  1. We have birch trees around here, and I figured that it's probably what it's supposed to be, I just don't like it how it looks. Also maple trees are better, they give you syrup. ;) (Yes I know you can get syrup from birch trees too.) I think you said it better than I have. The tree is distracting. Instead of talking about the beautiful buildings and (to me) great colors, we are talking about a tree. I do love how the build is different than what I normally see. Great use for those (bleh) stud shooters.
  2. I don't think the colors clash at all. My number one complaint with LEGO community is they have a limited viewpoint. The amount of times I hear people complain that Friends doesn't have the CORRECT colors for real buildings is insane. Guess they have never seen a picture of Cuba. I love it, I love the colors. The strip of the lighter color green really works well for me. My only 'complaint' is I don't like the black and white tree trunk. I do like how you used those stud shooters through, just wish it were all black or all brown.
  3. I love the mix of brighter colors with the more earthy ones. Very nice. What color is the slope siding? Chima yellow?
  4. We have no clue, so it could be $90 or $100 just as much as it could be $70. $40 for a set with less than 300 pieces and a small dinosaur, and three figures. $X for a set with 600 pieces, a big dinosaur and 2-3 minifigures.
  5. Yeah in my experience that's exactly what happened. I tried to add some new pieces once and my whole B&P order was deleted. LEGO really needs to get their act together.
  6. You are right. The first picture I saw was blurry. The new one these things are tiny. The $20 NinjaGo bikes look bigger / better than this. I need to see if I have the Ultra Agent bike because it's 100 times better than these tiny mess of a set. I think the price will be $35-$40. Yeah it's smaller than the Delorean, but it's also several years later so inflation and LEGO just ripping everyone off.
  7. LEGO in a TRU was presented in a way that was special, at least at my TRU. Target and Walmart are just a few sets on a shelf, TRU had style. But right off the bat LEGO is losing millions from the fact TRU went bankrupt because TRU owed LEGO 26 million dollars (Someone look that up to double check that). I hate TRU, it's run horribly. However we got store exclusives there, like the Brick-tober sets, the creepy giraffe about to eat the children set. Now what happens to that? Does Target or Walmart get the exclusive sets planned for this fall and next year or do we really get in trouble and now the sets will only be at S@H and never go on sale. There is only one state that is a group of islands and not shipping there isn't as uncommon as you might thing.
  8. The Women of NASA was $25 and that's tiny. This set will probably be $50. And frankly, the Ultra Agents bike looked fine to me and was only $20.
  9. Yes! We need to convince LEGO to see if that's true. But I feel it might be because people collect the Winter series. I only have the old Holiday train, which at the time was HALF OFF at S@H (Which I guess proved trains aren't huge sellers.) and the Toy Shop. The problem is a train is $150 and until recently not on sale ever. I couldn't afford it. However having worked in toy stores I don't think money is an issue really, there are many $120 sets in City now. Maybe it's the 12 batteries the darn things need.
  10. You act like everything you say is fact, like you are God of LEGO. Have you bought 2018 sets? The printing on minifigures is the worst I have ever seen it. There isn't enough paint. And I know it's not a one off thing because Jangbricks has complained about it a lot and even Brickset. And I will continue to by knockoff figures, thanks for the permission. Amazingly the printing on them is normally good, the print on the torso and hips actually match and don't have a gap, plus I don't need to spend $200 on Duckpool.
  11. While I agree that a small sales slump from a HUGE growth period is not an issue and LEGO is over reacting, I'll bring up the point, sets suck. The set designs are awful. Play and set design no longer matter, it's all about minifigures. There are too many wall sets that have just a wall and some figures. Power Puff Girls is he same, bad set designs, all about the figures. Jurassic World, random fences, a dinosaur and some figures. NinjaGo used to be creative, the Movie sets are different, but then LEGO fell back and it seems the same as always again. Not as bad as license sets and their walls, but still boring. Get back to basic set designs and less baout minifigures. Also the quality of pieces and figure printing is the worst I have ever seen it, LEGO needs to increase the quality again otherwise I will just buy knockoffs, which as really awesome and much cheaper.
