  1. Better view of the new Banner, and the Raven figure via Hero Bricks from Flickr:
  2. The world does not revolve around Dr. Who. And again, Lego would get far more people playing the game by adding in more and more wide-variety franchises than building up one that less people may be interested in. In regards to Simpsons, I agree it may have been better to use Marge or Lisa as opposed to say Krusty, but it does appear Lego was very limited in regards to their Simpsons options as they lacked the ability to use the voice actors (with the exception being ‎Dan Castellaneta), which not only made the characters rather quiet, but severely limited the level options. It's seems clear that some franchises are one-off's and others are not. Apparently. There's a good amount of options on who it could include. I'm hoping for the Ice King, although I could see him being used as the level villain instead (if not the Lich, as indication from Finn's box art).
  3. Every franchise has tons of characters they could do. I don't know why there's the continual assumption that they will go back to "old" franchises to make more characters. Lego will (and should) only go forward with new franchises to entice more people to join in to the game. Plus they've already made full games for Harry Potter, Jurassic World, LotR, etc. so making more packs for them is rather redundant. Not that I don't appreciate their inclusion in the first place.
  4. Wow, impressive line up. Not only in terms of the quality of the physical parts, but the new franchises too. Left speechless, not sure what to say!
  5. No, we do not need to start a 2017 now. It's June. Most of the new sets have yet to even make it to stores, so we are jumping the gun a little bit--especially since I've yet to see any info on potential future sets that would warrant the need to create a new thread at this time. FYI Everyone: However, when the time comes for a new thread, we ask that Clone OPatra or I are the ones to create it. Previously, this was just done by various members rather spontaneously, and while that was appreciated, we would like that to not be the case in the future. Having a staff member create the important "year threads" ensures that we are the only ones (without the aid of the third-party member) able to update the all important first page, and thus keep all the necessary standards up in regards to format and release (or removal) of sensitive information. Thanks!
  6. I recently picked up the A-Wing set. It's a bit pricey, but it helps if you just grab it off the shelf and quickly pay for it without looking at the price scanner. As a fan of the show, I wanted this set both for the figures (especially Sabine) and for the vehicles--it's my first A-Wing and Vader's tie incidentally. Overall it's a good set. Sabine is amazing, especially her new hair (although unfortunately her old helmet doesn't look the greatest on her--it's a bit dull in comparison to the new body); as is the new Tarkin, which puts the old version to shame. Vader is nice as well. This is the first time I've gotten a new helmet Vader, so I'm still getting used to it. I'm not a fan of how the helmet is angled upward. I do wish they gave him a unique mold/helmet print for his Rebels design--or at the least, a different head print. The ships are good, especially the A-Wing. As I read in Brickset's review, and have experienced personally, they are surprisingly very heavy. The A-Wing is seemingly over-designed I will say. It's a nice swooshable vehicle, but the wings/engines do move around because of their weak attachment which is annoying. The Tie is alright, but it does seem a bit stubby.
  7. After confirming with a multiple sources, I've determined that these Fantastic Beasts are upcoming Dimensions packs. As such, please direct all discussion about them to the underutilized Lego Dimensions Physical Brick Discussion thread. Thank you!
  8. It still seems to be rather unclear if we are even getting sets for Fantastic Beasts (incidentally, I've shortened the ridiculously long name for the title--we all know what it is ) or not. I don't consider off-hand YouTube remarks to be credible--at least not credible enough to warrant making new topics. So, until we can determine if we are getting sets or Dimensions packs, I'm going to keep this open, because there is apparent interest. IF we are not getting sets, but Dimensions backs, I will close this thread. Other threads already deal with the physical brick discussion of Dimensions and as such we would then not need this thread. Thank you!
  9. As TheLegoDr noted, the parts are already out, although so far only in one set: Arendelle Castle Celebration I for one am happy to get plant stalks in any new color, and these lavender ones are particularly nice. They may not be as universally useful as say olive green ones, but they do look great in bunches. I recently picked up 20 or so off Bricklink for a Wonderland creation--they really do add a unique appearance to any build.
  10. Guys, can we focus on the sets please? Discussion about how to disembowel a keychain are not particularly relevant to this thread. Thanks!
  11. Wow! Very shocking that he has such a detailed head print--very reminiscent of the Scooby-Doo monsters and their extreme prints. I love Killer Moth the more I see him, which is good considering I hated him at first. Still not a fan of the transparent wings and the non-Lego game design helmet, but that figure is very nice regardless.
  12. Are they selling the Mighty Micros in bulk batches now? That's new(s).
  13. Its part of the overall Brickworld Chicago raffle/auction. At some point during the private days they'll go around with a bag asking people for random bricks, and after they gather a bunch, it's placed in raffle for people to try and win with tickets they purchase. Pretty simple.
