Where can I check for the lowest price in the global market?
Ravelino replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
We have Brickwatch for NL/BE/FR/UK and https://www.toybricksfinder.eu/ for Italian and Spanish prices (usually zavvi and/or amazon) and I know of https://www.brickeconomy.com/ which does have ebay prices in US. I can't find any specifically for the rest of the world but you can deduce the price range in your region from those if you know what a similar set costs and compare them. https://www.bricklink.com or https://www.brickowl.com could be a good option as well. Although the rarer a set gets the higher the prices will be as well, but sometimes I can find a HK or Singapore seller which have the set I'm looking for even below EU MSRP before retirement when searching for a set. Usually amazon or a similar local site would be your best choice to check also, but be careful it comes from the store platform and not reseller platform of those sites. -
Thanks and glad you noticed! The trickiest part of the entire build was to keep those goggles on long enough for the photo

Yeah I hope so too but don’t think they will, since that would kind of make the gwp obsolete won’t it? Maybe in a looong while.

[ART MOC] Roy Lichtenstein "In the Car" (1963)
Ravelino replied to jp-30's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nice job again! You might just enthuse me to build a mosaic myself(although I'll have to save up on some round tiles in other colors than lbg and dark tan first) And I think the (absurdly simple) technique for attaching the minifig works like a charm! -
[M4-22 - 12x12 Vignette] -Jar Jar gets into trouble(again)
Ravelino replied to Artizan's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Saw this movie a million times (including quite recently) and never noticed this! Nice vignette, I especially like the posing and the brickbuilt fish(?) with the pink head. Also never knew hands could be shoved in a fish-mouth or I would've done it ages ago(yes I know the politically incorrect use of the word)- 2 replies

Witcher III minifigure designs.
Ravelino replied to LegoDog0126's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I think the Triss is the best looking of the four although her hair could be more chestnut red if at all possible. I think I’d go with dark red if you had to pick a real Lego colour. This pops a little too much for my eyes. And maybe the eyes need a dark edge or something to make them more pronounced. For Yen, the clothes look great and the face is okay too but her expression could be more ‘knowing’ and the colour of the eyes a more violet tint, this looks magenta(?). To quote from the books “Her eyes were cold and sparkling with a remarkable violet penetrating gaze, in anger blazing with livid, blue-gray fire. Those very eyes also concealed wisdom and imperiousness” I don’t remember those clothes for Cirilla (just looked it up and saw it’s an alt) but the face looks nice. Geralt’s Grandmaster Wolven armour looks cool, but the face however needs much work still. It looks way too ‘clone warsy’(don’t know how else to explain check out Lego clone wars figs from back when) compared to the other three. I think you need to let go of the pupils and just give him yellow eyes with a sparkle like the others and widen the space between the brows a bit. Still marvellous job though, just giving you my two cents -
Good luck! I used an old Ferrari F8 windscreen that was fading a bit already (back when you could still buy one from B&P I picked up an extra), but you're probably right about that JP set thanks for showing me! I thought there was some sort of print on that and I already have the big T-rex so I wasn't too interested in this one.

[MOC] Lupin III - The Castle of Cagliostro
Ravelino replied to sdrnet's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow, I'm usually not a fan of the micro build style but with all those details and functions you put in, I can't help but like this build very much. It helps a little that I have a weak spot for Manga and Anime and you captured the original vibes perfectly while adding a lot of extra texture and life to it in the form of Lego elements. Plus I didn't know this show/movie yet ,shame on me but it's a little before my time hehe, so I have something to watch(whenever I get to free up some time) Do the hands on every side of the clock tower move simultaneously? Don't answer, I'll wait for the viddy -
"The Golden Frog" Restaurant - Modular Building MOC
Ravelino replied to ReplicaOfLife's topic in LEGO Town
Ooh ah BLO Modular, this BLO's me away(yes, silly pun intended)! It might be a bit over like someone said earlier, indeed maybe a pastel would be better but hey! I've seen worse colour choices from official sets so who gives? I pretty much agree with everyone here. I really like the staircase, and would love to see the improved version you have in mind. The roofing and the terrace are very lovable as well. Wonder why'd you call it The Golden Frog though when one really has to search for those buggers (found 'em though no worries), maybe a couple more like over the main entrance would be nice though I'd get why you would be hesitant. All in all: Very nice job- 26 replies

Thanks! I did use an eraser actually, to be more exact the type that's on the back of a cheap pencil ( took them out of the pencil back and used up two of those completely) but have heard it's easier using copper polish and a little rubbing with a cloth. Haven't tried this myself since I don't own copper polish and I do own a lot of cheap pencils already so if you do use the second technique maybe clean the windscreen with some (soft) soapwater afterwards. https://www.lowlug.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=664 here's a little discussion that might help with some photos of the aftermath (needs google translate though cause it's in Dutch) You can also just buy the windscreens w/o print on BL if I'm not mistaken but they're quite expensive if I recall correctly.

