  1. Well that concerns me most about this video was moving forward all train wheels would be made from the new plastic, the stuff from plants. While I am all for the environment, on a train set the wheels are what take the most abuse. Really want a material that will hold up! Would be more excited if the train body what plant plastic and the wheels the older proven stuff.
  2. Broke down and getting my first PF 2.0 train set. Purchased more for the PF 2.0 stuff then the actual train. Was hoping there were some good modified sets out there I could use for inspiration. If anyone has any links would appreciate. After I build (Christmas present from wife) thinking of swapping out all the yellow bricks, going more dark blue and gray. This will force a complete rebuild of the front of the engine. Think i will add another passenger car also. Going to keep a more modern build with this one I think.
  3. We got Dorthy, Lion, Scare Crow and Tin Man from the last collectors set...loved them. Just not into the Lego movie stuff. Agree Minifigs are the best!
  4. Best Theme: Creator expert....most interesting builds Best Minifigure/Figure: Flintstones Series 19 mini figs, dog walker the best with Lego brick dog poop. Best Set: Harry Potter train, with two sets you can make a very nice train Worst Theme: Hidden Side....just don't get it. Shrimp Shake a great set. Worse theme is Brick Heads....just don't get it. Worst Minifigure/Figure: all the Lego movie stuff Series 19 Care Bear fig, its not horrible just not my tastes Worst Set: Benny's house Most Anticipated for 2020: Hoping for a new creator expert Amusement park ride as the Carousel is retiring.
  5. New Christmas displays are being posted!!!! I love it! That looks like a fun display, very good job.
  6. Thinking a place to park you bike like the bus stop in this set would be nice addition to your beach train stop. Just a few simply parts, works very well. Train station looking good.
  7. Wow, I don't realize how small the town house section of this new modular is. Not going to lie that is kind of a disappointment. Already thought the PR was on the small side, its even smaller. I like how TLG has made the modulars with varying roof heights, just never thought they would go shorter then PR. Guess not going to display it between the GG and CC. Will have to wait and see once I build it what the best remedy is. This picture just really caught me by surprise. Like the build, just wish it was a bit taller.
  8. The first thing that come to my mind is wow you are very disciplined staying with one theme. My city has a bit of everything in it, congrats on saying true to your vision. Second thought is you need a larger table. Looks great. Third thought, I really don't have a lot of advice to offer. You really have done a nice job here. You could add a airplane hanging from your ceiling with banner trailing behind, something race themed. You might add a section for concessions and common space for the fans. Not sure if you want this level of detail, but TLG is offering traffic signals. Might add a nice touch with some custom support poles. Don't wait two years to post your next update. Really like what you have done here.
  9. How much of the original 10197 bricks are used in this build. Think you did a great job on this build, prefer this over TLG offering. 10197 is always low on my list for the modulars. With this moc that would change! You have inspired me to try something similar.
  10. Looks like I am in the boat as most. Like this offering better then the last two but could have been better. Going to take some time to get used to the blueish green building. Overall good with this set, prefer the bookshop exterior and townhouse interior. Big question, how to display these building with the existing ones? I am displaying 1/2 of the pet shop (townhouse section) next to my Green Grocer. Like the two bay windows together, kind of a residential area. The crazy blue of this townhouse is not going to match. Think I am going to have to put next to the PR. The Book Store will be much easier to place. Thinking either next to the pet shop or the Grand Emporium. Sure will get moved a bunch which is always fun. Just watched the video above, looks good next to the PR. The town house section does look a bit short, can see a lot of folks getting a second set and adding more floors.
  11. Quick thoughts. I like it. Could have been better but feel better then the last two offering. Gona take a bit to get used to the blueish green color. When I get, plan on adding a few more books for a true book store.
  12. I have the parts for 7151, have not built yet. Have the rear hatch with the set exclusive print. Thank you for you input.
  13. Like trains are 6 wide
  14. You have actual wood tiled sleepers! Wow. Looks great. Hey, what are the white 6 by 6 panels in the back of your moc for? They might just be foundation. Just curious.
