Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Maple replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Because it's not on sale yet. It will be on sale at some point this month for at least 20% off. When it's gone then it's gone. I like the 'logic' of LEGO fans. If the set retires early, it must be popular. If it retires early maybe it wasn't as popular so LEGO decided not to make more of the set. Maybe it just had a piece that was no longer being used, the mold broke, and therefor they couldn't make more. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

It was released in August. That's only 3.5 months. You want to push your new themes more than say City or NinjaGo which are top sellers. -

The Bank sold out in <40 minutes at S@H. As soon as Amazon ran out of stock the price hasn't been lower than $300. Buy soon or risk buying double. -
The Portal set is fantastic. LEGO has been doing really well with designing $20-30 sets to be decent builds and a nice selection of figures. The plane is also very well done. The light house is the Scooby Doo set redone. :) I'm curious to what the next wave / more expensive set will be.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

LEGO revealed Hidden Side because it's a new theme and they want to drum up the talk about it. Makes complete sense. What I find interesting is it's two weeks before Thanksgiving USA and for the last 15 years LEGO has release 3-5 of the following year's City sets at the end of November. So I guess that's ending as they would have to put the pages on S@H. -

I don't know what you are talking about, but LEGO isn't a trillion dollar company. They also pay people to design sets, those people don't get a cut of only those sets. That doesn't even make sense. Do you understand how business works? How long do you think LEGO will make billions a year if they don't release top sellers? -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Maple replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
In the USA there is a site call CamelCamelCamel. Yes weird name but also will give you updates on price (I think) and gives you the cheapest price listed. It's not 100% but it's decent. The bank was the only one I was harder one. It kept going in and out of stock on Amazon but finally got it before it went out for good. I was hoping LEGO would have gotten it back for free promo but no luck. So for the next couple weeks is when LEGO is the cheapest it is all year, and sometimes for the retiring sets cheapest price ever. -

Amazon. Sadly I was too young and dumb and missed the $96 Cafe Corner and the $108 Green Grocer years ago. But Amazon has them on sale often and there are ways to still get them cheaper that sorry I won't share, but aren't illegal. I friend of mine got one of the $104 PR and I almost got a $104 NinjaGo City which will haunt be forever that I missed. But PR will be $128 (20% off) at S@H and Amazon for Black Friday, that's how I have gotten the last several modulars. The bank sold out within 45 minutes (and the S@H site is garbage) so thankfully I got it on Amazon when they were clearing them out a week later. I like the idea of a post office and a book store, so I'm sure that won't be it. haha -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Did you actually say 'holy BLOCKY'? Am I not on a LEGO site?! The big fire boat is awesome, the small one is nice too. Both have been copied a million times since in City. The FBI spy cars are fantastic. Right up there with the golden age of the 90s. That police truck is SMALLER than the 2017 one. The theme lasted like two years tops during the down days of LEGO and still has about the same amount of citizen sets as City did it's early years. Train Shed is one of the best town based sets ever made. I feel like you people are just trolling me because it's so obvious the influence World City had on sets even to this day. But I'll go play with my World City sets, you have fun with Sky Cops. -

You are dead to me. Dead. World City is better than 95% of the rescue junk City makes today. -

I meant of the City City theme, not a sub theme of City Police. -

The current City City Police Station is $54 in the USA on Amazon. It might be the worst one Lego has made in awhile but it' still cheaper than next year's set will be. -

I mean like 'Classic' Space, or even Space Police / Galaxy Squad type. I don't want Star Wars sets, Galaxy Squad had some awesome designs. One of my favorite themes ever was Alien Conquest. If you want race cars then by Speed Champaign sets. But no, two things of racers but no Space theme besides Star Junk. -

Parisian Restaurant is definitely retiring. I missed getting one a couple months ago for $104, so I'm hoping for $128 at S@H with the free tree, but it's definitely retiring this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Assembly Square would but no word on it. Those are the last two I want. I'm not going to collecting a theme that LEGO will randomly charge $30 more for a set like this years garbage for no reason. The Ninjago Modulars are also retiring if anyone adds those to these. -

One of the people's packs in the USA is a Target exclusive though (the Space one.) and I find that annoying. Also annoyed we get two racing themes yet we can't get two futuristic space themes at the same time? I think what LEGO is doing is now adding in the 20% discount every set gets at Walmart/Amazon/Target. 2019 minifigs cost $4 2020 minifigs cost $5 - 20% = $4 2018 PD station cost $100 (currently on sale at Target.com for $64 and you get a $10 gift card today) 2020 PD station cost $100, but only 800 pieces. -20% is $80. @Ragana9289 We already got a police tank about 15 years ago in World City. -
It's good to see that LEGO is finally going after the people with more money than they know what to do with. I mean they haven't had enough overpriced D2C sets recently for these people. What they really needed would a small wooden minifigure. Just remember everyone, this junk is where your money is going. LEGO has fired thousands of employees in Europe in recent years. So much worth it for this junk.

First off, welcome. And I love the walkway over the road. I wish there was more of that in LEGO city setups.

I think this gaming version of NinjaGo will be a hit. The minifigures are a lot of fun. Kind of have a 90s LEGO vibe to them.

JANGBRICKS' 2019 Christmas Catalog Review
Maple replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Next year there are only 6 Police sets because the focus will be on Fire. Just like this year had 5-6 Fire sets and more police. It's how LEGO does things. Even if Sky Police failed the 2020 sets were already designed and will be released. Jang doesn't have any inside knowledge, he's just guessing. Police sells and LEGO makes money, that's also why he defends the Police sets. It's a pretty big mistake with the wrong photo, like no one looked at that and saw the same set twice?- 13 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Maple replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks peeps! I almost bought that Juniors Airport for $23 just because it's loaded with prints. -
Yeah that was really weird. Like LEGO couldn't spend the half a cent to add that piece. Really weird. This one will always have a special place in my heart. I regret not getting several more as they were super cheap at TRU one year. https://brickset.com/sets/7890-1/Ambulance
-
Yes. I just watched Jang's review. LOTS of stickers but some cool features like with the X-ray light. Baby, wheelchair, nice ambulance.

Shipping was included. I also have their credit card, so I get free shipping anyways and save 5% more.
