Thanks so much! I wish the MOCer shared it on Flickr or (at least) Instagram though... Thanks so much for, it means a lot coming from you!

I've already responded to this (see below) but I have something to add to my response. First of all, I would like to say that I'm not trying to prove you wrong. I only wanted to share an example of what I'm speaking about. Here are two Garage MOCs made by two actual official Lego designers: General Store by César Soares General Store by César Soares, on Flickr Of Rust and Gasoline by Markus Rollbühler Of Rust and Gasoline by Markus Rollbühler, on Flickr And now the Corner Garage modular: Obviously, they can't make such incredible models as official sets as these MOCs have way too many illegal techniques but I guess something looking a bit nicer than the CG was possible...

I'd really appreciate having more information about this, do you know in which edition and which page it was? I've searched a bit about and only found this in the 31st edition: And I guess the beautiful black and white creepy house Jamie's referring to is one of Mike Doyle's buildings: TwoStory with Basement by Mike Doyle, on Flickr Three Story Victorian with Tree by Mike Doyle, on Flickr Lego: Victorian on Mud Heap by Mike Doyle, on Flickr Nobody said that @paupadros was the best modular MOCer... There are so many great builders that it's quite difficult to become one. I was comparing it with the CG as it's the only modular I can remember of with a similar shape. Also there are already so many great/useful parts that Lego already produces so I personally think that it would have been possible to make this modular better...

Very well said, I couldn’t agree more. If I had a chance to like a post, only one post, it would be this one. Thanks for this post.

I wonder if it would have looked better with SNOTed cheese slopes, certainly not the whole gap would be covered but probably a big part of it. And I wonder why the designer didn’t use cheese slopes as they already exist in Dark Orange...

I haven’t seen this before. I’ve been collecting nice modulars that I’ve only seen on Pinterest (except the last one which is Mike Doyle’s), you can check it out if you’re interested in: https://www.pinterest.fr/LegoModularFan/lego-modular/

Indeed, I would have preferred thousand times seeing something like this rather than the CG. This has much nicer architecture. Hey, I’m looking very forward to that! Is it architecture related?
-
Finally someone else who’s still feeling the same way about this modular! Lol, I was thinking that it was possible to see an Art Nouveau building as this years modular and we see something that almost reminds me of 70’s buildings with fewer floors and luckily a lot more interesting to look at. Too bad about the architecture as this has some great techniques such as the roofline and the SNOTed windows. I meant GE. Edited my post.

This also is kind of empty, so they are best friends: they are both not very attractive from the exterior and interior, they’re both corner buildings, they use tan baseplate... Just noticed but the corner buildings in the modular line seem to be the weakest modulars: GE, PC, BB and CG. Just some opinions. I agree with that. I expected something better after waiting for months...

I said almost only negative things about this modular and I feel like I’m a bit of a party pooper so here’s what I like about it: -Looking again more carefully at the ground floor, I actually started to like the white, dark green and dark red combo it looks very nice. -Dark orange and sand blue on the first and second floors look great. -I like the look of the quarter tiles pattern. -The tow truck is just brilliant, I agree with everyone who says it’s the best vehicle to date in the modular line. -The humour on the signs. -Some furnitures, especially the TV and the couches. -The set as a parts pack. -Some of the non-official pictures where this modular looks ten times better.

omg ,niw modular leek !!!!!! ?????wowwwwwwww !!!!!!!!!!!! ?????? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Concerning the new Corner Garage, I still don't like it. There are some nice techniques/piece usage ideas but the architectural style or the colors chosen are just not right in my opinion. I would have preferred thousand times a façade similar to @paupadros's Sweets & Co. which has a very similar shape but a much nicer architecture... Sweets & Co. by Pau Padrós, on Flickr

Thanks so much for the reply, @zux! I agree that some parts of the idea are a bit similar to Archbrick but there are two big differences between my idea and Archbrick. See below: Even if I created this blog in the future, I will keep contributing to this topic, I won't abandon a topic which has nearly 50.000 views! By the way, it makes pleasure to hear that you're also following this topic!

I don’t know, he more looks like a random guy who bought the set, built it and displaying it in his house. But if he’s really a Lego designer, I’ll be surprised that it’s another designer and not Mike.

I completely agree with you. I’ll probably end up getting this too, not to build it but for parts, the price to part ratio is still quite good even if it’s not as good as the other modulars... Unfortunately very true. I can totally see this modular being an hotel with some small modifications, I even feel that it would look and work a lot better...

For those who are thinking that AFOLs find something to criticize in every modular: Just looked at the first two pages, there are 0 criticism about the Parisian Restaurant! The rest Osborne probably similar... I’m personally feeling that Lego is in the wrong direction: worse modulars, higher prices. This reminds me of real buildings I don’t like, someone else mentioned it was the same for them too... Really hoping for this to grow on me...

I think these look a lot nicer than the official pictures... Still not totally convinced though... Wow, such a useful piece, I wonder why Lego didn't introduce it earlier... Looks pretty interesting, I wonder how MOCers are going to use this other than it's purpose...

Some of you guys' comments are a bit too rude in my opinion, we're all love the same brand and we're all here for it so no reason to be rude... First of all, I would like to say that I respect your opinion. I couldn't read all the comments but personally, I'm not a big fan. I'm personally not trying to insult designer's skills (I'm not defending myself by the way), the Lego designers are always the most skilled and talented so the greatest MOCers, what saddens me is to see that they have too many limits when working on an official Lego product which doesn't let use designer's real talents and skills. I'm sorry to say but this is my least favorite official modular to date. I respect your opinion though, not everyone have the same tastes...

Wow, 77 members in recently browsing... Honestly, I’m quite disappointed by this, expected something a lot better after waiting for months. Looks like some of the digital modular MOCs sold in Rebrickable. I don’t like the color scheme of the garage section and the upper two floors look too repetitive even if their color scheme is not bad. There are some nice mini builds, I like the truck and the TV very much but the rest isn’t special and the ground floor isn’t tiled which really disappointed me and the interior is lacking details in every floor. And this is 189€ with only 100 pieces more than the Downtown Diner which was 30€ cheaper?! Real shame, this could even not become a good parts pack.
