Thanks whung, you've made my day! At last we finally have another Cloudy City based set, and hopefully a sign that we could get some others! I'll be buying that on day one, and in multiples as soon as it's discounted! It's a bit difficult to tell from the images, but the Han in Hoth Attack looks very similar to the version in the (awful) promotional polybag that we had from a couple of years ago! It looks like quite a nice little set though. I'm really surprised that they've also re-issued the Homing Spider Droid, albeit with a few figures changed. The last version is still available in the UK despite being on a continual 20% discount at TRU.. so I don't see it selling very well

The Millennium Falcon colour thread (White, Grey or Blue!)
Lobot replied to appiah4's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi appiah4, I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to move several of the recent posts here that have been made in the 2015 Pictures and Rumours in an attempt to get it back on topic. Nice rendering, by the way! Oh, and personally I think it's grey...I had the original Kenner Falcon in a sort of 'off-white' and it didn't look right somehow! I've added a poll as requested....over to everyone- 125 replies

Right, please can I remind everyone that this thread is for 2015 PIctures and Rumours! Whilst some of the discussions in the last couple of days have been relatively interesting, this thread is getting seriously off-topic so I'll start moving some of the posts shortly. And, if anyone wants to discuss the colour of the Millennium Falcon, please use the dedicated thread! (link)

Hi Kman860, as sk_bricks mentioned they do seem to be heavily influenced from Ralph McQuarrie's original artwork, which is obviously not a bad approach to take if you want to retain the classic 'heritage' of it! For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum; I'll merge this thread with it in a bit -
Thanks Regimus, I'm glad that it went to a good home All those hours sourcing shiny new parts weren't wasted! I'm almost tempted to build another one this winter.....!

Glad to be of help Soul....I built them individually the first time, but quite why I can't recall! Yes, I was really rather surprised when I added the first mandible to it, I think it's the first time that you get a real idea of the size of it. Keep up the great work, but I'd recommend that you take your time with it and enjoy the building process. And, that's an impressive collection, you're very lucky to be able to display everything like that (99% of mine is tucked away safely in its boxes!).

Hi Something_Awesome I much prefer the Slave 1. I really enjoyed building it and there's just something about it. Whilst the Sandcrawler is very well designed, it's basically a brown box on tracks! For future reference, there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum which is ideal for this sort of question. I'll merge this thread with it in a bit -
Thanks for another great review, MrLee I'm really not sure what to make of this model, or even the concept really. Considering that it's a Snowspeeder, you've got to wonder why the troops aren't kept nice and warm in a fully enclosed hull? The wind-chill has got to be really something, especially if it's moving at speed! Anyway, apart from that, I don't think that I'll be investing in this unless it's available at a significant discount, the RRP is genuinely ridiculous

That's a good point H_Solo, but I think it could still be a potential issue if you're sourcing new white parts from a variety of different sellers. I remember when I built mine for the first time I was surprised how 'off-white' it looked, almost more of a cream colour. I guess there's always going to be a range of different shades in different sets, simply due to manufacturing tolerances. That's why I think it's best not to Bricklink it unless you really want to do it for the challenge, and I can understand that if anyone does!

Hi Legocitycustoms For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit, as I don't think it warrants a thread of its own -
Hi hachiroku I've heard of a few people Bricklinking the Imperial Shuttle, but if you've only got a few parts to start with it could be quite a challenge. In theory, it's only 2,500 parts, but there's around 220 types so I'd guess that you'll need to make a lot of orders unless you are lucky enough to find stores that have parted-out the set. I may be wrong, but I doubt that you'll save much compared to buying a decent used one (and that's likely to include the minifigures, box & instructions). I don't want to discourage you, but before you commit yourself I'd recommend that you spend some time on Bricklink and see if it's viable. It's a great model and one of my favourites (although it's disassembling the wings was a rather painful experience for me!). Good luck if you go ahead with the project

Great work, Soul! The frame is relatively quick to build and I've always enjoyed that part, but it will start to look a lot more impressive when you've added the feet and mandibles!. It's probably fairly obvious, but I'd really recommend that you build the feet in parallel (I didn't the first time and regretted it afterwards! ) I'm looking forward to seeing more updates.

Apologies for the delay in commenting on this KevFett2011, I intended to but go side-tracked somehow! Considering the 'minimal' look of the scene, it was always going to be difficult to create a really stunning MOC, but you've replicated the key elements very well and it's instantly recognisable. You've added some nice little touches to add some interest to it, but if you're considering ways to improve it, I'd also suggest adding some plates etc to the table, and possibly using a trans-light blue back for the circular window and possibly adding some back-light to it

Well done, H_Solo, the cockpit is a vast improvement on the original I know that I've said it before, but I really don't understand why TLG made such an awful job of designing it compared to the rest of the set. I purchased my set when it was on sale, shortly before it was finally discontinued and in hindsight it was a good deal.
-
Thanks, that's interesting, although £1,000 is towards the maximum that I'd ever expect TLG to retail a set at! However, I think it's more likely that it will be a display set to attract buyers into the store, but time will tell. If it's true, I'll be buying one as soon as they're available, although I'm not sure how I'll be able to sneak it past my wife!

Hi lanesteele240, I don't think that there's any logic to be honest. TLG appear to have set a 'standard' RRP for the current UCS fighters/ships and, if I recall correctly, the B-Wing was also the same. I have both the X-Wing and Slave 1 and I much prefer the latter, despite the problems with it. It's really interesting to build, looks amazing and the artwork on the box is beautiful! For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit -
You need to upload the photos onto another site (e.g. flickr or Brickshelf) and then you can deeplink them from it. Please keep the size to a maximum of 800 x 600; there's a dedicated thread (link) if you need any help with it The UCS TIE is next on my shopping list, but I'm waiting for some sort of discount on it before I do. Hopefully we'll get double VIP points sometime next month.

There's a dedicated thread for the availability of Star Wars sets (link). I'll move a few of the posts across to it in a bit, so that we keep this thread focused on the 2015 sets (rather than where they're available!). And, it's interesting that there's other AFOLs who live so close to me, I was in the Exeter branch of TRU last night as well!

Hi legoxan, and welcome to Eurobricks! Personally, I'd go for the Falcon as it's so iconic (even with the new dish!) but it's up to you. For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit -
I've just found them at my local Toys R Us in the UK (full details here). The artwork is amazing, and it's worth getting just for that, but it's a shame that the minifigure isn't chrome. It looks like the stocks are quite limited, so you may need to be quick

Hi Brickthusiast, and welcome to Eurobricks! Providing that you comply with the general site guidelines (link) you're welcome to add any details you know about the set in this thread. As you're probably aware, we don't allow anyone to advertise until they have reached 100 posts, and you won't be able to use the PM system until you've made 10 posts.

It's shown on the Brickset website as a Star Wars set (link) so I think so

Hi appiah4, and welcome to Eurobricks! I've grabbed a few B-Wings (75050) recently at 50% off, and at that price they're realACly hard to beat. Alternatively, the old Y-Wing (9495) is a nice little set, and I really like the greebling on it in particular. For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this thread with it in a bit -
Whilst this is all very interesting, please can I remind everyone that this thread is for 2016 Pictures and Rumours And moving on, thanks Cwetgo, that's great news! I'm really surprised that we'll get an new UCS Sowspeeder, but as much as I like the original version it's well overdue for a facelift. Considering how impressive the recent UCS sets have been, Slave 1 & X-Wing in particular, it's going to be on my shopping list.
