  1. Granted, a critic can't say that "literally every proportion is off" and that you are "bending the fabric of reality".
  2. It looks like he uesd the rubber attachments on the tracks
  3. I would like to argue on the side of @Bublehead, if you want something that looks spot on, then either look at the Scale Modelling Forum, or buy an Architecture or Creator set. Technic is all about functions. It was literally made so that builders could incorporate real life FUNCTIONS into a LEGO model. And LEGO models are made to resemble real life counterparts, not be a perfect scale model. Otherwise, go pick up a die cast model of whatever. So I would say Technic is about: 1. Functions 2. Looks 3. Authenticity
  4. I have to agree with @kolbjha, this has blown up probably way more than it needed to be. I feel that while @Sariel made a valid point, it was a little harsh. The point of LEGO is not to perfectly mimic a real life entity. It is to simply be a basis to create a model which resembles real life. But the biggest purpose of LEGO- the reason it is not a die-cast-model- is that you make your own creations that you are happy with. LEGO Technic is not about looks. If you want looks, go check out the Scale Modeling Forum or pick up a Creator or Architecture set. LEGO Technic is about play functions. And I feel that @gate has made a very functional, nice model. While it may not look like a Liebherr crane precisely, I feel that he has done a reasonable (actually quite impressive) 3 axle crane. The fact that he named it a Liebherr crane is his decision. Perhaps what I'm trying to say is that @gate's priority may not have been how the mobile crane looks. If his focus was on the functions, so be it. LEGO was not meant to be a perfect representation of real life, so I don't see why people expect it to be.
  5. That is a real beauty! Reminds me of an upgraded 8069... and (hopefully) what our flagship will be someday
  6. Looks like a nice set, but much smaller than the actual thing (to be fair, a minifig scale cloud city would be huge). But since the Slave I is there, I kind of hoped that the Millennium Falcon would be too. I know we just got the UCS 75192, but the Slave I is still available and they don't seem to mind featuring it here. And because the UCS Falcon would look out of scale here, I kind of wish a smaller Falcon was provided.
  7. Looks pretty good- creative use of parts! However, I think that the cab is just a little too long- or the angle of the front windscreen is too shallow. Otherwise, nice job!
  8. That is a beautiful MOC! Engine at the front reminds me of @Sariel's Tatra Kolos. Are those third party tires as well?
  9. Did anyone else notice the forest machine's set number on 42082's engine? (photo credits to zusammengebaut) Maybe it's subtle marketing in case the eye catching color scheme didn't convince you
  10. I've been following this topic for a while... glad to see the boom taking shape! Nice job
  11. On the other hand he might have just wanted to emphasize his point. Which should be okay.
  12. @Corrado, maybe your solution could work if you angled the tires, giving it a negative camber angle in the first place:
  13. That is a real beauty! It portrays the real life vehicle spot on!
  14. @Black_Belt_Titan, I was amazed at first when I saw how you organized the parts... now I see you jumbled them together first!!! You are a god...
  15. The 56x26 tire isn't much bigger than the 49.5x20, yet has less contact area (ballon shape)
  16. You mean the 49.5x20 ones? Those ones have a lot of grip, especially with heavy models, I would do what @Leonardo da Bricki said and use balloon tires, like the small and big balloon tires.
  17. Will it be similar to this? Also, do you plan to make it a c-model of the 42082? Either way, it looks like this could be an interesting MOC. Good luck! Regards, Magical Duck
  18. @Bartybum For an engine in the back? Nevertheless amazing moc, @Gingerdave! If only I picked up the rally car...
  19. Sure beats that hole located smack in the middle of the hood on the A model.
  20. Very true- if you look at my post on page 1 you will see many sets are just rescaled versions of past sets. Hopefully 2H brings something innovative. Although I wouldn't say no to another Claas vehicle
  21. This is a spectacular model . The whole thing flows beautifully! Did you use a sticker for the grille, or did you use some other technique?
