with these movie sets. I will say however that I'm not thrilled at the sight of another Quinjet, even if this one's scale is way...different. Just too many vehicles of that shape! Three Quinjets, Milano, even the Kryptonian Dropship--they are all too similar to me. That said, Giant-Man is great, and now Lego has no excuse to not make Giganta! -

Let's please not beat dead horses with this continual debate on the legitimacy of minifigures supposedly hailing from the factories of Mexico. Until such time that we can unequivocally confirm or deny the status of said figures, please do not bring up and debate these figures again. Patience is a virtue, and we'll find out soon enough whether these are truly Lego's designs or not.- 8,446 replies

Thanks to Luiggi over on Flickr, we have our first look at one of the DC Mighty Micro Figures: Catwoman Personally, I think she looks great (especially in comparison to the other Marvel figures we are seeing for the line). The use of the black head is interesting and it works well for the mask look. Incidentally, she has no alternative face but she does have back printing.- 8,446 replies

Thanks again to Luiggi over on Flickr we have our first look at some of the upcoming Mighty Micro Minifigures: But now, first, let us all remember the good words of Thumper: If you can't say somethin' nice, don't say nothin' at all! And with that, I ain't gonna say nothing. -

Chrome bricks are always nice to have, either official ones or custom ones--I've got multiples of both. Rarity is really the overall problem. Which is why my Lego minifigures are mercantilists, and are constantly 18th century warring over the twenty or so coins in my collection. On custom chrome, I have a good experience through my contacts and build requirements. I think more so than official chrome, custom chrome pieces are only for display, ever. Getting custom parts chromed is not nearly as easy as buying some official chromed parts off Bricklink, and they are a lot harder to replace. Custom chrome parts are always a bit stiff, and can sometimes be a chore to attach/detach because of their super clutch strength. It's not aided by the fact that removing chrome bricks from something rather frightening, as one does not want to do anything that might chip away at the chrome. My experience has varied from chrome providers. Some are good, some not so good. All are pricey. I've never used Chrome Bricks, as I find their selection lacking. They seem to me to be on the expensive side too. I've worked through some contacts to get my own selected bricks chromed too--which turned out very nice with a strong durability--and that was three dollars a piece. The trouble is, with chrome, you really don't know what you are going to get until it's in your hands. It's a risky and pricey venture for sure.

SNOT: "Studs Not On Top" Most often in reference to tile usage; a technique in which no Lego studs are visible on a specific area or entirety of a creation.

Picked up the set today from Toys R Us; it's spectacular. The figures are all very good, with the exception of 11's legs--as the print color is off and really doesn't match the torso color unfortunately. My favorite for sure is the Weeping Angel; she's a spectacular figure and I just want an army's worth now. Clara is great too, as her duel molded then printed legs are very nice. The build itself is good, especially the control panels. On the Tardis itself, I think it's a great representation, but it's too big, too tall specifically. I'm not sure how this could have been corrected, but it's still a nice looking model.

Oh I absolute hate the new thick capes. I already have a bunch from the Superhero line, and honestly I don't even like toughing the minifigures that use them. Despite being flexible, the new capes feel extremely fragile, like they could rip any second. Worst of all, they just look terrible on figures. They are far too thick, especially at the neck, and they make any figure look like they're wearing a scarf.

Is there really no Infinity Gauntlet in that set? Seriously? Lego is just plain stupid with their Superhero choices sometimes. Giving us half a character--Thanos and the IG are inseparable; you cannot say one without thinking of the other. Even a mediocre print on the hand would have worked. Wonder how many years we have to wait to get that one now. -

Captain Nemo replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Really nice wave all around. Lots of very nice figures I wouldn't mind accidentally selecting to buy! My favorite is the Saytr--his new molds are fantastic, and I really want to get a hoard of them. The Shark guy is also really sweet; although I'm a bit surprised that most people are iffy on him. I am disappointed in some of the figures though, as some are too bland. The spaceman is nothing special besides his classic flag; and I hate the Robot--largely because I dislike those Galaxy Squad molds. The Kendo warrior is useless; he's already available through Ninjago basically. I love the knight, but for some reason I don't think an army of them would look particularly good together, not sure why. I'm really looking forward to the Winged Warrior's helmet piece, since I think it looks fantastic. But I do think it's a bit of a miss figure overall, since it would have been the perfect opportunity to finally get a new good wing mold, something like the Gargoyle's wings from the last wave but larger. Granted I still think this is the one of best waves in a while.
