I'd appreciate it if you could use the 'Shift' key for the first letter of each sentence in future. It allows you to add capital letters which make everything far easier to read and understand. And, I understand that some mobiles and tablets even have an option to switch between lower and uppercase with just a single click

[MOC] Emperor's Throne Room in Kenner Micro Collection style.
Lobot replied to BaronSat's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I took that as a challenge! Another highly impressive MOC BaronSat, and it's crammed with so many details. I particularly like the design of the viewing ports, the lift and gantry and the greebling on the reverse of it. Do you know how many parts it is in total? Looking at it, most of them seem to be relatively common so I assume it wouldn't be that expensive to Bricklink? -
Great work sandtrooper; it's always good to see another Bricklinked UCS Falcon! The LEDs look very nice, especially the engines and cockpit. if you don't mind me asking, what did you use? I take it they aren't the LEGO Technic ones, as they seem far brighter!

Hi Penmanz, and welcome to Eurobricks! Yes, as mentioned above it appears to be a 'hybrid' of different minifigures and it certainly isn't an official character! There's a full inventory of SW minifigures on Bricklink that you may find helpful (link). For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit -

Hi admiralackbar74, and welcome to Eurobricks! Bricklink should be ideal for this sort of thing; according to the inventory for the part (62810) it appears in 10 different sets as LBG (Light Bluish Grey) including both the UCS Sandcrawler and B-Wing. For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit -
Please can I remind you of the EB posting guidelines (below). I would be grateful if you could take a little more time composing them in future, thanks Also, please can everyone try and refrain from discussing pricing and the differences between countries, thanks

New to star wars minifigure collection - Any help / beginner tips?
Lobot replied to Marshgray's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi Marshgray, and welcome to Eurobricks! As you've probably found there's a huge range of minifigures available, so it can be quite daunting especially if you've not been collecting for a while. I agree with the previous posts; I'd have a good look through the Bricklink catalogue and possibly create a wishlist or a spreadsheet. You may find some bargains on Ebay etc if you're lucky, but personally I'd either try to buy heavily discounted sets (which can be as cheap as buying the figures sometimes!) or source the individual figures from a reputable seller on Bricklink. Most stores have specific weight bands for postage costs, so it's usually best to find a store with several figures that you want and you can potentially save considerable amounts by ordering in larger volumes when you can afford to. As for exclusives, there's usually a 'curve' to the price; they usually start at a premium, gradually fall for a while and then finally starts to climb again as the available supply diminishes. So, it's usually just a case of watching the 'market' and buying at the optimum time! Good luck with your collecting!- 18 replies

[MOC] [LDD] Trade Federation Battle Ship [Midi - scale]
Lobot replied to _Samibotss_'s topic in LEGO Star Wars
To be honest, your MOC is quite 'basic' and I can't imagine that there are many SW fans who would consider buying the instructions for it, which I assume is your intention. If you're being serious about this, you may want to have a better look at the source material and go from there. There are a multitude of different LEGO elements available, and if you used them appropriately you could significantly improve on it. -

Here's a thread that you may find useful (link) I'm almost tempted to offer to do this for you.....! To minimise the cost you'll need to use a combination of Bricklink, and the two LEGO ordering services 'Pick a Brick' and 'Bricks and Pieces'. Unfortunately the latter is currently closed and probably won't be open again until the end of January based on the last couple of years (it isn't currently shown on the link I included!). I'd strongly recommend that you check each part on both LEGO sites as the price will vary in some instances. Generally speaking though, small elements (technic pins, greebling parts etc) are far cheaper on Bricklink if you want to start immediately, but tiles and larger plates will be cheaper via LEGO. If you look at the thread I wrote, it includes details of the parts I ordered from them. You should also bear in mind that LEGO has a flat-rate postal charge, so if you order heavier parts from Bricklink the postage can become prohibitive, especially from abroad (even if they are a little cheaper than from LEGO!). If you haven't already found a parts list, there's one on Bricklink (here) which you can copy directly into Excel. -

Hi, If you're looking to buy a Bricklinked version, have you tried Ebay? They're regularly advertised, and with a bit of luck you should be able to find one at around £8-900. I've Bricklinked a couple in the last few years and if you're looking for a relatively accurate one, using new parts, it would be in the region of £650 so if you're happy to pay for someone's time, you're likely to end up being in a similar price range to Ebay. If you're seriously interested I'd totally recommend sourcing it all yourself, it's a great challenge! There's several threads here on Eurobricks, and if you a standard Google search you'll find a wealth of other information available. My on reservation is that you may run into problems finding sufficient parts if you're going to attempt 3 at once (15,000 parts are a lot!) and some you'll need are relatively rare... [MOC] Millennium Falcon - Still the coolest spaceship!

