  1. Love the first shots of series 16. The Snow Queen is simply amazing, really awesome--and she'll work great for Jadis. Granted now I need to find more fauns quick-like since series 15 is apparently disappearing. Either way, she'll no doubt be the best of the wave. The rogue looks great too, better than I expected, since he really could have been a hit or miss design. I like the cyborg's hair, since colored hair is always good--and the babysitter and pirate look great. Banana guy not so much--that print is annoying, and unfortunately he doesn't really blend with the DC theme's Banana Driver, at least not without changing the torso and legs. Rather indifferent on the penguin, but like everyone else I'm forced to buy it now to continue the costumed animal sub-collection.
  2. No this does not make the figure rare or more valuable on its own. It's just a miss aligned print which is not uncommon on minifigure heads, although this one is clearly an extreme case. Either way, this is not a goldmine find--still, a nice figure though. Not much more can be said about this, so I'm going to close this thread.
  3. Enough with the non-physical character discussion. This thread is specifically for physical Dimensions bricks, not digital ones. Speculation or assumptions of what could show up does not in any way, belong here.
  4. I think it looks great. I wasn't really knowledgeable or interested in the film prior to the set reveal--that that set really changed my entire opinion honestly. So I'm really excited to see where this goes.
  5. Don't complain to me about it. Lego clearly does not want upcoming products to be shown off months before their intended release date. To say friends, we comply and remove the images. Simple as that.
  6. The new D2C is apparently rumored to be based on a Minifigure series (like the Simpsons sets), it will not be a series of minifigures itself. This is the case.
  7. This is getting off track. Let's please focus on the sets from this year, not from six years ago. Thank you! And for the record, clearly the 2006 Batman is based on the Burton version.
  8. I've been watching this themed wave from afar since I'm personally weary of getting into another property (considering I just got pulled back into Star Wars); so although I've not been vocal about it, I was really excited for this wave. Was. I think because of my preconceptions of what this wave could have been, or the fact that we were led to believe there would be certain things and not others (Jafar ), I'm more disappointed than I should be. Personally, I'm really only interested in the villains anyways, so on that front I think Lego is doing well. Ursula is utterly amazing: the hair, the tentacles--I just hope she has an evil alternate face too. I'd be lying if I didn't say she might end up being one of my favorite minifigures ever. Maleficent is a welcome surprise, and I think she delivers well. I love her face and horns, as well as the top half of her cape--I'm only disappointed in the normal standard bottom half of the cape, which is a bit boring. Something more accurate would have been nice. I'm always looking to add more magic folk to my collection too. Other villains I don't think were nearly as successful. Syndrome is weird frainkly. The hair piece is amazing, and I hope he has molded white boots, but man that face destroys the figure. Captain hook is really iffy to me. Likewise his face just looks wrong. But he has a new hook piece. I guess that gives Lego more excuses to make even more CMF Captains! Most everything else in my opinion are total passes. I do feel slightly obligated to get Mickey--so he can assert his dominance over my other properties, beating them with a bat if they step out of line, and then grow to tremendous proportions to melt cities with his angry fire breath. But that aside, Pan is nice, Alice is nice, Stitch (whatever that is) is nice. Ariel is good. Then there's terrible ones like Mr. Fantastic Incredible, the Genie, and Buzz. In short, I would like this series to continue--though I need more villains. Especially Gaston, Hades (who considering Ghost Rider, should have been included instead of those two rehashes), Cruella de Vil (see Hades, but substitute Kraven) and Jafar. More villains!
  9. Kallus being my favorite Star Wars character (60% for the beard, 40% for Oyelowo's voice work ), I was really excited for this episode and it in no way was I disappointed. I thought the beginning was very good and the hints about what happened to the Geonosians (and their connection to the Death Star) was neat, especially as it was viewed through the eyes of characters who knew nothing of what actually happened (Kallus included). It really added a foreboding sense to the episode as the actual situation was way worse than the Ghost crew could ever imagine. Everything with Zeb and Kallus was great, especially their conversations. I liked that Kallus' personality/attitude flip-flopped once he was out of his element and incredibly injured (those constant pain-screams were intense), which made him contrast with the surprisingly clam and level headed Zeb. Plus he kept the meteor at the end (although didn't ask for crutches which was weird). I'm not sure if this means Kallus is headed for redemption. I actually think I want him to retain his evilness, even if he does become a bit flakey about it.
  10. That's enough talk on other possible Batman variants--we are getting too off track. Please focus on set discussions rather than wishlists. Thanks!