This model, inspired by the 2020 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, is the second MOC from my Time Cruisers Contest entry that I updated and made instructions for, available on Rebrickable soon. At first I wanted this model to have opening doors, but after realizing I wasn’t able to fit any minifigures or have the recognizable side air intakes if I did that, I let this desire go. Instead I decided to make the engine as similar looking to the real engine as could be, working with little Lego elements. I hope you like it! Special thanks to Christopher Leslie Stamp’s team and The Lego Company for creating the new Lego Speed Champions line. Special thanks to my fellow Lowlug LUG members for teaching me so much about MOCs and working in Bricklink Studio in such a short time. Special special thanks to Chef_NL/Rob van Leeuwen for saving me heaps of time. Studio crashed during the finalization of the instruction booklet and somehow I lost the original file in the process and got a (seemingly) useless backup file in return. Also special thanks to Barneius, Brickengineeringdude, Bricks, Blocks & Mocs, Legotuner33, I'm a conformist!, _TLG_ and numerous other great MOC designers around the globe for showing me tons of beautiful models, techniques and how to format a MOC entry properly. Thank YOU for watching! Please do not hesitate to comment and post some feedback. Yours, Ravelino why does K33p 0n Br!cking translate to this in EB language?

I'm always amazed by builders like you that make tons of alts using only bricks of an existing set. I mod a set here and there but when I really alt I usually end up with something so similar looking I don't even dare sharing it. Personally I like the GT86 the most since both the interior and exterior look so smooth but the other two have some interesting techniques as well

Thanks, yeah maybe I went a little overboard with that one.

You know what they say about simple solutions, and I tend to agree. To be honest it was because of the simplicity that I almost took an entirely different approach. But I couldn’t hide the construction while maintaining a smooth looking interior like it has now so I went ‘back to basic’.

This model, inspired by famous Lamborghini bestsellers like the Huracán (vendaval is Spanish for gale) and the Aventador SVJ, is the result of several prototypes and hours of hard work on both the model and its instructions. I started the work on this late 2020 in the middle of a certain pandemic and have altered the original quite a bit since.Although it is more of a display piece, the Vendaval is quite sturdy, aside from the rear diffuser which is held in place by a simple bar in hole connection. So long as you don’t grab it by the tail it is very swoosh-able. SPECS:Width:8-wide Speed Champions scale or approx. 210LDU/10,5 studs from mirror tip to mirror tip.Length:390 LDU / 19,5 studs. I shortened the original prototype by a stud to get a more comparable sized open door.Height:108 LDU / 4 bricks and a plate / 13 platesPiece count:311 pcs FEATURES:The car features two poseable scissor doors. Not to be confused with real time opening doors, as the doors are wedged in place when closed by the cheese slope above the intakes.(You can slightly bend the door outwards to pop it open but I recommend removing and replacing the entire door module instead as is shown in the instructions)The 4x2 wedges on the rear can be easily removed to get a nice view of the naturally aspirated V12.And the front interior looks glorious even without removing the windscreen! Of course this can also easily be done to fit two minifigures with short hair or a helmet. [ART MOC] Roy Lichtenstein's 'Girl with Hair Ribbon'
Ravelino replied to jp-30's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great job, it has the looks of an official set! If I had to be nitpicking, I would've taken a different approach to the minifig stand though. It looks a bit flimsy (although it does its job well I reckon) and takes away from the overall aesthetic imho. I agree ! Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of the Art line(all those logo's and gate residue that 'need' to be put in the correct position/turned away triggers my latent OCD) and the fact they do not provide a minifig adds to that. Are you planning to do more like this? (either work from Lichtenstein or other artists or perhaps some comic frames?) -
Nice job Ayrlego, I’m amazed at how many MOCs you manage to produce with such constant quality! I think you’d have to be quick, I know 2 of the 3 stores in my vicinity have already sold out. Hahahaha far yellow extremist! I used to be in your camp as well but find more and more reasons to let go of yellow heads every now and then.

Oh snap that is one-two-three nice space SHIPs!! Will this live long enough for us to see it in person somewhere? Or does it use so many useful and irreplaceable parts it will be torn down within a couple months? Woehahahaha @ZCerberus stop trying to steal the show because you're about to succeed if you keep this up! on the real though I'm plotting Sci-Moc's assassination in order to steal his building skills and internet presence, who's with me?

So many great things! From the SNOT base of the technic gear collumns, to the little guilded cage, the chess board and the hammock made of minifig capes, I'm loving it! Hope you get a good shot at the prize, because the build deserves it!

Jose's Inn by Jip Kempers, on Flickr Welcome to José's Inn! The owner is a grump, and his past a bit shady, but it's the only place on the market where you can get black barrel beer! More pics here Thanks for watching!

This MOC killed you! Lovely build, though, with a lot of npu’s ( and techniques Base is nice too, even the (I’m just gonna put it out there) phallic charms around the edge. Only thing (sort of) missing is a good ole bottle o’ rum!

All the stages of Wine Making in a single MOC
Ravelino replied to Celloguy's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
When I saw the title, at first I thought ”Did someone just complete the Summer Joust group challenge in under 9 days...by himself!?” Evidently this is not the case, but that makes this MOC no less amazing! Lots of great little details. I especially like the different stages of ripening, the brick built chicken coop and blackbird(raven?), and also how you made a nice slot for the seeds.I also like how you put the historically more plausible grape pressing method in it, as well as the romanticised “stomping with the feet” Really the only thing that struck me as a bit odd is the width of the tree in the first and fourth picture, although it looks lovely again in the second Also gave you my support on the Bubble Scouts!