  15. I got those some light blue flowers also on my pick a brick wall this summer. Had no idea what I was going to do with them, but picked some up as had not seen them before. Your moc looks great. You have motivated me to build a few blue trees!
  16. Hello. I purchased some bulk bricks locally, seller stated most of the bricks came from complete sets. Wish he had kept everything together! Been having fun figuring out what all is in my pile of bricks. Lucky some of the bricks are still together or sticker/prints on them to assist in defining them. This one item has me stumped. Hope someone can help. I have two sets of these built (look like they came off something, bricks are assembled the same). A grey lever with a small black base placed on top of a black mini fig head (hollow stud) which is placed on a small black engine numbered 3475 (none of the other parts have numbers scribed on them). I looked thru bricklink and got really excited when I saw what sets some of these parts were included in! Unfortunately none of the sets have all three of these parts. So far in my haul have found the bricks for: early star wars sets, a pirate ship, some rock raiders, aqua stuff, Ninja castle, Viking fort, pharaoh ruins, Alien Conquest, Interstellar star fighter (less the motor to rotate the lights) and still have a healthy pile of bricks. No mini figures thou (they sold before I could get them). My gut feeling is this bricks had to come off a spaceship and the levers are laser guns or something. Anyways, I know 3 parts are not a lot of detail to ID something. Thought I would inquire encase anyone recalls seeing something similar in a set they built.
  17. The same thing happened to me! I placed these parts somewhere else while building as they came in a separate bag. I was lucky enough to find them, hope you were able to also.
  18. Bricklink was offering this exclusive. Agree TLG should do something similar as a offical set.
  19. See the Creator Expert Carousel 10257 is retiring soon. With TLG offering Fun Fair Set 60234 feeling optimistic another carnival ride will be released, to go along with the roller coaster. Has anyone heard any news regarding this? TLG has done a good job offering most of the standard rides already, the mixer, Ferris wheel, carousel and the roller coaster. My guess is something like this: Swings
  20. When you build this be sure to post some pictures. Would like to see it in actual bricks!
  21. I like how you have two coaches, TLG usually only offers one in their sets. Congrats on 1000 supporters. Sure you will have 10,000 soon.
  22. Just a follow up. I was able to pick up this set at a Lego Store this Spring in Disneyland. Then this Summer they offered in at my local Lego store. I have mixed feeling as I am glad I was able to get it, but kinda disappointed that to go thru so many hoops. As far as modifying the set, I increased the depth and sales floor. Like it much better. For me Lego is a fun hobby. When its not fun I go do something else for a bit.
  23. I like this better then "The Corner Garage. Very nice.
  24. Jang's video production has taken a serious downturn, not making as many videos. Also hardly anything on his custom city. Hope he get back to his previous form.
  25. Apologizes for the delay in responding. From what you stated above suggest you don't power them that this time. You can build a nice steam engine, tender, and a few cars that will display nicely on a few straight tracks on a shelf. If you shelf has enough depth can add some background scenery to really make a nice display. I have never thought about doing a war train, but could be fun. Advance warefare....this is what I would do. You need a modern diesel engine. First carriage would be a flat bed transporting a modern tank. Second carriage, a modified gondola. Would have some sorta Laser Gun and/or rocket with a control center. Third carriage would be for troop transport, converted passenger car with bunks, toilet, and a small eating area. Fourth carriage would also be a converted passenger car this time as a mobile command center. Lot of radar dishes, antennas, and computers. If budget permits, a Fifth carriage, flat bed again, ether transporting a helicopter or hummers or other smaller land vehicle. For a background, would either build some bricks as mountain side, stream (with a bridge for the train track) or would place in a train yard with buildings (just the front facade) and other stuff you might see at a military base. Lots of cool directions this moc can go. Not sure your Harry Potter set is going to offer the best pieces as everything is so red. Thinking you will want grays and black bricks being military. Post some pictures if you build this, would like to see it.
