  1. Thanks! Yeah me neither, apparently they were in two sets. The Incredibles Underminer Bank Heist and the Townhouse Pet Shop & Cafe. I happened upon them while searching for the yellow leaves.
  2. Been busy with other things lately. Finally found the time to do some work in Stud.io Big Tower WIP rework Stud.io by Jip Kempers, on Flickr
  3. My first entry for the Summer Joust 2020 contest Mushrooms! by Jip Kempers, on Flickr More pictures here C&C welcome! Thanks for viewing :)
  4. Why? You can buy a set of those pieces for less than a dollar on BL? Like I said on LowLUG, another wonderful design!
  5. I gotta be more attentive of this thread lol... Most of you will have seen these wander around on Flickr but as a formality I'll add them to this post as well. You can scroll down for the latest updates Big WIP Bridge Studio Render by Jip Kempers, on Flickr Gatehouse/Keep Module WIP Studio by Jip Kempers, on Flickr Big Mystery WIP Studio 18/05/2020 Bley by Jip Kempers, on Flickr Sooo.. Today I haven't been able to do much work on Studio so I decided to break down the tower as I've gotten more and more disturbed by the gaps. Also I still wasn't completely satisfied with the silhouette of the Wolf. So after taking in some of the advice I'd received here and there (more modularity=less destruction to change things, close the gaps, lose the wooden floor) I broke it down and started anew. The result is slightly bigger(it used to be 12x14 it is now 20x20 but unintenionally the dimensions work out much better for the Wolf Silhouette and the fact that the back can be taken off now. Big WIP Tower rework by Jip Kempers, on Flickr More pictures(of every stage) can be found on my Flickr
  6. Like I said on the LowLUG forum: another beautiful boat and a nice story to go with it I also love the use of the little shell on the beach and the crow(or raven? ) in the tree to add a little life to the island!
  7. I see that I missed out on a few updates here.. So after a few nights cursing and searching I’ve decided to stop working “on the fly”. Big Wip Layout by Jip Kempers, on Flickr Even though I’m spending roughly 80% of my Lego time on sorting, my collection is still too chaotic to keep building for more than a few minutes before I get stuck because I couldn’t find enough of the next element, switch the game plan and replay the loop. Big Tower WIP by Jip Kempers, on Flickr I got tired of this and so, after adding a few cheese slopes, I decided to leave my bricks alone except for sorting and some smaller projects, and mainly focus on the design for now. Wip 2 by Jip Kempers, on Flickr I roughly know what I have in stock (I have more elements that I don’t know of than elements I know of and do not have so that’s a plus) so it’s possible for me to continue working in LDD/Studio. bigwipstudio by Jip Kempers, on Flickr I do not consider it the same, though. I’ll never get used to not having bricks in my hands while testing out new connections, but (at the moment) a much speedier development process for the rough sketches.
  8. Noticed I haven’t done an update in a while, so here’s a few new pics! Wip 4 by Jip Kempers, on Flickr Haven’t progressed much on this module as I too often find myself in doubt about what to do and/or searching for the right elements. I am currently in the middle of sorting my collection so I lack the time(and space) to take proper photography precautions. I used to have an “organised chaos” not unlike some of you might have had in the past but 5 bl orders and 20 big sets later I realised it might not work so well anymore. I did get to mess around with some old and new furniture...
  9. Nice little house, I really like the tudor style and the red roof! I'd like to see more pictures so I can give you a full feedback on the interiors! If you go to this website you can register for free and upload up to 1000 pictures which you can edit into your original post like: More pictures on My Flickr ( << this example uses my own flickr account) You can do hyperlinks with the little chain at the top next to the " quotation button.
  10. I made a little MOC while sorting my collection and looking for pieces for a contest over at LowLUG The Fright from the Skies by Jip Kempers, on Flickr Let me know what you think of a flying (!) warg
  11. Released some pictures of the entire tower as it is: Tower WIP by Jip Kempers, on Flickr More pictures can be found on my Flickr Album
  12. That's another nice example of the recently popular Lego tensegrity structure! By the way I can see you posted that Dragonslayer duo februari, but is it possible I've seen (pictures) of that MOC from some time before? Because I can't remember it being just 2 months
  13. Nice siegetower! Like everyone said it looks very accurate and sturdy. I’m not too fond of the crownies though, I have enough of them already To get an idea of how to make the drop gate ‘playable’ you could take a look at Ecclesiastes’ redux of the 6086 especially the little drawbridge It’s a simple enough solution which doesn’t take in too much space but adds a nice playability factor to the build.
  14. Now that’s a hot drake So sad they haven’t released those ball hinges in a couple more colours... Like red..green..tan..
  15. I uploaded a few pictures, this time some more detailed shots of the top level. Check it out now!
  16. Ah yes the obvious.. Well the Moroccan teahouses in the Netherlands (used to) sell the “chocolate” one can find in a coffeeshop as well so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was what you meant by ‘not only tea’
  17. Nice excuse to make a a railway carriage, and it looks great! The house looks nice too And uh.. What else can one find in a tearoom besides tea? Because there's no interior pictures.. I can see the carriage is filled to the brim, is there an interior to the house as well?
