The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So, I rewatched the trailer tonight, and noticed something. It was in the scene where Sweet Mayhem and her pod are descending into the bunker area, right before she fights Wyldstyle. You can barely make out what looks like some sort of mechanical spider machine, with what I'm pretty sure was Metalbeard's head/treasure chest combination attached to it. I think this might be another potential set! -

That wasn't a leaked logo. It was an edited image taken from an episode of The Simpsons where Chief Wiggum got his hands on an experimental military jetpack and started flying around and calling himself the 'Sky Police'. It was just something someone did for a laugh. It's not official in any way. -
2019 Friends Sets - Rumors and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
I highly doubt that's all. It'd be a very small wave. The only explanation for that would be if TLM2 also incorporated Friends stuff. A good house or two would be nice; my village needs more. -

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
You mean Sky-fi. I'd like to see Desert police. -
Yep, this is pretty much the main reason that I don't think there'll be an Overwatch CMF. I'm not denying the potential. But I don't think Lego would take a chance like that on a relatively obscure IP like Overwatch. Of course, say, as a hypothetical, that this is just the start of a beautiful friendship between Blizzard and Lego. And they later come out with more sets based on things like World of Warcraft, while maintaining the Overwatch line for a couple of years to come. Then we could expect to see a 'Blizzard CMF' which Overwatch would play a role in. But with the Lego Movie 2 coming out and the inevitable CMF line associated with that? I think Lego's hands are full for some time. We shouldn't get our hopes up.

Based on my understanding of the pattern, it's unlikely. When 2019's Modular is released, they'll probably retire the Restaurant.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
I really hope it's not a fire station. Not after I spent so much money earlier this year to get the Friends' Friendship House and convert that into a Winter Fire Station. (Something that I still haven't finished . . .) Restaurant sounds good. Here's hoping . . . Although, worst case, I can make the police setup in the fire station permanent . . -
Looking good. That's a good use of the castle parts. ^^ And yes, do a wizard!

Fire temple confirmed. Also apparently the new Samurai X Mech only has 154 pieces? And, of course, at least seven of those will be the minifigure. And two more will probably be swords - and we can probably assign another five to the 'enemy' minifigure. (Probably a Serpentine.) The only explanation I can think of for that shockingly low part count is that it's going to be a Nexo Battle Suit style Mech, not a fully built up one.
-
Yep. I know a friend who isn't into Lego at all but, when I told him about it, expressed interest in getting the sets because Overwatch. So I think there'll be several who are in the same boat.

As long as we get a new Ahsoka I'll be happy. Though I wouldn't mind a good-quality Republic gunship. Always liked those.

How to integrate Ninjago City & Docks in a Modular town layout?
Fenghuang0296 replied to SwissBrick's topic in LEGO Town
I would have suggested building a custom Modular that fits the 'standard' Modulars on one side and the Ninjago City parts, with the elevated walkway, on the other. (I haven't got the budget for it RN, but I'm planning something similar based on the massive toy robot we see as part of the Ninjago City skyline in the movie that never (yet) became a set.) But having it as a Venice-like separated area is a good idea too. It's something I might keep in mind if I somehow manage to get the original set and the Docks both . . . not that that's likely, my budget will be stretched enough just getting the Docks . . Still, I like your solution. Best of luck!- 47 replies

Ooooh, yes! They should definitely break up Diagon Alley into multiple sets. We could have one set about Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, one Ollivander's, one for Gringott's . . and then the inevitable D2C could include Flourish and Blott's and Borgin and Burkes'.

Yes, but I think people were expecting that there might have been some coordination of promotions between Lego and Blizzard.

I love the Cloud City set. To be honest, I'm not a Star Wars fan. I make a rule of buying as few Star Wars sets as possible, primarily due to the fact that Star Wars Lego is, indeed, more expensive than most other varieties. But as far as I can see, the only bad thing about this set is the absence of a roof. And that's totally understandable given the already significant part count involved. Speaking as someone who likes to play with their Lego just as much as display it, I like the playset design. And it doesn't look like this thing has any noticeable flaws for what few action features are included. It's big ask, especially since it's more expensive and has fewer parts than the Ninjago City Docks. But if I can get a good price on it and have room in my budget, I'm certainly not going to pass it over.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Still hoping for either a library or a cafe. Either way, though, hopefully there's a small footprint. Space is limited in my village. After all, I've had to restrict the footprint of the Toy Shop from four 6x10 plates to three so that it takes up less space already. It's kind of strange that they designed it on 6-wides with two studs of overhang on one side and four on the other . . . -
So, I think we can all agree that the 'angry gritted-teeth grimace' expression that the Thanos bigfig from the Thanos Ultimate Battle set is . . . inaccurate, to say the least. (Honestly, I have nightmares about how OOC he was acting in that one Black Panther Lego animated short . . .) So! I want to know, does anyone have any ideas on what could be done ro create something more accurate? Non-purist methods would probably be best . . maybe a paper or cardboard 'hood' that could be put over his head that's all purple and has a face printed on, so that not only is the expression fixed but it looks like he's not wearing that inaccurate helmet. Does anyone have any better ideas? Or even tried something similar?

They had pretty major roles in the third movie . .

Well, Blizzard also revealed a new map. Maybe the set would tie in with that? But the new 'Busan' map also correlates well to D.Va . . Best case; a D.Va mech set with a side build or two that represents terrain features from the Busan map.

Fenghuang0296 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
WHAT?! . . . Dick move, Lego. Dick move. Nope, not worth it. Maybe if it came with Nedry or some of the other significant characters from the first couple of films, but I'm not gonna rack up debt at the Lego store just for an Iam Malcolm that, frankly, looks like a knockoff of Bruce Banner and variants of Claire and Owen. And cheaping out on a fourth figure and shoehorning in yet another baby dino? Just. No.- 1,290 replies

I've been advocating Watchpoint Gibraltar, and I'd definitely still like to see it. But having done some research, I think I'd be equally happy with the MV-261 Orca, for one simple reason; Overwatch lore has it that the Orca is piloted by a character named 'Ray'. In spite of this apparently significant role, he has never appeared in any capacity throughout all of Overwatch media. If we do get a set of the Orca, then it would be practically obligatory to include Ray. (Which isn't necessarily to say they'll do it, but it would be a good idea for reasons I'm about to mention.) Which would make the Lego set the first time ever that Ray is actually seen in official media. That alone would probably make the set a collector's item among Overwatch fans, even those who have no interest in Lego at all. (Which, it should go without saying, would definitely boost sales of the set and possibly the entire line.) Of course, best case scenario? There's a second wave coming Summer 2017 with an equally large set, and we'll end up getting both Gibraltar and the Orca.