  14. I'll be up for some trading this year. I didn't participate in the minifigure trade last year, and I apparently missed out on some good deals. But this year is different! I'll mostly have just a bunch of random minifigures and CMFs. A couple of Disney duplicates to unload (Hooks, Minnies, etc), and other figs (CMF Sharks, Hotdogs, etc.), as well as some superhero polybags (Raccoons, Electros). And anything else I can cobble up to get rid of! Incidentally anyone, if you have leftover junk parts too, you can always bring them to add into the potluck raffle pool. It's a chance to win a bunch of random bricks. I've got 40 or so of these purple things I want to curse someone else with!
  15. Lucky Duck! I've been trying to find that one one DVD, but because of the whole "fault system scheme" Mickey's got going, it has been nearly impossible (well I guess I could go on Ebay, but whatever). It's rather hard to find some of the good classics in stores, at least if you don't mind giving up an arm and a leg (or soul) as payment. When the live action version gets closer to release though, Disney will most likely release the animated one again thankfully. I must note it's rather shocking to find people who've not seen Disney movies. Obviously, there's tons of people who have not seen them, but still--it's great now that you can finally enjoy them. Must have been tough to avoid spoilers from movies released decades and decades ago!
  16. Pretty good series all around. Clear standouts for me are the Snow Queen and Secret Agent. I'm a bid disappointed in the former because I thought she would utilize the newer "queen" dress but she is nonetheless great--and passable as Jadis, which is all I wanted anyways. The Secret Agent however is a total shocker--wow that figure is great! I assumed he would be somewhat along the lines of the Jewel Thief (ergo not very interesting), but he looks spectacular. Reminds me of Archer too, which is a big plus! There are a couple weak links of course; I don't think another boxer was necessary (and it does foreshadow another boxer, as her eventual opponent); the penguin costume doesn't seem as charming as the other animals (but we're all forced to buy it anyways, lest we pay $40 later like that terrible Bumblebee girl); and the Banana guy seems off. He's very commercialized looking, unlike the previous (and amazing) hot dog. It's also unfortunate that his color scheme doesn't match the colors used on the DC Banana Truck driver, but what can you do.
  17. We can wait and see when it's remotely close to 2017. Until we get evidence that's not hearsay, we don't need this thread spreading rumors itself.
  18. Hardly confirmed. We'll revisit this if and when we ever do go get sets for the movie; but not now.
  19. Our friend over on Flickr, Hoth Bricks, is uploading lots of nice hi-res images of the newest Star Wars sets, so we can finally get good close up looks at them. Now that we can better see some of the figures, I'm more impressed with those specifically in the A-Wing Set. Vader does have a nice Rebels style going on (with leg printing), and Tarkin looks great too. Sabine has a total redesign going on and looks amazing!
  20. Rather shocking to see the new awesome flame piece is less a piece and more a molded head in a sense. As such it has almost no reuse potential. Granted, it does understandably makes sense why it was hypocritically kragled to the head. Still, it's disappointing. That and if the printing is off center ever so slightly (like it is in those example pics) it'll drive me insane on account of not being able to readjust it.
  21. This is getting a bit too off-topic. We know there's bad blood between Marvel/Disney and Fox which unfortunately means no X-Men or FF. Let just leave it at that and discuss the sets we do get shall we? Thanks!
  22. I like to think that was Ashoka's white/neutral force ghost heading into the underworld. It could be a really tragic ending if she were stuck in some sort of force purgatory--she is no Jedi after all. But all that's beside the point unfortunately, since it seems like she won't be in Rebels again even if she survived. In regards to season 3, I hope we'll see a lot more of my fav, agent sideburns Kallus, since his story line has so much potential now. It would be great to see him going after Ghost & Friends but starting to get conflicted during the battles and hesitate about using deadly force against them. All that and starting to question the Empire as a whole too (what with the whole Geonosis thing). Incidentally, in terms of the Empire itself, I hope those rumors a while back about a possible inclusion of Thrawn will pan out. The "Rebels" empire-version needs another strong imperial Tarkin-esque figure in the mix I think, now that Tarkin himself is not really present and it's likely Vader will have a smaller role too. Maul seems to be due for a large story arc (hopefully a deathly-finite one) though, considering he's apparently going to be the "big bad" for the season. Most likely he'll just show up to entice Ezra (or kidnap him! ) On Kanan's blindness, I don't think we should assume that it's not possible to give him robot-eyes ala La Forge or anything; chances are, it's very much possible within the SW universe, but we should consider that perhaps Kanan doesn't want replacement eyes. It may be something where he now feels more in-tune with the force as he deals with his new life challenges. Or perhaps being blind gets him more love from Hera? We can only hope! Finally, more Sabine. She seems to be the most undeveloped main character, but clearly she's got some mysteriously interesting linage and past going on that has loads of story potential.
  23. Guys, you all know this doesn't belong here; I shouldn't have to tell you that. Take the game discussion over to the Lego Marvel Avengers Video Game thread please.
  24. Very impressive, for sure one of the, if not the, best Phantoms around. Granted it's not hard to but Lego to shame with this ship. It's large too. It's hard to judge the true scale of the Phantom/Ghost since it seems different in every screenshot (and there's not many good ones). Regardless, a minifig scale Ghost would be great too.
