Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Maple replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I have a LEGO grocery bag thing. My mom got it from a tag sale for like a buck. Pretty sure it was a $200 GWP thing. It's nice, but again $1 when at a tag sale even used dirty LEGOs would go for more. My guess on why there is more junk GWP is LEGO is making too many sets, they can't keep up with demand and quality is slipping. No need to have awesome GWPs when things sell out anyways. -
It's Overwatch 2. The theme is supposed to be LEGO Games, but based on video games and not the board games like a decade ago. They are supposed to be like one off sets of different video games. The Horizon Zero Dawn Tallneck supposedly has 1,222 pieces, 80 dollars or Euros and is released May 1.

I tried buying two more Bandmates series 2 from Walmart. They sent me two DJ Unicorns, one with a 'substitution' sticker on it. I wish they sent two different ones. I'm like the mermaid, dragon and a few others but not for $12-$16.

No. Title of thread... "New themes in 2022?" Doesn't say anything about original themes.

Well there is the Overwatch 2 mech that comes out in March and another thing from Dawn Horizons or something (I'm playing Animal Crossing New LEAF so I have no idea on modern games.) comes out in May.

Penguin is costly. $2.25USD. The llamas were 50 cents cheaper. -

Because squares fit together, this set simply doesn't fit with other modulars in my point of view. It's really that simple. I like the Police Station. The tiny sand green section isn' needed and kind of lame, but whatever. I wish the Bookstore was pale yellow, and the green floor is weird, but otherwise I like it. The hotel doesn't fit, and LEGo could have done something about that, but didn't. And from what I've seen recently, wouldn't surprise me if no one at LEGO even bothered building it before revealing it. (I'm being slightly sarcastic, but only slightly.) -

Or it could be the Saratoga Hotel Havana Cuba. Or it could be the Gran Teatro de La Habana because it has a tower. It's LEGO, it could be anything and everything. -

Funny. I think the architecture is very Cuban. -
Yes. Just click on the sets, they all say "Temporarily out of stock".

The Osprey being a military thing wasn't even the main issue. The gears of the set were being stressed and breaking. Brickset has yet another set were the pieces do not connect correctly and are under stress which will most likely lead to cracks.
-
Exactly. This isn't just a recent problem either. There was TMNT set that had to be redone in the middle of production, there was an Antman set that was the same. The most famous for me wouldn't be the Osprey which was insane, but Wall-e. Like they made a set that couldn't hold up the eyes well? No one checked?! So my issue isn't that this set was canceled, it's more of a trend that LEGO should have fixed years and years ago.
-
I'm guessing you are talking about 'B'? It's amazing to me that LEGO makes billions in profit every year and can't take decent pictures. I would guess that it's suppose to only use pieces in the set, but I can't tell how the candle connect either, the picture is really poor.

This is why Ninjago should end

Should NinjaGo End? Does NinjaGo sell well? Yes. Then it shouldn't end. That was easy. -

Same here! It's nice people started agreeing with me around here. -
That makes more sense. LEGO is really a horrible incapable company. Why not just use scribbles for the names? LEGO got rid of any letters on the keyboard piece, the same should be for all LEGO pieces because LEGO is a universal toy.

My problem with the City School Bus is it doesn't have the stop sign. Right there is a failure. Otherwise I think it looks fine. -

It's not the style that doesn't fit, different styles and trees are awesome. I mean literally fit next to other ones. You stick the BH next to other modulars and the rooms have a lovely view of the wall on the left. The designer could have done a few things to make it better, pushing the art gallery further back into the hotel, adding a rectangle area behind the stairs. But nope. We get a set that only fits in on one side. I hope when it's released and people add it to the display they start to understand what I mean. -

Budget for sure. A lot of us just want a building that fits next to other buildings. There are other ways they could have had a hotel and art gallery that made more sense / use of space. If I knew how to LEGO CAD I'd show you. -
Nice to see that some people on here are just terrible people. How do I block people?

I said that on Brickset and people bashed me into the ground saying I was wrong. I think it's just the LEGO site not working right. (Surprise surprise) -
This is EXACTLY what LEGO is doing! The yellow on that truck is super bright, I like it. It's better than the new neon yellow. If it were actually that color I'd buy it. I know it's not. Also the printing of minifigures has been TERRIBLE the last 5 years. They could easily be sued for that as it's a main draw of many shoppers. What I find most interesting is LEGO only has gotten worse since Hidden Side. I believe the theme failed partly because the box art was so confusing and a mess no one knew exactly what they were getting. I'm not saying I'm going to sue. You thinking that it's a fantasy someone would sue is being incredibly naive and out of touch with reality. I'll use Friendly Ice Cream as an example again. Someone sued the company because the ice cream container had a picture of a sundae on it an he claimed he was expecting to find a bowl, spoon, whip cream, sprinkles, a cherry. HE WON!!!

I used to live in Rochester NY and they have a store just south of the city. It was really nice being closer but still took 45 minutes to go 13-15 miles on a bus. I never understood that. It was a straight line and no one ever really used it. I really want a Mrs. Claus. If you do go to Boston the Natick Mall has a store and is the oddest mall I've ever been to. There are condos and a Wegmans so you never have to leave the building. Half the people are wearing clothing that costs more than I make in a year and the other half are wearing ripped PJs.
