  1. I guess your problem was coming to a conclusion that something was being handled in an atypical fashion with absolutely no reason to believe this to be the case. As I said, if a GWP shows up in my cart, I expect to get it and if a GWP doesn't show up in my cart, I understand I was too late to the game and missed out. To misquote Forest Gump, stuff happens. Several GWPs have come and gone almost instantly in recent months. The Yoda lightsaber that was included with Mos Eisley cantina set immediately comes to mind but their have been others besides the Porsche one presumably mostly if not entirely related to issues resulting from the Covid pandemic.
  2. I don't understand why some are surprised when they do or do not receive a gift with purchase. In my experience, if a GWP appeared in my cart at checkout, I have always received the item even if there was sometimes quite a delay. Alternatively if a GWP did not show in my cart at checkout, I have never received an item as an unexpected bonus. One possible exception is the GWP car from this January. My order from January 1 still shows the GWP car as backordered but I do believe Lego will eventually come through and ship it.
  3. Sariel has posted his review over in the Technic section. Spoiler alert: he really likes it.
  4. It is actually not at all like saying that. I believe JintaiZ is making the point that creativity doesn't always equal marketability. A cover band is by definition uninventive; the equivalent in lego terms of submitting yet another sitcom set or modular building to Lego Ideas.
  5. I'm sure Lego will want to know about the issue. I can't pull up the photo of the brick in question but imagine something along the lines on "pinprick" would be a more apt description than "stabbed". I had a mentor once tell me that you couldn't kill someone with a 22 gauge needle even if you wanted to and after a few decades of hands on experience I believe that to be true. I guess a significant injury might occur if a child (or adult) were to rub a brick such as you encountered on their eyeball for a bit and / or swallow it but otherwise can't imagine it causing much more discomfort than stepping on a normal garden variety brick.
  6. What did the packing slip in the box say Jamsplat? Sometimes Lego will ship partial orders.
  7. Were the pieces damaged or is the box for a small GWP really that collectible? I generally recycle the paper / cardboard and toss the plastic bags in the trash.
  8. Here is the link to the announcement: https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/f25c8120-f921-40af-af8b-a061179e1cb5
  9. If your order shows a GWP, it will be included no matter how long it takes for the actual back ordered set to ship.
  10. https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/buildinginstructions/71044 Station, instruction booklet four, includes Goofy, Chip and Minnie. Train includes Mickey and Dale.
  11. Two baseplates: 32 x 32 and 32 x 16. I have no knowledge of the TV show or movie but find the gardens, as well as city and docks sets, very appealing.
  12. Unless you really wanted that 33 piece scooter, it might have paid to wait another five minutes as purchases after midnight included two GWP: year of the OX 40417 with 167 pieces and chocolate box and flower set (30411) with 75 pieces.
  13. Designer video states that you build up to a certain point and then make decision about which of two paths you want to follow, with different sections in instruction booklet for each.
  14. Brickman one is pretty easily found. https://mymodernmet.com/ryan-mcnaught-titanic-lego/
  15. Lego Ninjago City Gardens 71741 IN-HAND Review!! - YouTube In short, "It is super cool."
  16. Supported. My wife would love it.
  17. Designer video unfortunately confirms crack in rear wall is a dead end although it is certainly a "relief" that two restrooms are available. I don't which current TV show has an Easter egg in the set either. The other Easter eggs have to do with objects in evidence locker, some of which relate to other modulars and some of which do not. I think the two cookies are a reference to Detective's Office and that the cap may be a reference to the cap worn by one of Minifigures in the Detective's Office as well (the one I always assumed was the cookie smuggler). I think red jewel is reference to Re-Gou ruby. I don't know what frying pan and two yellow containers are references to.
  18. I do collect these and don't think the version above holds a candle to the Lego set. Additionally, I would view a parking spot for a police car to be a waste of valuable space. A police car could always be positioned filling up with gas or in for repairs at the corner garage if one really needs to have a police car nearby rather than out on patrol protecting and serving.
  19. The stairs lead to the back door. The crack is near the underfloor escape tunnel that the thief is digging so I am hopeful the back wall will be able to slide out in the area of the crack to allow for a safe getaway.
  20. Moderator has addressed this line of discussion, repeatedly.
  21. I think focusing the video event on the Colosseum may have proved profitable for Lego. It was still available to add to bag before the event and is now out of stock status in US. I picked up my copy last night.
  22. Being food oriented, I'm going with DS.
  23. The crack in the back of the building is in this area and the yellow flower is the only decoration on the back so I wonder if the flower acts as a handle to pull out a small section of the back. This would allow the thief to tunnel from the holding cell and then make a tight 90 degree turn to the back of the building. ....or maybe the flower just serves to lock a slideable portion of the rear wall in place or maybe the crack just serves an notice of intent of planned escape path.
  24. I believe the thinking is that that will be a gift with purchase, whether specifically with this set or not I am not sure.
