  1. It's not the issue with pieces, LEGO has insane amounts of pieces, it's LEGO trying to keep Trains 'cheap'. All the passenger trains in the last 10-15 years have been high speed. The nice thing is most Trains bring in a new system of how they are powered. However LEGO did release some new things for the current system back in the fall. So here's to hoping they just keep the current system which is the best we can ask for.
  2. I think 7938 looks really bad to me. I actually prefer the big pieces. Plus I see no way LEGO will go back to brick built because of cost. The current big piece is only like $1.50 on Bricks and Pieces. Having it brick built will just increase the cost even more. At a certain point LEGO will out price Trains out of sales.
  3. Yeah the Coast Guard helicopter is one of my favorites. If I was a kid I would have destroyed the set. I always wanted Volcano Heavy-Lift but boy that costed too much. The drop off base thing I wish LEGO used in more sets.
  4. There was a Coast Guard helicopter from maybe 2011 that has a rescue string and when you hit the button on the side it would bring the string back up.
  5. Oh wow this is nice. When I clicked on it I was thinking something more open. But I love how full and compact it is.
  6. I agree. Very weird they did two shades of yellow. LEGO will probably recolor it again in neon vomit yellow.
  7. I think LEGO is just running out of ways to make new police cars with the pieces they have.
  8. I know! I don't use B&P as much as others here but I use it more in wnter and it was closed, half the winter!
  9. Just be happy it now stays open instead of closing for 6-8 weeks like it used to.
  10. This is a forum. I did exactly what everyone else does here. I'd bet the first trailer will be for the Super Bowl. The movie comes out in 5 months and the Super Bowl is only in one.
  11. I do not believe they are looking at a dinosaur in that picture. Like they are surprised to see some helicopter or a human. Or maybe a robot dino-dog. Kayla looks like she will be a fun minifigure. Jurassic Park is NOT a great movie. It's a fun action movie. Nostalgia really gives you a very biased look. It's still a movie full of stupid plot holes.
  12. After seeing Jang's review of the police station there is no reason the school couldn't include a roof. The school is a school and a bus. The police station is a garbage truck, police SUV and a helicopter with a much larger building and a roof! The last fire station, 2019 I think was always on sale for 20% off and Target sometimes had a $10 giftcard. If that is the case with the police station I'm sold. I really want the garbage truck. I'll use the rest of the pieces to add a new floor to my dinosaur research building. (I MOCed a 2010ish police station into an office building and added Jurassic World Wu's Lab to it.)
  13. Oh yeah, NinjaGo has a few bigger sets still. LEGO realizes that NinjaGo is liked by ages 4-9 and City be more like 4-7 according to the boxes. The Dojo is 8+ and the mech is 9+ while the City sets are weirdly 5 or 6 with the bank being 7 for some reason. Now Im curious how LEGO determines age. We all need to remember that the majority of City sets are for like 6 year olds.
  14. City the last few years, and this year's NinjaGo are much more simple, going after the younger LEGO age range.
  15. Starting Monday you get the Chinese New Year Tiger GWP with the BH. Better than nothing.
  16. I'm still building a main street using the old baseplates (literally they are the old style and in green) and modifying I think I'm just going to have a bunch of the coral trash cans for no reason other than I need more colors. I'll use grey ones in front of the Friends sets and the coral in front of earth tone color buildings.
  17. I've been muted by Huw at Brickset for calling him out on allowing homophobic comments. It's stunning to me just how childish and close minded one 40-something year old can be. It's why you might not see me for months around here. I just stop all social media. I'm down to here and Instagram (for food and MOCs) and that's it. You want to disagree, fine, but not with racist, homophobic, sexist garbage or with people who don't want to hear facts.
  18. As someone who didn't have the money to buy NinjaGo City or Docks at the time they retired and would like them now, clearly every expensive lEGO set does increase in value.
  19. That reminds me of the time LEGO rereleased the Winter Toy Shop. A bunch of people were simply upset because it lowers the value of the older one. It was pathetic. I understand being upset if you wanted a new set to build, but simply being upset over profit is nuts.
  20. I fully agree with this. I saw some insane things throughout the years on LEGO groups. Like personal attacks against a trans LEGO fan was the lowest I have ever seen. Just like little children raised by terrible parents. The site admin of a very popular LEGO site, maybe the most popular AFOL of LEGO site (no not this one) is a prick. I was banned from commenting because I was pointing out factual errors of things (Pride flag, BAM) and he would be 'NO! I'm right!' when he wasn't. Like admit the mistake, edit the articles and move on. He is over 40 I think and acts like a 13 year old. I thought video game fanboys were bad, I thought New England Patriot fanboys were bad, but there is a level of LEGO fanboyism is almost to a cult level. (Hint, the site is Brickset. I can't stand Huw's childish BS.)
  21. The 2023 modular will not be a hospital. There was a long wait between the fire station and police station. I think we will get 1-2 more City hospitals before we get a modular one.
  22. Aren't all / most of the modulars have a taller bottom floor and shorter top floors?
  23. The squirrels are cut, but expensive. I'll probably just wait and get some sets for cheap.
  24. I just saw Jang's school review. It's better looking than I thought, but needs more desks, and at least a part of a roof. The fact the floors don't seperate is shocking to me.
  25. People never had black lights? They were hugely popular in the USA between 1995-2005. City sets are just insanely expensive simply because LEGO knows they can charge almost whatever they want because they are a top selling theme. However I think the crane being $40 is perfectly reasonable. Frankly it's the best priced set of the 2022 City wave. I would like to point out just how cheap LEGO is. They won't even give you the $5 GWP set because the crane is $39.99 and not $40. Even the dead TRU would give it to you.