  12. It can be be a 40s style car for the bad guy, an old style train with modern police vehicles, mix both. The swamp police and even the mountain police, the bad gusy act like it's the 1930s, yet the cars are modern. In Arctic we are getting slightly futuristic looking vehicles so anything is possible. Someone go call LEGO up and tell them our ideas.
  13. If you are new to B&P it's really a confusing setup. I'm hoping one of these years they fix it. Also don't fall asleep while doing your shopping. It logs you out after 10-15 minutes and you need to start over.
  14. Those are tiny and weird and unneeded. This is huge and weird and unneeded.
  15. In my head it's an old west style steam locomotive. We have a modern passenger and cargo train, let's do something different. Make it a $90-120 set with a bunch of police vehicles. Maybe a bad guy run down truck as the criminals jump on the train. Small coal car and a mining truck wouldn't cost that much, $25. Same with a rail crossing with some fallen trees, fire pieces and a small fire truck, $30-40. Plus City is the most overpriced theme LEGO has so that would be a benefit for them. I don't think anything I'm saying will be made into sets. LEGO no longer takes risks, they just make an overpriced wall and add some figures to it and call it a day. Then moan when sales are down.
  16. I don't think it has been mentioned but the torso of Margaret Hamilton is also for sale. I almost bought one because with the new dress piece I think would make for a great dress combo.
  17. Exactly! A train heist. A set with only a train cargo container that the criminals are jumping on to escape the 'Wild West' Police (because LEGO will run out of locations for police soon. ). I'd suggest a runaway train that needs people being rescued, but being an American that might not sell with all the preventable train crashes we have been having. A coal train car that could go along with the mining theme. None would be that expensive but if you add a helicopter might sell to children. Releasing 2-5 sets every 4 years won't get kids attention but if they mix in a set or two every year that might. I don't think the solution is making the sets it's own theme, but making them more engraved into the City theme.
  18. I agree, but I will look on the up side, at least the JP set isn't $50. Knowing LEGO that wouldn't have surprised me. I can't wait to order a bunch of spoons on Bricks and Pieces.
  19. Just saw the new set on Facebook. I'm not a Harry Potter fan at all but that set is awesome! The return of the train door in black is always welcome too.
  20. ^Exactly, great interview. We should be happy LEGO still makes trains as they clearly don't sell. Even designers have said that in the past. The reason we most likely aren't getting a train station is the last one didn't sell. I got the last passenger train for $90USD and the cargo one was $120, that's 40% off. It wasn't difficult, it was at Target. (EDIT-And not on clearance.) I would love if through it LEGO would make train sets that fit into the police/fire theme. Have the criminals on a train car, have a fire knock over a tree onto the train tracks and the firemen have to put it out. That way it might increase sales or at least let people know there are LEGO trains. I actually like what I've seen from the new passenger train, I like having an engine and two cars instead of two engines and a car.
  21. They are also on Instagram (mp_legoleaks) as Reddit is a horrible website that's impossible to find anything. They are still orange so you can mix and match with the last series. They almost feel like a sequel that takes place in the future because the last series felt like real vehicles, the new ones are more unrealistic. Unless there is a four legged mech thing and quad bladed helicopter in real life.
  22. 40308 (Yay for Brickset.com having him listed.) The torso is 80 cents and his hat I think was 66 cents if you are in the USA.
  23. You are awesome. I bought 6, 5 for me and I think a friend wants one. I then added a bunch of stuff to my cart and the price increases really hurt. So I delayed the printed tiles until another time. Bought three Lester torsos, a couple of the white statue from the Nexo Castle (Which oddly have a limit of 2 for the head.) and a hot dog and bun for my sister. She isn't a AFOL but has a small apartment display so I buy her cheap food for her kitchen. Turns out I had $10 in rewards when I thought I only had $5.
  24. This is the most in depth review of a series I have ever seen! I really love the party kids and the clown. Some great pieces and the first time in a long time I want doubles of a figure. But a HUGE disappointment that the brick pieces (which I feel should have been 2x2 or 2x4) are part of the torso. I was hoping / thinking that they would fit over a torso like a Spongbob character but with a hole for the next in the top. It's not really a costume if you can't take it off.
  25. On some of the rare pieces like that, and the animals, I think LEGO should have a limit of 5. Of course that number is based on that I want one for the minifigure and 4 for a MOC I have in my head.
