  1. I agree, I was in fact thinking of a case where player A specifically orders this ship from player B.
  2. What if we say that player A caught a prize and sends it to player B's shipyards to be refitted, so that in fact player B depicts the ship as it will be licensed.
  3. Oh no, do not take me for that kind of man. Captain Morgan's motives go much deeper. I have great plans how to develop my character this year!
  4. It is always a pleasure to witness the effort you put into your own legacy I am curious how future historicans will validate commodore Maxim's role in this era @Bregir actually the Royal Fortune was the name of several ships used by Bartholomew Roberts. As much a merchant as myself
  5. That gave me a good laugh, calling the bishop an honourable man. Pirates have their own sort of honour you must know. And it is something only pirates can appeal to. Great new chapter to your story! Good to see you managed to post it.
  6. @Bregir , I suggest naming her Royal Fortune for no special reason. It just came to my mind when looking at her. But I must admit I am not sure we haven't had that name before.
  7. Although I hope you know that I would never post a build that not accomplishes my own quality standards, I understand and accept that a cetain number of court members have to examine the case and that this takes a certain time. I thank you nonetheless for the quick answer.
  8. Just one question: I still have the permission to upgrade my flagship by mocing a fitting scene. If I make a proper speedbuild and post it within the next two hours, would the court be able to make its decision before the deadline for the mrca?
  9. The trophy gets my vote, it's just lovely and desirable! Hm, I like the colour scheme of the tuna king, and of course the fact that it hoists the rights colours. But the Piercing Flame features such a wonderful brick built hull. I suppose it's the reason there wasn't enough time left to finish the masts? So, I think I'll give my vote to the Tuna King. Of course I haven't overseen the Tribute, it's absolutely perfect; but it is just too similar to other ships that have been done before, and for contests, I usually go for things that are more unique. And please, give us more pictures of the Batavia, Captain!
  10. Price C arrived today, now there's something strange in the neighbourhood. Thank you very very much CopMike! I really enjoyed the surprise.
  11. Why not directly founding a settlement called Tax Haven?
  12. @Scarilian The hull of the Silent Mary is taken from a Ship of the line from around 1700, looking at the long and flat beakhead, the forecastle and the rigging. For the size you should just look for points of orientation. You want minifig scale doors to the fore and aft castle for example. That means these areas have to raise at least five bricks from the main deck. For the width of the main deck consider what size your cannons shall have. If you want to use the Lego cannon, the gun carriage + knob that makes 5 studs per side, so a total of 10, the cargo hold should be at least 6 studs wide, and at least 2 studs space between cannon and cargohold so it doesn't look stupid. That makes a deck width of 18, + 2 studs for the bulwark, so 20 studs. And of course the hull has a vault, approx. 2 studs on each side. That would make a total width of 24 studs. And that still is not accurate minifig scale, just a rough consideration. Now for a vessel of this era we can consider a width to length ratio of 1:4 (stern to top of the bowsprit) so you would go with a total length of ca. 96 studs, or 76,8 cm (if you're American, ~30,24"). I hope you know how ambitious such a project is. Building a brick built hull of this size alone is an art. Please don't underestimate the effort and resources necessary, otherwise this could lead to frustration. But if you mean to go for the ghost ship appearance that would probably be way easier.
  13. Thank you very much! Let me know if I made any mistake in the licence forms that led to the quarrel.
  14. 40 cannons on the original Amsterdam do no seem so peaceful. But I will be satisfied with around 20 guns. I think an india (terra-) man makes a valuable pirateship. Fast, well armed and storage room for the loot. And of course a pirate would place additional cannons on such a vessel. I usually don't make (public) wip, but perhaps it will be featured in a different moc, still under construction.
  15. @Legostone I remember a few people who had a series of unfortunate events in the mrca; but it's not more than temporary bad luck and will go over. Even if it's strange that the reason of your losses was mutiny in so many cases. But I know that's not your point. I would wish that there was more room for players to influence the fate of a vessel via mrca outcome mocs. When I lost a vessel to unknown it was hinted that the enemy had been Mardier, so I took that for the outcome. Now it would be fun to see that ship as part of the Mardieran war efforts. Or if it was really a mutiny, may there could be a choice for the owner what fate of the vessel to depict, to have clear information.
  16. Most reasonable would be that all those mutineers are now pirates Mutiny is always a crime, so why would someone risk that if not for committing more crimes? I'm sorry for your bad luck. Maybe you should raise your crews wages
  17. The Ark Royal seems a bit too bulky and slow for my pirate purposes. I will stay with 1650-1750 ships, since that is the piracy era that coined the common imagination of pirates. And for me it's what would fit the BoBS era the best. Not that I do not enjoy Napoleonic ship builds, but for me those are too advanced for early colonisation period. But since BoBS is a fantasy world it's not an anachronism for me, and the mix of those ship types worked well in the pirates of the caribbean franchise. About those roundels, I'd say they work better on an imperial warship. Perhaps an Olean or Mardieran ship of the line, similar to the Silent Mary. P.s.: my current wip is inspired by the east indiaman Amsterdam.
  18. The stated ship types are just suggestions. To determine the class it's more important which characteristics your vessels has. I have a galleon that is a class 5A. But there also galleons that are Trade ships. And although in the overview junks are a class of its own, you could build junks for any class and purpose. If you're going for an A class it's easy. Just make sure your vessels can carry the required amount of cannons. And for a class T I would say look at an armed ship of the same level and leave the cannons out. So e.g. a 4A ship has a minimum size to carry its 12 guns. And a 4T should then have the same size, but without that amount of cannons, since it needs the space for cargo.
  19. I'm sorry to bother you again, but my balance now says about 1295 db. That's the previous amount plus the income from the mrca. I'm still missing the 420 db that were incorrectly substracted for two class 4 licenses, which were intended to be prizes.
  20. I hope that will be the case in MRCA 2.0!
  21. I wrote earlier that I have seen an image of a sealed shark. It was a clear transparent bag with the jaw isolated from the body, just like such items use to be stored in sets. Not in polybags.
  22. Ahoy! Coming back to the Silent Mary/Roundel question, I think I have made some progress. But first I have to thank @Kolonialbeamter since he was so kind to push me into the right direction. I was mainly focussing on ships of the line of the 17th century, since in my opinion the Silent Mary's overall shape and rigging is inspired by vessels like the Sovereign of the Seas , Sophia Amalia and various other ships. Towers or roundels were nowhere to be found. But then Kolonialbeamter sent me a link to an engraving of the Ark Royal. It is a contemporary depiction crafted by Claes Jansz Visscher. There are several model kits which feature these roundels. I can't say for sure if these roundels ever existed or if it was just artistic liberty. But it is completely reasonable that Visscher saw the Ark Royal with his own eyes. And looking at his other works, it seems he depicted ships mostly naturalistic. But those roundels look more like they were supposed to give coverage for muskets rather than cannons. Anyway, I'm now certain that the designers took inspiration from the Ark Royal, using the tower like structures on a 100 years later ship of the line as unique characteristic- And I think they did a wonderful job on the Silent Mary.
  23. Honourable gentlemen of the court, I, Captain Benjamin Morgan, wish to condemn the unmoced 2T vessel "Applevilla" as a prize. It came into my possession completely legal on my journey during the january MRCA.
  24. @Maxim I I wonder where Ska took the inspiration from for that name. Just as it was baptised right when I went aboard. An unusually quiet MRCA in my opinion. Jacob Nion Queen Annetta's Revenge SR 0 Fleet caught Corrington traders 4T "Bridge To Terraversa" and 3T "Queen Annetta's Price" I suppose these are NPC vessels?
