  1. When I saw this contest I was like "Didumos buggy is going to win this" ... but reading the entry topic your ride is banned for using 4L motors, you can only use 3 of those. I figured you could compromise the rear end by using a single L motor with a diff on the rear axles and still be good. But personally I would not compromise such an awesome performance machine, though winning a Bugatti might still be worth it....
  2. That's a nice compact compressor you build there. I had been wondering about the auto shutoff function and figured it would use a cillinder pushing a switch but I could not figure how it would turn it back on when pressure gets low, now seeing these elestic bands gives me a "aha erlebnis" ... cool ! I have a slightly more bulky concept on my desk right now, running 4 shortstroke pumps, 1x 6L yellow, 1x 6L clear blue and 2x 6.5L blue V2 pumps. I was aiming for max PSI for a pneumatic laserguided missle launcher, my contraption now reaches slightly over 50 psi, wich packs quite the punch when released in a barrel made out of 2L liftarms, it shoots axle rockets from my workbench across the hallway into my livingroom. (using a modified switch, outputs drilled to 2mm) I've also noticed the clear blue 6L pump is the best as it comes to high pressure and the old 6L yellow is the worst, also tested all my valves and put a little sticker on them, no more 2nd hand pneumatics for me, most of them performed very bad when put under pressure, this also goes for pumps and cillinders sold as 'like new' or 'good' wich to my standarts where actually 'poor' in performance. That video is looking good, I'm saving up for a new PC as this old thing is now 14 years old and full of trouble, also got a cheap SQ12 sportscam from China comming this way.
  3. Thanks ! Definitely my most fun build sofar, I love the performance of the LiPo'd 4x L motor. Now wich color suits best ? Or... ?
  4. Cool ! I was planning to do something just like this, got the tires in last week and my colors are orange and black haha... Two motors on the rearwheel could be geared up instead of down, plenty of power there and will make it go fast instead of 'fastish" I like it.
  5. Yeah ! There it is; https://bricksafe.com/files/Permo/de-driftkikker/Video.mp4 This will play from your browser without having to download it first. Thanks a bunch to mocbuild101 for compiling and converting the video's, he did a great job on that and I think this vid gives a good impression of the powerhouse this little ride is. Some small designchanges are in progress but overall I'm very satisfied with this build. Have fun !
  6. Very cool, thanks a lot,... and no hurry
  7. Oh wow, that's a very generous offer ! I don't have software to change video formats, my PC won't even play the video's, it only shows the first frame and from there there's sound only. (my PC did play your link without problems) So I still don't know what's on the video's myself. Please be my guest and turn them into a playable video, I will be very delighted to see it.
  8. Same here, I would have got one if I had a smartphone.... and my LiPo contraption is not allowed. Is it allowed to team up with someone ?
  9. "Thing goes skrrrrrrrrrrrrra" .... I know the feeling It looks pretty badass, love how you did the seats.
  10. Ah thanks, yes that could be it... when I clicked mocbuild's link it opened iin VLC webplayer, somehow I can't get it to work like that. Indeed when I click a video my PC starts to download it. I just uploaded one to tinypic http://nl.tinypic.com/r/314s86d/9 This also won't play on my PC as for some reason I can't install flash.... but it might work for you people.
  11. Very compact, very clever build. Nice.
  12. Today a friend of mine took some video footage with his phone. I think the daylight vents in the roof messed with the IR communication too much, it drifts out of range in a second.... this car prefers dark places. The footage should be here; https://bricksafe.com/pages/Permo/roadkill Though for me it won't play on my crappy old PC, so if someone could "steel" my videos and make them visible I would be delighted....
  13. Tomorrow after work I'll be taking this baby for a spin in a large garage where all the OBV's are parked, hope to end up with some useable video... Also got some lime parts in from a bricksore, I want to see this baby in black and lime as it is the "Drifkikker" wich translates to "Hothead" ... someone who flies of the handle on regular basis, litterally translates as "rage frog" ... and frogs are green.