Amazing work marshal, and if you decide to submit it as an Ideas project I’m sure that it will get the recognition that it deserves -
Hi Lukasguy, you may find this thread useful I'll merge this post with it in a bit. I used the inventory for the model on Bricklink (here) and it was correct (I ended up with a couple of spare parts, but that was probably my fault!). As for an instruction manual, I'd suggest either Bricklink or Ebay, but considering how much the set has increased in value during the last couple of years it's likely that you'll pay a premium for it. It's a great model and well worth the effort. Good luck with your build!

Perhaps £750 is towards the top-end of the possible price point, but bearing in mind that the cost of 10179 was set in 2007 there's 'standard' inflation, plus the additional 'premium' that most new sets seem to include, to factor into it. I would be delighted if a replacement was at a £550 price-point, but personally I think it could be north of that. The cost of anything is subjective; all I can say is if you found a MISB 10179 on Ebay from a legitimate seller for the same amount, wouldn't you jump at it? I certainly would! Whilst it's understandably a lot of money to some, you've just got to look around the internet for the 'die-hard' fans who spend tens of thousands on their hobbies, just look at what some of the original MISB Kenner action figures sell for..... The UCS X-Wing could be a good comparison; TLG updated it just enough to make it sufficiently different, but it still retains the 'essence' of the original set. A similar approach to a new UCS Falcon would be a smart move

Firstly, please can I ask everyone to refrain from making posts such as '+1', '+100' etc as they add absolutely nothing to the thread. The EB guidelines are clear about this sort of thing and we expect a certain degree of maturity when writing, thanks I think the key difference between 2007 and the last couple of years is the popularity of LEGO, which is supported by the huge sales (and profits) that they've enjoyed recently. This is partly due to an increase in collectors and fans (many of whom are in their 30-40s and with more disposable income than common sense, and I include myself in that category!). But, in addition, there's also the 'Brickpicker' factor with people actively buying sets for future resale. I would expect that if TLG decided to advertise a pre-order UCS Falcon (10179 scaled) at £750 with a limited run of 20,000 worldwide they would sell out in a week without any difficulty, and I'd be in the line for one. You've also got to bear in mind that TLG don't necessarily have to make a lot of money to consider releasing a new version, as it could literally be considered as a 'flagship' model. How many potential buyers would go to a LEGO shop to look at one (and then decided to buy the system-scale version?).

Actually Bricklink is a very good system once you understand how it works Some sellers include the accessories, but most don't so you'll often need to order these separately. The quickest way I've found to do this is to search via the set that the minifigure appears in. For example, if you want the version in 75096, enter that and then select the 'Set' hyperlink. Next click on '619 Parts' and you should be able to view this screen (link). All you need to do is scroll down until you find the different components and open the links. You can then use the filters (e.g. location etc) to find a suitable seller -
Great work H-Solo, it's always good to see another Bricklinked project! To be honest, I've never really been that interested in owning the UCS AT-ST, even when it was available at a very reasonable cost. I don't think that it's been very popular amongst collectors as the aftermarket price has remained low until very recently, when it's suddenly spiralled upwards. It just looked a bit underwhelming somehow, and there were far too many studs visible in the top section. However, your modifications are a major improvement and I'm quite tempted to see if I can track a MISB version down, and replicate the changes you've made. And, don't delay with the 10143, it should be quite straightforward to Bricklink!

Hi Reidnes, and welcome to Eurobricks! I've only owned the older 6211 version, which I really enjoyed building and seemed like excellent value for money when I bought it. It had a nice selection of minifigures, but as you mention the bridge was totally out of proportion compared to the rest of the set. The shape of the newer 75055 is more movie-accurate, but it seems considerably smaller which is a shame. For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit -
