  1. Finally built the Obliterator. Good build, like it a lot. Recommend if you are interested in the theme.
  2. So I just watched Jangbricks review of this set on youtube. Have to agree with him, this set is priced a bit high. Even thought looks good piece count wise, actual quote "Volume of Stuff" appears bit lacking. I'm ok with TLG locking in on the $100 (US) target for the sets, just feel they need to put a little more in the box to make it worth the price tag. Anyone share this thought? Suggest you dump the fire engine and rebrand the building. Lot of potential here for a town hall, store, even apartments. I am planning on increasing the depth on mine to add a bit more detail.
  3. When I purchase, will mostly likely add some depth to the building. Will move the kitchen to the first floor (park the fire truck outside) and make the 2nd floor living quarters with bunkbeds. Thinking with a little creativity this set could be one of the best of the series. Christmas tree needs a little bit of rework. Love the theme, glad we got a new build, can't say a Firestation was first on my wish list for this year build (wasn't even on my list).
  4. Meant quart sized bag of old Lego bricks, only 1/2 filled. Set was $25 sealed free shipping. So you wouldn't feel the slightest bit cheated if you opened your Lego purchase (in front of your kids) and a 1/2 quart sized bag of old crappy Lego fell out? Come on, you would be pissed too!
  5. I recently purchased a sealed 70701 Lego set from Ebay. Package came on time and well packed. When I opened, seller had put a bunch of random bricks in 70701 box. I filed a return with Ebay that day and within a few hours got a refund. Someone couldn't have accidently put a bunch of crap in a box and not the set I ordered. This is clearly a scam! Anyways, my kids were really upset. They wanted the set. I contacted Ebay and they basically said the issue was closed and they were not going to look into blocking the seller or any real consequence for him (his name was one the shipping label). Just don't feel this is right. Am I wrong? Is this this a common thing on Ebay? Do the sellers just hope the buyers won't complain about getting totally ripped off? Also, what should I do with the 1/2 a gal bag of lose bricks I did get? Kind of feel like just throwing them away as assume they are of low value and tainted in my eyes? Too strong of a reaction?
  6. So I have built the Star Slicer and Hive Crawler. Have to say the Humans are way out gunned here. Need to add the Obliterator to even things out. Found a deal on the Med sized blue spaceship so going to be adding that to the fleet. Hopefully things will be a bit more even. Regarding the Crawler, that was a good build. Really enjoyed it, not used to so many technic pieces.
  7. This is really nice. Like to be able to see all the sets from the themes. You should go thru current themes.
  8. Sure you will win with this entry.
  9. I like it!
  10. Yes the kids want to build that one first. Have to wait a few weeks till they can open it up. Think I will have more trouble waiting then them. I'm curious if I will like the red or the orange accents best? Right now I favor the blue best but the red also looks good. Orange is ok, but already have a fair bit of orange space items from the Mars Mission theme.
  11. Does anyone know what the black ring around the snowman is for? Is it like a valve or something they put snow on?
  12. That article was dated July 2017. Pretty sure LEPIN clone sets are still available.
  13. I just received the sets today (sealed with boxes). The Hive Crawler box has a picture of the alien coming right out of the box. How cool. Can't wait to build them
  14. Just trying to help the cause to get a new unlicensed space theme.
  15. Just saw the knock offs are offering the Mars Mission set 7699 the armored drilling unit. Not that its ok for them to rip of the creator or city lines...…… but this is SPACE! Come on, is nothing sacred? Hope it doesn't sell well so they don't clone the rest of the line. Feel this is partially TLG fault, if they were making current space themes, the knockoffs would be cloning those not the classic themes. Yes another reason TLG needs to release a non themed space set immediately. They need to protect the integrity of there classic sets...……….well it was worth a try, doubt TLG see's thing this way.
  16. So I have one of those questions only a true AFOL into space sets can answer (and probable is a bit subjective). I have been into Lego for about 2 years now (had very few sets as a kid, getting into now as have children of my own). This summer I purchased a used the star slicer (praying mantis set) and loved it, hated it, loved it again. Really like the human vehicle (even thou small) and the bug.....well that is day to day. Was watching some of JangBricks videos on the series and the Bug Obliterator looked exactly like what I was looking for. A spaceship, ground vehicle, little bug, what more could you ask for. Really. Would have loved this as a kid. Found a deal where this set was combined with the Hive Crawler (the queen bug that legs move). Went ahead and pulled the trigger. While a hope to someday get most of the sets, feeling like I maybe should have started with the Titan (big blue spaceship and tank looking thing) or the Verminator (green ground vehicle with the mech). Both have favorable reviews from AFOL. When I watched Jang's vidoes, the Titan looked like a soft shell turtle, set all flattened out and kind of boring. The Verminator….really only the mech looked good and when compared the big mech set, think the big mech is superior. Anyway, would like to hear some other AFOL thoughts. Most likely will getting the following sets some day: Space Swarmer (little bug set), Swam Interceptor (med size blue ship), Eradicator Mech, and maybe the Verminator. Really think I have enough big bugs so passing on the Wasp Stinger. If I purchase the Titan, it would only be because its blue and like the mini figs this color. Other problem is TLG is not offering any new space sets other than Star Wars currently. Do have some Mars Mission sets, they are good....like the consistent color theme even thou it is white and orange (wish blue was swapped for orange). Would appreciate your thoughts.
  17. I believe the sets in question were the small Christmas tree and train. They were both available (USA) in the Lego Store and S@H. $10 each.
  18. Man, there have been some great suggestion on improvements for the series. I like most are completely starved for non SW space sets. I have resisted the temptation to purchase any SW sets as I'm already collecting to many themes. I'm only 2 years back into Lego, so their are a ton of space sets out there (discontinued) I am dream over, purchasing slowly. First I got 6 Mars Mission sets, now I have 3 GS sets and planning on getting more. Here are a few of my thoughts for what its worth 1) Yes, the humans need a more consistent color scheme. I favor blue like others, but could back any of the colors of the series. 2) Bug factory....YES! That would have been awesome. 3) Bug large builds, yes they need to be more ship like and playable. 4) Why doesn't TLG through out a set every couple of years on an old series? Say they released GS set this year, and a Mars Mission next. Think they would sell and bring some interest to older themes. If a set sold particularly well, maybe they could reboot the series. I mean really, if Walmart has a cool spaceship set sitting on the shelf next to a bunch if city sets (don't put next to SW), think kids would want it. Also SW stuff is pretty much build and done.....cannot really modify theses sets as so specialized. A generic space ship could be rebuilt numerous ways. 5) GS sets, the big ones, should have had official 3 in 1 builds. Sets should have included parts and instruction on building different vehicles and bugs. This would prompt the creative juices in builders and generated a lot of interesting mocs. I fear the SW series is just to powerful to overcome at this point (The Empire). Fear like others we are in for a long drought for a new original space themed series. So thankful for the reseller market (can't believe I just typed that).
  19. Good grief, how long is TLG going to make us wait this year for news and pictures? Are they really that afraid of knock offs?
  20. Nice airport, like the size. Hard to find the space to house the large planes
  21. Looks good, need a flashing arrow next.
  22. Ya, me too. If they don't release some images soon I'm going to...……...well not much I can do but come on already!!! Can the knockoff companies really copy their stuff that quickly? I agree with the other posts, the last two years the train and station sets, while nice, have been a bit lacking for the theme. Hoping series goes back to its roots.
  23. Yes, you need a 9V DC wall transformer. Just remove the connector and replace with a Lego one. As far as a switch, you can get several different types, recommend one like in a lamp cord, few dollars at a home improvement store.
  24. In USA. Seams like should be able to bricklink for less then what the used sets are going for.
  25. Anyone know how much it is to brick link the WV cottage set? Can you get it for under $200?