  14. I found some pics of the technical inards of this build on my phone; General overview Drivetrain, pneumatics and driveshaft for the rotating knives and yellow knockers (I have my own terminology for parts based on imagining them on a human scale) on the back of the vehicle. Ty wraps are sometimes mandatory to keep things from going "Thing goes Skrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrra" Compressor pump in the front, now the shaky engine works like this; I'm lazy and fairly new to Lego and I have trouble with this half stud weird things that sometimes go on, how do you mount this bloody thing ? So my fake V10 is only mounted on the front side of it, the backside has a 20T gear on it and it simply rests on the big black gear... make shure it does not sit at 12 o clock position but slightly off 11 / 10 .... there you have it "wankelmotor" I named the concept... make shure to have the drive motor running in the direction that pushes the gear (engine) upwards, the effect is awesome if you mount the hood only to the engine. The pneumatic wing doors are super easy, just a panel mounted with one pin on the top pushed by a small cilinder.... The lasergun. Simply a very small laser unit taken from a laserpointer pen and soldered to a lego powerconnector. I drilled one pin connector to fit the laser inside, it's that small. It's a 5mW red laser that was running on 4,5V really small batteries of wich one was empty... and the performance was a lot better on the Lego 9V batterybox, actually after 1 minute or so it trips the thermal fuse of the batterybox and only runs half power... wich is weird, it's only 5mW.. I have to figure this out as it seems the laser power rating is only determined by it's powersource it seems to make it legal... my guess the unit is actually way more powerfull as I could put a red dot on the churchtower in town from my roofteras, haha. So it's officially illegal now. You also get a good view of the LED strings I did, it's a 3mm warm white high lumed LED, I put a small plastic LED holder on it, in reverse, that fits nice and snug into a Lego pinhole... advantage, you can route the string trough pinholes, then push the LED holder on and position it. Also the warm white looks much nicer compared to the cool white Lego. The Lego LED's have the advantage that they consume very very little power... mine consume at least 10x as much. I have set this rule that mods are ok as long as second hand parts are used, bought specifically for the mod... I don't mod things from my build collection. Cheers !
  15. Good to see my dark sense of humor is appreciated Actually my friend just bought that set and it inspired me to do a big nasty 6 wheeler... Sorry, I don't work with LDD, freehand only for me... thought I don't have a girlfriend at the moment... makes me think about it... Sorry no video, I wish I had one, especially the rattling hood, made it sound like a real powerfull thing.... but last night I ordered a small HD cam from China, small enough to fit in the driver position also... so in the near future there will be vids of my builds. Porsche, 2 x Crawler and some small bits from brickstores,... LOVE the brickstores, another box just came in today. Thanks for all the compliments, you people inspired me to dive into Lego after seeing your builds on the net, you're an awesome bunch !
  16. ...better start running ...ok, there goes your car What ? No, it's not a lifeboat... My first MOC. 6ch of RC 4 L motors on rear wheels Servo steering RC controlled working lasergun on rooftop, motorized aiming Pneumatic grabber liftarm with rotating yellow knockers and knives, grabs and lifts Pneumatic controlled wingdoors on the cabin Working lights, front, rear, top, beams and blinkers actually blink but never on a photo. 4.7 kilo of Lego (3 batteryboxes) Fake V10 engine running from the air compressor in the front, mounted in such way that it shakes and rattles the hood, it's not connected to drive function. LED strings are DIY, blinkers blink by a magnetic readswitch, little magnet rotates with the aircompressor. 2 dollarstore flashlights serve as headlights. A friend of mine just send me these pics tonight, this MOC has allready been taken down... Enjoy :-)
  17. That seems to work, thanks for the tip, I'll use that if I have a video.
  18. Very cool build ! I used to have one just like this when I was a kid.
  19. Wow ! quite the challenge you took on there.... How is this powered ? Lego batterybox ?
  20. Thanks ! ...though not 100% finnished I'm happy with the design and performance sofar, trying to make it a bit stiffer and lighter now without giving up "the cool factor" Thank you ! ... next purchase will be some different color bits to mix with the black wich is my main color for panels now. I'm planning to have a friend film it as I don't have a cam, I've spotted a nice indoor location with concrete smooth floor wich will allow it to go full speed and do some crazy spinning without hitting any furniture... though I don't have a youtube acount and never will have as I don't agree to the terms and conditions. So I'll have to find someone who would be willing to upload it for me...
