  1. The funny thing with Europeans complaining about prices, the prices didn't get $10 add up on the last minute. USA seen price increases, Euro is just the normal high. This is a statement from LEGO about the new baseplates and it kind of seems 'bye bye baseplate roadplates'. I love their last sentence.
  2. LEGO isn't revealing it because they probably realize it will never be in stock, just like everything on the website. :)
  3. My guess on the two waves would be one based on the movie, which will be delayed until next year, and season two of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. But the show comes out in 2 weeks so my guess is probably wrong. Maybe they have another mini movie LEGO cartoon thing later in the year.
  4. That's because LEGO know it's fans of City and Star Wars will pay pretty much any insane price for sets. At least they are cheaper than the time several years ago where $120 got you 550 piece space shuttle. The last rocket was 800+ pieces and 100.
  5. The criminals have a great building, but not $80-$100 great that the piece count will be. But 8 wide buildings! I don't care if you like the road plates or not but you must be happy we are getting buildings again!
  6. So what's the excuse for the fact that within the last 4-5 years that LEGO torso prints don't use enough paint and are blurry? They have only been using those mold for 45 years.
  7. My road plates came in today. The printing on the crosswalk is HORRIBLE to the point I'm requesting a replacement. Really off center and distracting. I don't understand why LEGO can't do printing well after doing it for 40-50 years.
  8. I for one love the llama. You can't make a bad llama. However I will never spend $20 on a llama, that's insane.
  9. My new road plates arrive tomorrow. It will finally, after two years, get me going on this small seaside display I want to do.
  10. I'm hoping for 9455: Fangpyre Mech. I didn't like the skellies of the first year but loved the snakes. However NinjaGo was so popular I could never find it.
  11. NinjaGo City had insanely good price too and a bunch of awesome new torsos. Sadly when it retired I only had $175 on my credit card. Almost got it for super cheap but it wasn't meant to be.
  12. I don't think there is an exclusive minifigure in the whole Gardens lot.
  13. I think Hidden Side failed because the box art was horrible and there wasn't a TV series. Even the dino theme (Jurassic World) is only around because sets are based on movies or Netflix specials. Which does make me wonder if we will get any sets in 2021 as the movie was delayed. Like you said LEGO wants tie ins for it's products.
  14. I agree. We aren't getting a Space theme because of Star Wars and they don't sell well. Without NinjaGo we would get less themes. We didn't even get a 30th anniversary Pirate wave. But I'm sure that's because NinjaGo did sky pirates 5+ years ago. Lego wants themes connected to TV shows and to last at least 3 years. You can't make a TV show for every one off theme.
  15. Always buy something that's in stock, even if only a keychain or an XTRA bag. LEGO once gave out two free keychains, two polybags and something else for a super low bar. I bought a TMNT keychain, got another keychain free, a throwback Shedder poly and all the other freebies from my full order in a box within a week.
  16. You have that completely backwards. The point of the show is to sell the sets, they are 30 minute commercials. The sets aren't made to fit the TV series, the TV series is to sell sets. The only bounty I need is the movie one and that's not even in the continuity of the show but damn fine set.
  17. I love it but there is literally nothing on S@H in stock that I want. But those surfboards need to go.
  18. Yes, but Legacy still made up a third of the sets in 2020. In January 2021 there are 4 Legacy Battle sets, 6 Legacy sets and only 4 new season Island sets.
  19. Yes but I think there were more Legacy sets in 2020 than new season sets. Which is fine. There is a huge rich history to tap. So even if the show gets canceled or is like Doctor Who and they take a year off there will still be sets.
  20. I actually think it's more likely to continue even after the show ends. We are getting 4 sets for the new season, yet we are getting even more Legacy sets.
  21. I hope we get some underwater stuff. I miss having an Aqua theme.
  22. I actually think this is one of my favorite X-Wings ever. The details on the other newer ones aren't worth double the price and really don't add anything to me. However Leia's face is really weird. One of the newer movies was going to have the awesome D-Wing from the video games but it was cut.
  23. Oh I know. I'm just sick of people disregarding facts because they don't like the baseplates. Like cool you don't like them, but they don't increase the prices of the sets anymore than other sets. 60246: Police Station has less pieces, no road plates and less pieces than the Main Street set. All City sets are expensive. For the price, and piece size the new road plates haven't increased anything. City was overpriced before and overpriced now. Just now we get a City that has City and we get actual buildings that aren't banks.
  24. It's 2020 and I'm done listening to gaslighting. The skate park makes no sense to me because it was supposed to be $30 but is listed as $40 so I ignore that one as one of those sets that in the USA is $40 but in Europe it's like $25. There is normally one a year. City is overpriced and frankly these sets with the roads feel cheaper than most of the City sets we have gotten recently.
  25. Once again, because clearly no one is listening, it's not increasing the price at all. The last City house I can remember was form 10 years was about the same size and $40 USD which with inflation is $47.75. So oh yeah the prices with road plates is soooo out of line. I'm done arguing over the FACTS of prices with people who clearly are living in a completely different reality.
