  1. On thing you can count on is price increases. Usually TLG makes their latest offerings worth it!
  2. Looking good.
  3. 75243 20th Anniversary Slave, full price. Did get the two free promo's: Hoth 20th mini build and the rocket ride with kid. This set just has not been discounted as others, can see why great build. Nice addition to our collection.
  4. Just got a used Jabba's Palace set. Love it, very high on my favorite Star Wars set list.
  5. Great advise. Would like to display Luke and Solo having a beer after a long day. Got to get Chewy in their too.
  6. Cause I have a short attention span....well that what my wife says. Sorry I missed the Star Wars section. I love it over there! That is a good battle pack, thanks
  7. Thank you for you response. I have never seen 75173 in person so I can only go off what I see on the internet. The new Speeder does look better, rounded tiles. It does seam priced on the high side, but so is almost all Lego so I try not to get too hung up on that. Question, why is this set in your parts bin? Looks like a really nice display. What is lacking I cannot see from the pictures? Is the Cantina too small?
  8. Hello, looking for some help. I am new into collecting Star Wars theme Lego. Currently I have the newest Xwing and Tie Figher, love them both. Wanting to add to my collection, trying to stay with the classic 3 films (New Hope, Strikes Back, Return of Jedi). I have purchased the Vader transformation set, wanted a Vader figure. Would like to get some Storm Troopers, but appear TLG has made several versions of these guys. Would like mine to match or at least be close. What battle packs should I look for. Do you recommend getting a couple of the 75207 Imperial battle packs and 75197 First order specialist or just getting 4 of one set (wanting around 8 Storm Troopers). Do not care for the Clone Wars Trooper of set 75206 (although would like some Jedi's). Wish the were offering a battle pack with more Storm Troopers and less commanders and other officers. What are you all getting, looking for some advice before I get a bunch of stuff I don't like. I am planning on getting the new escape the death star set (1 trooper in that one), Yodas hut (no troopers), Hoth med center (no troopers). The discontinued Cantina set 75052 is really catching my eye. Probable going to get that one too (wish I got it when TLG was still making it, reseller markups are not my favorite).
  9. Need some advice. Looks like they are discontinuing the land speeder set 75173. Can get for $25 US. Wanted a speeder, OB1, Sandman and C3PO. Luke good too. Before I purchase, see they offered a set 75052. This one looks pretty cool. Like the extra mini figs, both Luke and OBI have light sabers, not crazy about the giant lizard. Can get this for $135. Is 75052 worth the extra $100 or is their something else similar I should consider.
  10. I just bought my first two Star Wars sets, xWing 75218 $65 Tie Fighter 75211 $50 Thought these were two were a good place to start!
  11. Looking at getting the new Idea's Flintstone set. This is the first set I plan on getting since the TARDIS set. Was not into Lego when it was released, reseller prices are close to MSRP (good for me, not so good for future Doctor Who sets). Know they released a few figure packs for the Dimensions game, guess no other releases is a bad sign. Just curious how popular the Tardis set was? Low reseller pricing to me means not a large demand or everyone bought the set when originally released. Would think demand for Doctor Who would exceed that for the Flintstones. Concerned the Flintsone set will not be a good seller for TLG. From the comments on the Flintstone threads, most are negative referencing items not included from the original designer design. When the Tardis set was released were similar negative comments made? If so, what where the points AFOL were disappointed with.
  12. For me, I remember watching the Flintstones as a kid, but not a huge fan. That said, this is the first Idea's set I will get since the Doctor Who set (both $60). I think the fishing shack (just retired) will out sell both of these together. Hope this will be a good sell so they offer more Ideas sets. A few more characters issued would probable help sales too (Dino, Bam Bam, and Pebbels).
  13. I still like the sets, favor the bad guy ships, the mini figs not so much. Hear TLG is coming out with a revised Mars Mission theme, based on actual ships not fantasy. Interesting in seeing these new sets.
  14. You my sir are a genius! That looks awesome!
  15. The Corner Deli is a great starting platform for creating a modular building. Think you might like these links. and this one The small brick city guy does some really highly detailed work.
  16. Its funny, when we started our Christmas Lego display, I planned on rebuilding every year too. Have the kids around, everyone building sets together, eating popcorn....having a great family bonding yearly tradition. Problem is around the Holidays its more chaotic then usual in our house hold and I am lucky to get TLG newest release build before Christmas. Jealous of your yearly rebuilds....mirrored too...how do you have the time?
  17. I just held both sets in my hands again to visually compare. While they were designed for different builders, Speed Champions still appears to be a much better value. IMO TLG would need to add a second mini fig with a accessory (flag, tool box, something) with the Desert Racer and keep at the $10 price to come anywhere close to what you get with the $15 Speed Champions sets. Final thoughts, as per where this tread started, vitric is ….I am not mad for overpaying for my Racer. Glad it was offered so I could purchase. Not one of their best sets, but kids have a lot of fun sending this little guy down the stairs and it holds up most of the time. Giving this build a thumbs up!
  18. Fun at the beach set came yesterday. Two kayaks look good next to each other. Kept the paddles with the sets (red paddles with yellow kayak). Thought it looked better that way. If anyone has not purchased this set, I highly recommend it. Fear it will be discontinued soon. Highlights of the set are: the kayak, wind surfer, girl in the green bathing suit, life guard and the dolphin.
  19. I was unaware TLG ever made such a thing. Its is getting to the point when I get random Lego that I have to look for the logo as over the years they have offered so many products. Our beach display is going well. Have a small beach surrounded by buildings. Campground is right behind beach. We didn't have enough plates of the correct color, but as a work in progress not going to purchase correct colors till plans a bit more firm. Will post a work in progress picture soon.
  20. As fast as these sets are selling in my area, wouldn't be surprised if we got a second wave in 2019.
  21. How did you do the stone path and the steps? That's not Lego is it? Great job on the deck you put under the house. Like the outdoor stove. Are you planning on getting the small house boat this year to go with this scene? Like your green jeeps.
  22. Been a few days. Kids off playing with something new. These figs are off to keep our Chima set company under the Lego Table, in a plastic bin, all the way in the back never to see the light of day again...…. Just kidding, have these guys placed all around our city layout. Pink astronaut is at the beach, Yellow is flying a helicopter, White is riding a train and Blue is currently swimming away from a couple of hungry sharks.
  23. See you are displaying the main build from the side (building on the far right). You have it out a little bit so can see the side also. Where is the beach???
  24. Very disappointing. Hope this is a fake story.
  25. This week was able to secure getting two older creator sets, the Beach House (4996) and Seaside House (7346). Was not planning on having a beach display in our city layout, now with these sets going to go for it! Ordered the fun at the beach mini fig pack to populate our display (these sets were light on mini figs). We also have the older marina and the beach hut sets too. Prefer the main builds on both house sets. So my question is, which side of 7996 is supposed to have the beach? Thinking the side with grill and table. If this is true, would match up with 7346 water area. Only draw back here is IMO the beach house looks best displayed from the front, like main picture on the box where you can see the A frame contruction. Anyone have any pictures on how they are displaying these sets? One more note, really liked the 3rd build in the Seaside House, the one with the bridge and drink bar. Going to moc something like this in our display. The Marina already has the bridge so may use part of that for my moc.