  11. Due note however that this is indeed a Direct to Consumer set...which means it will never be on sale.
  12. I changed the title. But I'm also going to be sending this over to Media and Gaming; since this discussion does not involve physical bricks and would be more at home with the rest of the gaming discussion.
  13. That seems better than I thought it would be...but its still incredibly useless.
  14. I'm obviously focused on licensed, so I think in terms of the most hated Superhero set it would be either Electro/Spider-'Trike' (the one with four wheels) or more likely: Mandarin Golfcart, which has become a broadly known synonymous description for any terribly inaccurate set.
  15. The Force Awakens and the show Rebels have really peaked my interest in Star Wars again (which is used to solely collect), so I've been starting to gather up some of the figures I missed out on and the ones being released now. Here are my top five from my collection (clearly I favor the imperials): 5) Classic Boba Fett I love the classic look of this character, far more so than any of the new helmet/jetpack design versions (with their ridiculous rangefinder). 4) Kylo Ren I only own one TFA set apparently, Takodana, which seemed like the only non rip-off set to me (well except the Rey's speeder), luckily Kylo was included because he's a topnotch figure. His face print is especially well done--and like Kallus below, it's always a tough choice for me to use either the helmet or the hair, since both look equally spectacular. Crossguard lightsaber is also sweet, although I wish it was actually slightly longer. 3) Emperor Palpatine (75093) Recently picked up this version on the aftermarket, and I feel its easily the coolest Palapatine yet! Previously I only had the classic and Imperial Inspection versions, the former of which I thought was very good, but this latest version is just spectacular. The tan skin works very well. 2) Bossk My favorite Lego Bounty Hunter--just too cute with the yellow jumpsuit! 1) Agent Kallus He is actually my favorite Star Wars character. And I'll be honest, 60% because he has the most amazing facial hair the in galaxy and 40% because of David Oyelowo's epic voice. Plus he's amazing in combat. He destroyed Zeb in battle with the same type of weapon that Zeb has used his entire life. Anyways, I actually upgraded the figure significantly because Lego chose to dress him completely in black for some inaccurate reason. I replaced the arms with dark bley and legs with Batman's dark bley/molded black boots (which look amazing on every Imperial Officer incidentally; I just ordered a bunch off Bricks & Pieces for this very reason) and he's virtually 1:1 to screen appearance. Gorgeous!
  16. Any purchase totaling $75 or more. The offer makes no stipulation (on the back of the store calendar) that it must be $75 worth of DC sets.
  17. Way too early.
  18. I'm inexperienced with Bricks & Pieces. I placed my first order apparently on 2/3...and I've seen nothing yet; it was a small order too. I've not received any emails say that it shipped, but the order status say 'completed' on Lego.com. Is this normal?
  19. Can't wait to see more. I love Rebels and the Ghost specifically, but I was shocked to see that the official Ghost model is so terrible out of proportion (I started watching the series only a few months ago, after the sets came out), hopefully you'll be able to rectify that problem. I'd love to build a minifigure scale Ghost too at some point, so this will be interesting to see how your's turns out.
  20. Although switching subjects, I was giving it some thought, and I wonder if the Ice Queen might utilize the new fur/neck piece (perhaps in white) introduced with Kraven the Hunter for Marvel's summer wave. I could see that piece being used for Cruella de Vil too, but that may be jumping to conclusions. Either way, I want the White Witch!
  21. Ok, let's not get a head of ourselves: 1) Aside from the name, and presumed inclusion of Ra's (and Batman); we don't know much else--so let's not jump into wild wishlist speculation here. 2) Let's also not get too excited either...we don't want another Killer Croc Sewer incident... Thanks!
  22. This upcoming wave sounds great--hopefully they army builders turn out nice, as do the costumed fellows. Most of all though I'm excited for the Ice Queen; I really hope she just turns out to be basically the Tilda Swinton White Witch. What with the the recent faun, and past Minotaur, we are getting close to completing our Narnia ranks. Well that is until Lego gives us a Centaur...and a Lion. Then they can all battle the Lord of the Rings minifigures!
  23. Nothing has been confirmed per-se about the movie, but it's a given that there will be sets based on it. Considering it's a bonafide Lego Batman movie, there undoubtedly will be sets. But--that's not until 2017 and we don't know anything yet, nor do we need to discuss what we don't know now.
  24. Please stop the fowl language and assuming your opinion is the only one people should have. Let's please keep discussion on the set specifically everyone; not how you may or may not feel about the upcoming movie. Thanks!
