  1. Bricklink USA sellers, $8 used $10 new. On Amazon USA can get Straight and Tee new for $10. Problem is TLG baseplates take up a ton on space. 20 stud wide would be ideal but by the time I get all the bricks that $10 TLG baseplate will look like a steal!
  2. Yes a swing ride was the rumor I heard. Would be difficult for a swing ride to come close to the Carousel and the Ferris Wheel. Those were two very well done sets!
  3. That is what I was looking for. Thought you could cover a lot with tiles. I am looking at how much space the standard TLG roadplate take up and see why AFOL cut the plates or or build their own roads.
  4. Looking at adding some roads into my Lego City layout. See the only way to get straight sections is to also get a T junction. Scaled my design back a bit, revised design requires 10 straights and 4 T junctions. Hate buying 6 T junctions I don't need. Is there a way to convert a T junction into a straight or something close to a straight? Feel I am not alone with this problem.
  5. I visited my local Lego store and they do not carry the Power Up Color sensor 88007. The clerk said I have to order on line at S@H. That was disappointing. They had motor and battery boxes thou.
  6. What a great idea! We need to adjust slightly so when you push one of the levers one control goes up, the other down since the motors will be installed 180 deg off each other (both motors will be installed in one cable, wiring will be back to back.
  7. No skills needed. Just get some bricks and build whatever you want.
  8. Great, next time I'm at the Lego store will have to pick one up
  9. Wish they would offer stuff like this again. I got both these sets used and love them.
  10. If you had the space (its on a 48 by 48 baseplate) this is a awesome moc.
  11. Ok, looks like I have some reading to do. Have a few questions if you don't mind. 1) Appears the color sensor has a blue light with it. Is this light on all the time....i.e it lit the tracks up blue in your video. 2) In reading about the the color sensor appears you can control what a train would do after reading a certain color. The program list actions to do after seeing a given color, but couldn't see where you could adjust what colors do what exactly. Program has if it sees a red brick stop. Would the program allow you to change seeing a red brick to say speed up, or are you stuck with red bricks are just for stop? I'm trying to figure out how to make this look pretty on my layout. I keep things on the darker side for layou, a blue light under my 60197 might look a bit odd.
  12. So after watching this video, many question are now in my head. I assume there are some threads that explain the PUP APP and what extra stuff you need on the train to keep them from crashing. Can someone point me the right direction for these treads. Also if the video is possible assuming there is some sort of reader or prox switch that could be placed at a train station to make a train pause like it was making a scheduled stop and then proceed. Are there any treads on this? Thank you for sharing.
  13. If you don't like the looks of the current fire station, suggest you moc something yourself. A fire station moc would be a excellent project. Red bricks very common. Fire Fighter mini figs common also. Just don't forget to include a very small and totally out of scale helicopter for your moc. No true Lego inspired fire station would be complete without a heli. This looks like a really nice moc. I would be proud to have this in my Lego City.
  14. Do you think TLG will come out with a plug extension, basically allowing two devices (motors, lights, whatever) into a single plug. Basically a extension cable with multiple plugs on one end. Suppose it wouldn't be to difficult to DIY one from two extension cables. Regarding the app from Dr Spock, that would work. Only issue is if you have multiple dual motored trains, app only allows one battery box to be controlled at a time. One would need multiple smart phones. That us why I like the physically controllers over my smart phone.
  15. There's just not enough revenue in these releases for TLG to consider it. Some parts are not still in production, interest lower then new sets, just does not make financial sense. I know you think Hey they already paid the design costs, costs for the molds, and art work for the box. Just does not work out that way.
  16. Like the Dragon Dancers better! If you can get both sets go for it.
  17. A new mono rail would be interesting. PF 2.0? I'm not sure this will be a strong seller for TLG. Would think a more kid friendly theme would be more financially rewarding.
  18. I have a mix of PF 1 and now PF 2. I like the idea of PF 2, no receiver. I am not around a lot of blue tooth devices so that helps for sure.
  19. That is a very interesting point. It has to cost TLG more to design a Modular then say a City themed police station. It had to be several times as many hours to design the Book Shop vs the new fire station. Wonder how this extra design expense is added to the overall cost of a set? One more comparison. It has to have taken longer for the TLG designer to create the Tree House vs the modular The Corner Garage. Are the design costs for TLG so small due to the overall volume of sales we just don't even notice it?
  20. Did a quick search and nothing came up. Sure someone has already asked this question. Purchased a second new passenger train set 60197. Needed some more track and wanted a longer train. I was going to try using dual motors for the train, but there was no where to hook up a second motor. Original Power Functions let you stack plugs so running dual motors was not to difficult. What is the trick for running dual motors with Power Functions 2.0? Do you run one motor from each port of the battery box? That would allow you to control both motors from the same controller.... just have to remember to adjust both motors simultaneously.
  21. So for for 2020, have not been seeing the discounts on City and Starwars themed sets as in previous years. The 2019 released stuff is up to 20% of MSRP. Hopefully will start seeing some discounts on the 2020 releases.
  22. See you have a new set, the big stickers at the front of the engine no longer block out the yellow under neigh. White and the Lt gray on the sticker are just not what I would expect from TLG. Surprised more AFOL aren't taking up arms against this. Your layout looks like fun. Might want to slow things down a bit thou....especially in the corners.
  23. Would be proud to have that moc in my city. Great job.
  24. still ahead getting the sets out of country paying for shipping and import taxes (not sure if you have these) vs purchasing them locally (in US Lego and Amazon will ship most big orders at no additional costs)
  25. What do you think about keeping it as a hand, installed above a shop door. What kind of stuff would a store sell that has a Rancor's hand installed above their door?
