  1. I agree. City Space is a big seller. I could see Friends Space Camp with some training sites, a lab with animals (because why not?), the artist friend can work the newsroom and have a pink space shuttle. Easily 4 sets.
  2. Everyone who was on the ship is dead. Shit happens. 1,500 died in the last hour from covid. 1,500 people is about how many people cops murdered in the USA in 2019, LEGO still makes police stations.
  3. Weird that LEGO didn't simply announce the sets today as all the Toy Fairs are canceled / delayed. However if the rumoured price / piece count is correct this is going to be a great theme to get on clearance this summer.
  4. As a toy I fully understand the malls being designed this way, just not something I'd buy. However I can see children loving it.
  5. I'm just throwing out the box for 60265 (City underwater base) and noticed you are exactly right! The base has yellow three sections and the 4th where all three connect. Only the tiny lab is shown! They don't show the back of the sub being empty, they don't show the bed cabin (Which is actually a nice section.) or the connecter base being empty.
  6. I got 7905 for half off when it was retiring. I kept it built for a long time because it's just a great set. I think City sets are all over the place, some are great some aren't. That's how it's always been. I just built 60265, the Sea Explorers base. It's an okay set, but it doesn't feel finished as 60096 was. But I plan on combining them to make a big setup. Sports car, beach rescue, Police Boat, tractor, the house and other actual buildings are all great. City at times just feels lazy and now a lot are 5+ or 6+ sets so they are simple. I can't wait for the summer sets to leak. They sound fun.
  7. That style of LEGO building of the mall has never pleased me. It's just weird. They made the hotel with the roller coaster in it and it just isn't pleasing to the eyes. I miss big buildings like the Hotel from several years back that was $130ish and looked like a building. The vet's clinic is lovely. Great mix of the tan with azure and coral. And the park I think will be a fan favorite.
  8. Gravity Fall, Futurama, Stargate, Farscape and Star Trek for sure.
  9. Placed mine Christmas Eve-ish. I expect it to come in 2-3 days after I get a covid vaccine, so maybe sometime in 2024.
  10. I don't have room for a city but I'm getting a Main Street going. I'm actually using the older road baseplates, not the 80s / early 90s version, but the green green roadplates. They are the same as the 'current' grey baseplates but green with a ton of paint on them. I am making a seaside hotel using the new roadplates though. It's really got me motivated.
  11. There is a Friends sheep which is exactly my point. Can get a panda bear, sheep, sleuth and llama, but not a new goat?
  12. Are people saying they won't buy a set because there is no goat? I'm just questioning why LEGO can make ridiculous animals in multiple Friend sets that are only used once, but can't make a new goat mold that would have worked in several sets throughout many themes. I'm probably not buying the set because I have no point point for it, or $150 extra laying around.
  13. I don't buy 'the mold broke' as an excuse. The goat could have (and SHOULD HAVE) been included in the Jurassic Park set, the Mikey Mouse boat, this set, and a few others. Why is it LEGO can make a new dog mold every year? Why is it that LEGO made at least three Friends animals that are exclusive to those three sets, but not a goat that can be included in several themes?
  14. LEGO makes a new dog mold every year, they can redo the goat and release it in this set, a CMF series, a town set, ect. I like it. I also like the comments I read on Brickset, completely insane.
  15. People claiming the decline in quality isn't a thing are living in a dreamland. Batman for years had the same basic print and the last 4-5 years LEGO hasn't been adding enough paint to cover the pieces correctly, or they are blurry. This wasn't an issue. Heck I have keychains that the printing is ok on and then the real minifigure the printing sucks. Watch Jang do reviews and he talks about this all the time, he didn't a few years ago.
  16. City life in the Arctic? City life looking for gold in the jungle? City life studying volcanos? You people just spent 3 pages of replies complaining about City because they aren't making things you want and that City Stunt isn't City enough for you all.
  17. There has been about 10 City building sets in the last 20 years. City sets every summer are based on nature, Jungle, Volcano, Arctic, Spaceport. City is a theme based on what sells, no what you want.
  18. Yeah if it were a $5 set then neat, a minifigure and a bike, but for $10 and so few pieces I'm very prepared to be disappointed.
  19. 60309-Selfie Stunt Bike-14 Pieces 9.99€ 60310-Chicken Stunt Bike-11 Pieces 9.99€ 60311-Fire Stunt Bike 10 Pieces 9.99€ SOOOOOO....... Any guesses on why they are so expensive and what a Chicken stunt bike would be?
  20. Well City Space is getting more futuristic so would that count? I don't see LEGO releasing a Space theme, just 1-2 Space sets a year through Ideas or Creator.
  21. Exactly! Pretty sure it can fit two gifts.
  22. The current wooden like box with the collectable minifigure stand does exactly that.
  23. $120AU is $93USD, so you are only getting screwed a little. In the USA the normal prices at LEGO to department stores is exactly the same prices. The department stores just have the sets on sale very often at 20% off, and then better sales a few times a year.
  24. 15 years ago I would have a missing or broken peice in 50% of sets, it was insane. Last year I bought a LEGO Movie 2 set, the box was smashed but the plastic bags were fine, three pieces were melted. Lego even wanted them back but never sent me the envelope to send them back. I built a NinjaGo dragon in the fall and it was missing a 1x2 slope piece and in it's place I had a 1x2 clip piece which was the first time I ever had a piece mix up.
  25. The USA price changes is simply because LEGO thinks hey can and get away with it. I don't think they understand that 1/3 of adults, 60-70 million people, don't have enough money for food or rent in the USA. So good time to increase the prices. But now the are somewhat the same price in Europe and the USA. I don't know about Aussie pricing.
