If you don't already have 40335 (rocket ride) thinking this might be a good set to incorporate into a vignette. Sorry, didn't see how old this thread was. Please disregard.

I like the unicorn lamps!

Ok, this might seam like a dumb response but why couldn't you just tile your first floor to solve this problem. Place gray tiles where you want vehicular traffic and colored tiles where you don't. If the wall height becomes and issue with this modification, you could install regular plates under the walls to keep spacing unchanged.

I'm glad you like it, I unfortunately do not share your opinion. If in the future you do purchase 2 sets, suggest you consider leaving the back open, relocating the chimneys (you will have two now) to the side of the house (one each side) and expand on the very nice roof line of the set. This moc would add at least two new rooms, suggest moving the bathroom to one (and expanding the existing bedroom) and for the ground floor.....move the kitchen and expand to one of the rooms and expand the existing living room. Maybe in the new kitchen have them making a mini gingerbread house. A lot of the sets coming out recently have mini builds of structures (new Disney trains set has a mini train in the station, mini Lego city in the Assembly Square, etc.). Glad you like the set. Looks like for AFOLs more like it then don't so should be a success for TLG. Hope you enjoy it for many Holiday seasons to come.

SD100, thank you for sharing your build. I purchased two of these sets. One has been powered with a motor under the tender. It works ok, need to add some weight to the engine. Planning on powering the second engine with the motor in the engine as you have done. Will post which option works best in my layout.

That is the first thing I thought of too. Your railroad track is going to eat up a lot space. Modulars plus road and trains need a lot of room. Could you move your desk to the right away from the wall. Basically making the desk section on the left a little deeper. Another 6" to 10" would really go a long way to adding a railroad and

Q&A: What is your favorite LEGO Vehicle?
LegoDW replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Town
For us it 60060, car transport. Its not the prettiest set TLG has ever made but get the most play time from my kids. We have added a few more 4 stud wide cars to increase play ability.- 31 replies

Very creative, good job. My favorite is the pumpkin car. Very colorful. Sure if I saw the spinning lighting in action might change my mind.

So I am totally confused by TLG here. First they offer a Toy Shop with a huge Christmas tree for a holiday set. Then they follow this up with a Post Office so you can create your own little Winter Village. This is followed up by a Bakery, Cottage and a Market. All the main builds are nice, each included one or two nice side builds. Really moving forward to make....a nice winter village. Then they offer Santa's workshop. Ok, little out there but still Wintery ( I made this word up...its my moc). Then they re-release the Toy Shop, ok whether this was a last minimum thing or planned it is still sticking with the theme. Then they offer a Train and a Station. On track for expanding on....a Winter Village. Last year we get a Fire Station, ok most villages have a Fire Station. To this point TLG doing pretty good staying on the Winter Village theme here. This years Ginger Bread house, whether you like it or not (I think it looks like a perfectly fine set) is not...I repeat not part of a Winter Village. Have no idea what TLG was thinking here. If they wanted to offer a Ginger Bread house, no problem, this could have easily been released outside the Winter Village theme. With so many more building we need to complete our Winter Villages cannot say it enough how really disappoint in the direction TLG chose this year. How are we to expand the Ginger Bread theme? Are they going to offer Ginger Bread battle packs? Not to be too negative here, really just disappointed and confused by TLG decision here. Just to repeat, the set looks fine. I would be happy to own this set, just not as part of the Winter Village theme. I was fearing this outcome this summer and purchased the Carousel set as told its going out of production soon. Will moc it into a more wintery scene. My kids will love it and all with will good with the world. Hopefully next year TLG get back to their roots on their next offering.

Was checking out the Lego Ideas page and started wondering....how many of these sets (once approved) do they actually produce. Knowing needing 10,000 votes to get approved...figure 20% will actually purchase the set, that 2000 units. Once released figure the sales are limited to AFOL mostly....so maybe 25,000 ish. That puts sales at around 25,000 to 30,000 sets produced. Feeling this number is too low, This is the stuff that keeps me up at night. Additional: So popular cheaper sets, like the ship in the bottle....maybe 100,000 sets sold. Same for the Fishing Shack. Not as popular sets, maybe 25,000 more in line.

I want to see what you come up with.....please post in the future.

No sorry. I am unaware of any new carousel sets. I meant for this year we are going to use the current Creator Carousel as our new holiday set for this year. It will be new to us as we just purchased it.

Thats good packing. What are you going to do with 150 large windows?

My store had Trans-Clear Panel 1 x 6 x 5, got 16. Probable should have gotten more. The Legoland had 1 by 4 black tiles. Got a big cup full, came back next day and cleaned out. Missed out on that one!

Only been back into Lego a couple of years and just recently Star Wars. Would like to build up a storm trooper army but most of the sets and battle packs just come with oversized stud shooter guns vs the older blasts pistols. I know TLG is still making the pistols as I got one in this set. Checked and TLG does not offer the pistols in their bricks and pieces. Kinda hard to get a battle pack and then source pistols from bricklink when knockoffs are available from China for less then $1. Obviously TLG stopped offering the pistols as demand was not their but unclear why they dropped from the bricks and pieces. Would think demand for pistols would be high with older kids and AFOLs?

Had a chance to see this set today at the Lego Store. Looks pretty good but I am not planning on purchasing. I'm not a huge Disney fan and train will look out of place with my 6 wide stuff. That said, I'm glad they offered this set and sure a lot of AFL will love it!

I kinda liked some of the bugs in Galaxy Squad.

[MOC] 1st MOC in 25 years - Train tunnel (corner build)
LegoDW replied to HereWeGoAgain's topic in LEGO Town
Looking good. Everything looks great. Will give you a few things to think over, but really they are not needed. 1) Agree the tree is a little large. I'm ok with it thou. Maybe it needs a tree house in it? 2) You have room for more height on top of the tunnel. Suggest making your cottage two stories or something big up there. Maybe a windmill or radio tower? My favorite parts are the two small bridges over the water. That is were I would want to hang out and do some fishing! There currently is a cheap Kayak set available that might look nice in that river? -
Ok have a comment. Was looking at Lego Shop at Home and the Creator Expert Carousel is on back order. They had one at my local Lego Store so I purchased it. The store employee said this set was soon going out of production. So for this years Christmas display addition, looks like we are going to have a large Carousel. Will have to add a few white plates for snow. Hopefully the kids will like it. Maybe Santa and his elves will be riders?

Need help identifying this part, 10 by 10 by 2 2/3 transgreen
LegoDW replied to LegoDW's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thank you for looking into this for me. Now I will have to see if I have the rest of the insect in my parts. Not sure what I will do with it thou, maybe will add it to my Bug enemies of Galaxy Squad? Thanks again. -
I'm going to hold any additional comments regarding the Gingerbread house till pictures are released. I'm leaning toward not interested, hopefully it will be a great build and change my mind.

Hello. Picked up some used loose Lego (50 lbs) and found these two transgreen panels in the lot. The studs don't have the Lego stamp, but on two of the hollow studs the Lego logo is there. Anyone familiar which set this comes from? Do not believe It is 6975 as the panels in this set are the lime transgreen with no printing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't believe this years offering will be a Ginger Bread house. This would be stepping too far outside the previous sets. Feel will be a building in a typical village. Guessing: Police station, hotel, grocery store, or candy store. Wishing for a ski lodge or ice skating rink, doubtful on ether these two. Wouldn't be surprised if TLG offered as a Ginger Bread house set, just not part of the winter village theme.