  18. Don't know Wesley, but A: that's not a full title, and B: Only guesses in the flickr comments or in pm (personal message so not a topic reply) will be approved and counted for the prize. This topic is intended mainly for feedback and criticism, sooo...I just unlocked the pictures of the second storey!!! Tower Module WIP by Jip Kempers, on Flickr Tell me what you think people! Anything about the build itself so far? Things you would do differently? It needs some foliage and I'm really still struggling between panels and brick-built.
  19. Depends on what you want to build most!? About colors: If it's little scenes you want, you could do with the grays, blacks, browns, tans and a few trans elements for lights/water/etc and some (green) foliage pieces like the 1x1 round brick with 3 leaves to spice it up. If you want to build spaceships and speeders (unless your aim is a grey imperial fleet) you'll need a few more colors for accents. The type of element is totally dependent on what you like but these always come in handy: Plates in various sizes will help you set a footprint, and you can do a banthacrap-load of landscaping with just 1x2 plates 1x1 and 1x2 bricks with stud on side(and the headlight/washing machine brick) will help you do some nice angling with SNOT and fortifying structures. Jumper plates 1x2 or 1x3 or 2x2 there might be others but those are the most common Cheese slopes! Tiles! Everybody loves a smooth surface and tiles are so handy My advice Keep sorting and once you have an idea of what your collection consists of, part out everything but 20 of each element in each available color.(of course the more the better and if you don't reach the 20 limit than you just keep it all) This is my personal rule of thumb, and I have no mathematical logic behind this, but my personal experience tells me this: Even the smallest little thing will need two of something and maybe even 4 and by keeping 20 pieces of the same element in the same color you can make at least 2 versions of a particular small MOC and compare the two and maybe even keep both as a sort of non-identical twin. My second advice: Don't sell your Lego unless you need to because of space/money/your significant other tells you to(not even then, just get a divorce). If you do have to sell it, know what you will be selling so you won't get pains later realizing you sold a rare piece/color in a bulk-deal (you wouldn't be the first)
  20. Jxxxx Cxxxxx! (Don’t mean to be blaspheming but that’s Him right? Or a MOC about Him at least) Lovely setting! Instantly recognizable and I like how you placed every body and everything. Will you be making a scene with the spear as well or would that be too gorey?
  21. Tall Black Tower WIP by Jip Kempers, on Flickr So yesterday I started uploading my latest WIP Project to its own Flickr Album I decided to upload every day or two depending how fast it progresses to get some feedback and tips while I build instead of having to alter a thousand things in the end. Which’ll probably still occur lol! I also decided to make a little guessing game of what it will be and to spice it up a bit I upped the ante by asking what the full title of the finalized project will be. (I have it in my head since brick one) Winner will get a nice memento once the project is finished, and the rules are in the descriptions of today’s upload and if you don’t have a Flickr account you can send me a pm here or on the LowLug forum. C&c welcome, wanted, needed!
  22. @Norton74 I agree on both accounts I meant that even in real life they look a bit high. where one could easily make them a half length longer with an extra set of wheels to divide the weight better but that’s today’s engineering on yesterday’s inventions. LEGO horses are a bit on the small side. I use the old molds for mares and the new ones for stallions but I feel we could use more types of horse
  23. oooh these are nice! cool colors and like someone said on Flickr NPU on those flower baskets with the chest lid and the 3633 fence piece. they do look a bit high but otherwise those doors wouldn't fit and hey! even roma minifig need living space! I like those fences with the lever base and lattice piece on the red and yellow wagon although for an official set that wouldn't do I would guess only thing to nag about is how the guy with the doggies looks too much like Jack Sparrow to me
  24. pfff..this brings me back to my childhood years the 6086 actually the first big castle I ever owned and the only set I rebuild more than once along with the wolf pack renegades.. I really like the way you kept the footprint but made it an altogether new build with similar but different techniques, I'm especially fond of how you did the drawbridges (there's 2 now!) dungeon/pit area and the mess hall, although that keep and portcullis need an honourable mention too! that pack of soldiers is just marvelous, as said above the use of that cmf body with the green dragon sigil is brilliant, but also the different faces feel good and even though there's more archers than I can remember it feels natural as there's already the wolf pack guy looks great too although maybe a little too great to be in a set with the double cloak, printed legs and the cmf scary knight face lol that ghost though.. do you per chance remember which part belongs to which set? I'm set on having me a few of those myself *putting on supercritical hat* personally I don't like the switch from black to dark bley but that's just me.. another thing that feels a bit off is how the knights and even the soldiers aren't as unique characters as in the set because of the shields and color scheme being the same/similar. I'd rather see the guy with the black barding with a white plume and maybe one of the guys with the one piece helmet with a red/dark red plume, and some of the soldiers with the green dragon tunic still like Mr. Quilones said..I would buy this in a heartbeat if this was an Ideas set
  25. *decides to leave hilarious off topic discussion alone for now* As stated by other members I believe forums are still relevant. They may not be as popular nowadays as back when it was "new" but it creates a much larger platform for open discussion than a mere comment section.
